he's not good at SS, this board used to roast Jeter over the years for being over hyped, TA isn't even on that level3 points

Chicago's very own Blackhawks will be next. Next thing you know the White Sox will have to drop the "White" from their team name.3 points

That moniker Guardians really sucks. It is pity to throw away the legacy, albeit at times crappy, and the long history of the Indians for some PC consideration.3 points

Yeah, somehow our fanbase has already reached the point where we complain about everything the team does. I think we’re supposed to wait a season or two after a World Series win to turn on the team, but this is the first time in my life I’ve rooted for a playoff team two years in a row. I guess I don’t know how it works.3 points

He is a 20 th century HOF manager. He is past his expiration date.2 points

Lynn had knee issues, why is he still in the game?2 points

TA is putting together a defensive clinic tonight.2 points

I thought the reason you hire a Hall of Famer manager is to prevent the exact type of baseball we've seen over the last 3 months.2 points

Yeah Lynn's always been a mid 3 ERA guy even when he was a 7 WAR pitcher with the Rangers in 2019. That's what I think he probably will be going forward.2 points

I start Gio in game 1 because he'll be better able to start again in game 5.2 points

This lineup desperately needs the July version of Vaughn to show up for the playoffs.2 points

I give the Blackhawks 5ish years tbh. They are next on the PC hit list for sports teams.2 points

Starling Marte or Kris Bryant would have looked pretty fine acquisition at deadline, instead of having to depend on scrubs like Goodwin.2 points

A good defensive outfielder with pop, everyday player, was our main need at trade deadline, not 2 more relievers, especially an expensive reliever like Kimbrel.2 points

My big criticism of Luis last year was how bad the strikeouts were and until he fixed it, we really needed to dampen expectations. With 40 more plate appearances, he's actually struck out 20 less times. That's pretty good improvement and consequently all of his numbers have improved along with it. His approach is better and hopefully he keeps improving from this point on. You know, one day, these bats we have we all actually click at the same time. I just hope that happens in the Houston series. It seems as though no one is hot together. Just one guy and then cools off, then someone else. Can we get these guys to hit at the same time? That would be convenient.2 points

That really sucks. Thanks Hahn, for not getting a RFer at the deadline.2 points

Or Moncada to be honest. There is a lot of (frankly, justified) disappointment in him as a hitter this season, but let's not ignore the fact that he does something that is very important to those who bat behind him. He gets on base.1 point

Congrats to my second favorite team, the Tampa Bay Rays on winning the AL Eastern Division. So far a great year for such a fun team to watch, they will be tough in the playoffs.1 point

It's pretty hard to give baseball a viewing screen on NFL Sunday, after this game tonight for hell sure I'm just glancing at the box score tomorrow. This is a hard watch.1 point

Going 6 and 100 feels like a monumental accomplishment. Kudos to Lance for sucking it up here.1 point

After every start Lynn is telling the media his knee isn't right. I'm paraphrasing a little bit, but after his last start he said his knee wasn't something that would improve until after the season is over. Forcing him to labor like this in a game you've already lost, that means nothing, makes absolutely 0 sense.1 point

not sure what they're thinking leaving Lynn out there.1 point

Abreu and Eloy going on a cold stretch just in time for the playoffs.1 point

I cringe when people say the ML season is too long. After going thru all the damn injuries and still hold my breathe for the rest of this week and next, I'd welcome a 120 game campaign at this point going forward. Today's players are just way too fragile to hold up for 162.1 point

The team needs to stop hitting so many ground balls.1 point

If ths is a one and done flame put in the playoffs, I’m thinking that some coaches will be offered as sacrificial lambs- Menichino and Hassler come to mind1 point

I would start Rodon game 1 as he's proven himself in Houston this year. If his arm falls off you go to Lopez and Kopech. I would go Rodon and Gio and then Lynn and Cease.1 point
-
I would go Gio game 1 Rodon game 2 even as a opener give Lynn game 3 at the cell1 point

So how many times must we explain that the vaccine doesn't prevent the virus completely and you can still come down with it, but the vaccine will help teach your body how to fight it off. It's like you just want to keep stringing along this argument where you pretend not to understand....1 point

It would look so much better with Leury at second and Marte in RF.1 point

Lol Eilish concert had 100k? Lol biker rallies? How bout the 10s of millions of college football fans crawling all over each other? Baseball, NFL, Lolla…10s of millions protesting…bikers So what’s the overall weekly attendance at all sporting events now- high school through the pros. 50 million+? A few isolated superspreader events lol? Yea let’s check vaccine cards at the pizza shop1 point

Getting rid of this intro was a terrible move. They should have just continued to update it. Would love it if it came back for the intro for game one.1 point

Vaughn plays an adequate RF, which allows Eloy to stay in LF (per his demands of not wanting to DH). So why not go Sheets/Burger at DH, or hell, Sheets/Yermin?1 point

Please provide the statistics you say are being ignored by the media. I don’t want other posters to do it for you, I want you to provide it. Let’s see your data Greg. No anecdotes. DATA! I think many have tried getting the word out to the vaccine hesitant and anti-vaxxers. But they clearly have made their choice and can’t be swayed by anything. It literally takes a death to someone close to them to change their minds.1 point

So you are just going to ignore Delta variant and impact of a variant that was clearly more highly contagious that came rushing out during the time frame you indicated. Beyond Delta - the us populations behaviors around COVID also shifted. More people living closer to normal lives. More people going out, more vacations, less restrictions etc. Not saying things back to normal but most vaccinated people made some choice to resume many things that they had stopped doing prior to being vaccinated.1 point
-
Nonsense. It absolutely stops the spread. Less people contract the virus with vaccine than without -> less people spread. With delta those impacts were less impactful but non delta was significant.1 point
