This team is rolling at the right time...mayhaps LaRussa knows the game better than us ?3 points

Benetti isn't very good at his job. (baseball broadcasts specifically) Keep hoping it gets better, but so far, it hasn't.3 points

Not many things make me happier than watching the Padres situation deteriorate.3 points

What a dumpster fire. And no, I wouldn't trade for Machado now. Harper? Sure.3 points

yea that actually isn't a bad comp, homeless man's version, but a similar profile.2 points

Go in and win 1 in Houston and I like the chances big time2 points

Not to mention the countless games lost to injuries. But what a bum ass manager. Ricky would have done better.2 points

Yoan has 3 doubles and a home run since being called the White Sox' "Weakest Link" in the game thread last night.2 points

What happened to Robert? He'd gotten so much better at not swinging at pitches out of the zone but the past two nights he's swinging at everything again.2 points

Lucas pitched enough today to reach 4 fWAR on the season. We now have four starters with an fWAR of 4 or higher. I'm pretty sure we're the only team in baseball to do that this year.2 points

Imo both engel and leury are not ideal. Really should have gotten something more meaningful at the deadline. I hope this doesn't crush their hopes.2 points

Moncada just hit his hardest ball since before he had contracted covid. 113.8 is *elite* raw power. There's only a small percentage of players in baseball capable of hitting the ball that hard. That has to be a sign he's feeling strong and healthy at the plate.2 points

I know this is a pointless game but our pitchers need to pay attention to base runners at least a little bit in the playoffs. Detroit is running whenever they want on us.2 points

This just isn't true though. I was paying like $200-$230/month for the triple play with Comcast. And I paid for Prime and Netflix anyway. Now I do Comcast internet, youtube tv and the Hulu/Disney/ESPN bundle along with Netflix and Prime and it's much cheaper still.2 points

Personally, I would have left Keuchel off the postseason roster, but I understand why they are not doing it.2 points

Sox look good right now. I hated the play for most of August and September, but they’re clicking. Stuff TA was doing last night isn’t stuff he would even attempt last couple months. Robert stealing the other day. They’re getting ready to play their A game. Exciting stuff.2 points

They still haven’t traded their Top 5…Gore disappointed and Abrams is hurt. If Clevinger comes back healthy and they can fix Lamet or Morejon (or Gore), they might be okay. The biggest argument is that standing pat with Patino, Quantrill and Ty France instead of trading Myers or Hosmer would have led to better overall results this year and into the future. On the other side of the ledger, the Musgrove move was one of the better trades, actually. But way way too much tinkering. Secondarily, they have to decide what to do with Pham (likely gone), if Grisham can play everyday and why they traded for Frazier instead of starting pitching at the deadline. With that roster/payroll, trading Machado and moving Tatis to 3b and giving Abrams SS makes the most sense for the clubhouse, positionally, and financial flexibility.2 points

If you didn't want him enough to outbid the Padres when he cost only money...why want him now when he cost money and players?2 points

I would not do Crochet straight up for him with that contract even after the way they used him this year.2 points

White Sox 5 Detroit 4 - Final @ Comiskey Park II Moncada, Tim and Sheets with the offense, Lucas, Burr, Foster, Bummer and Liam with the pitching.1 point

I think this is the most fun I've had watching a non-Sox game all year. I don't even like the Mariners, but the thought of them and Toronto making it over NY and Boston has me rooting for them.1 point

Oh I absolutely agree Gavin is the superior player. His makeup, swing and body type just remind me of Palka. I think Palka actually had a shorter swing, but Gavin has much better eye and bat control, while still having quick wrists, leading to better results. I LOVE how he's been just hitting what the pitchers have been giving him. Going the opposite way, soft duck snorts dumped over the infielders' heads, and of course the rockets into the right field seats.1 point

I think every team is going to be asking for Sheets in trade talks this offseason. I kinda hope we keep him though. It is nice to have a trade chip like this unexpectedly pop up, though.1 point

Yeah, Tony out there hitting bombs and making big plays. Irony of your tweet is Sox don't have home field because Tony decided to waste a month and countless games. Incredible skills for a 76 year old man.1 point

Big win for Matt as well. https://twitter.com/BagoDonuts3/status/1444487014926229506?s=19 Edit: I keep getting error messages when I try to imbed tweets.1 point

Crazy to think about how Miggy beat the piss out of the Cubs in the 2003 NLDS (3 homeruns), and then he homered off Roger Clemens in the WS. That was so damn long ago. Man was he a good hitter.1 point

That seems like a difficult switch to flip in the playoffs considering they clearly aren't coached to do so, for whatever reason1 point

No time for it. The playoffs are here and if you can't hit you can't play. Vaughn will have a whole offseason to work on things and he will have a chance for next year. He will also get at bats in the post season against lefties at DH.1 point

Still kinda needs the ABs, he’s in the middle of a pretty bad slump so I was hoping he’d break out of that this weekend so they platoon him against LHP come next week. Oh well he’ll play tomorrow I’m guessing1 point

Yeppp. Machado has 0 surplus value. Which is generally the case when star players sign mega contracts. Its just the way it works. Truth be told, Machado would have been super neat a few years ago. But the ship has sailed. Even if the Padres were willing to eat 1/3 of his remaining deal for nothing more than back-end 40 man types, I don't even know if its wroth it. Just sign a RF and 2B with the money (realistically, quite a bit less) and ball out the next 3-4 years with the best roster in the game.1 point

My guess is, and I'm NOT saying I'd do this, is they'd ask for Crochet or Kopech as main piece.1 point
