Man the amount of energy people are wasting on being hurt about what the announcers were saying is surprising even for Soxtalk.6 points

Yes. Because "It would have been nice to win 2 more games" is such an unreasonable request that it is tantamount to demanding perfect games every day.5 points

The announcers were fine. It's the Sox who were awful.4 points

I hate to break it to people, but the manager didnt lose this game. The players did.4 points

But look how rested the players look! The franchise is so stupid when they try to get cute.4 points

.125 career postseason batting average, .600 OPS with awful defense4 points

Meanwhile Lance Lynn actually has 41 pitches through 2 IP4 points

Unrelated to Astros, I love that the Bulls PBP guy and the second/third best catcher in Sox history are referred to as "Fox guys" in here.4 points

Say you know nothing about the people announcing this game, with out actually saying you have no idea who is announcing this game.4 points

Who cares man? Its part of doing business. You want to be a good team? You have to sign players in FA. Sometimes they don't work out. Every good team has a bad contract or two, and if Dallas is the only one the Sox have, they're doing ok. He'll be the #5 for a portion of next year and if he sucks, they'll release him and then they're done paying him.4 points

Yes, but look at his home/road splits vs the Astros. It wasn't reasonable to think starting him at Houston would produce any different result than what we got. There's no reason it couldn't have gone Giolito/Rodon/Lynn/Cease and have Kopech and Lopez to back up Rodon.3 points

Hopefully a Sunday lineup tomorrow so the guys can be well-rested for game 33 points

Yes...both things happen. Lynn pitches better when he can smell those onions. The same throw off McCullers because, as a vegan, he knows they are going to be used on hot dogs or polishes.3 points

Just put Robert 3rd in the order and let him be an All-Star3 points

Moncada the only guy who showed up today, yet he gets far, far more vitriol on this board than Jose or TA.3 points

Giolito was the reason I was pretty confident they would split in Houston. That is still in play.3 points

LOL, Houston has one really good starter and he's pitching today. Get off the ledge everyone, my goodness.3 points

Sox were down 4-0 in game 3 of the WS in Houston and Oswalt looked unhittable through 4. Then the Sox put up a 5 spot on him. Have some faith.3 points

Probably wasn't a good idea to ignore the Astros destroy Lynn.3 points

And if it was properly managed we would've easily had home field in this series3 points

This pre-emptively getting mad at TLR for decisions he won't make is fun. Playoffs are fun. TLR was horrible in the first half, and other managers are better, but I'm thankful he was able to guide this team into the playoffs with a remarkably healthy team that is well rested and playing good ball. He was able to manage Lynn's knee and Rodon's shoulder so we have both. Kopech is here in the playoffs. Crochet is here. And now they are going to be going 110%. No more management. No more holding back.3 points

What's crazy is when you think of headlining trades back to do this rebuild its the Sale, Quintana and Eaton trades. All of the headline players played apart in this team: Sale: Moncada, Kopech Quintana: Eloy and Cease Eaton: Giolito, Lopez with Dunning being traded for Lynn. Holy Shit did the White Sox do good on those trades.3 points

I'll say this, I've been hard on Tony and I don't think he's the right guy but the sox can win it all with him. One thing I will say is it'll be nice to watch a playoff game where it doesn't look like our manager is going to pass out from the pressure. I'll never forget rick at the edge of the dugout with his hands on his knees looking like he's hyperventilating in the 3rd inning of a game they're leading 1-0. Tony may be taking a nap, but that's better than a look of panic.3 points
