That was so damn impressive. They had no business winning tonight on paper. Donovan has these guys ready to play. Ayo is a spark plug2 points

We should definitely treat this milb rule 5 draft like a playoff game. Wall to wall coverage.2 points

Is it $30 million in addition to Craig Kimbrel because that's doable for sure I'd think. Maybe something like this: Trade Craig Kimbrel and Matt Foster to Philadelphia for Jean Segura, Jose Alvarado and Rafael Marchan Trade Gavin Sheets and Zack Collins to Oakland for Sean Manaea and upside reliever of some sort? Sign OF Michael Conforto to 4 year $88 million deal. Backload the deal. Re-Sign Ryan Tepera for 2 years $14 million 1. Tim Anderson SS 2. Yoan Moncada 3B 3. Luis Robert CF 4. Yasmani Grandal C 5. Jose Abreu 1B 6. Eloy Jimenez LF 7. Michael Conforto RF 8. Andrew Vaughn DH 9. Jean Segura 2B Bench C Rafael Marchan INF/OF Leury Garcia OF Adam Engel LHB Bench bat of some sort Rotation 1. Lance Lynn 2. Lucas Giolito 3. Dylan Cease 4. Sean Maneae 5. Michael Kopech Bullpen Liam Hendriks RHP Kendall Graveman RHP Ryan Tepera RHP Reynaldo Lopez RHP Aaron Bummer LHP Garrett Crochet LHP Jose Alvarado LHP Dallas Keuchel LHP2 points

At this point bringing Rodon back would somewhat salvage what has so far been a terrible off-season for the White Sox.1 point

This team is a bunch of walking highlights. (Typing this right after Ayo's 4th quarter lob to Lonzo)1 point

Jesse Rogers was reporting it, but then after the lockout started said he was wrong1 point

Gonna be a part of me sad to see the Micker era end without ever starting. I do think he can be a Franmil Reyes type and run into 30 or so homers a year somewhere while racking up the Ks. Butttt he quite simply has absolutely no spot on this club moving forward, and certainly not on the 26 man in 22.1 point

Sign Michael Conforto 4/$72M ($18M AAV) Trade Keuchel (-$18M) + Burger (-$650k) to San Fran for Tommy LaStella ($5.5M) Trade Kimbrel (-$16M) to Phillies to Seranthony Dominguez ($800k) and Mickey Moniak ($650k) Sign Clayton Kershaw 2/$45M ($22.5M AAV) Resign Ryan Tepera 2/$17M ($8.5M) Chris Archer 1/$8M with plenty of incentives. NET NET is $30M spent. Lineup: Anderson SS, Moncada 3B, Abreu 1B, Eloy DH, Grandal C, Robert CF, Conforto RF, Vaughn LF, LaStella 2B Rotation: Giolito, Lynn, Kershaw, Cease, Kopech, Archer (Kopech works some from pen as well to control innings) Bullpen: Hendriks, Bummer, Graveman, Tepera, Crochet, Dominguez, Lopez BN: Engel, Leury, Sheets, Collins/Zavala BEST ROSTER IN BASEBALL.1 point

I didn't watch the 2nd half - but at end of the 1st half - 4th and 2 from midfield, down 14 points. I get it - maybe they fail and if they did Cardinals probably score another TD. But you are huge underdogs down 14 pts - if you have any shot at winning you have to roll the dice there. I'm hoping Fields makes things fun when he comes back next week - but counting down the days until no more Nagy.1 point

So far he thinks Soxtalk is pro ownership and pro racist, yet is still actively posting here.1 point

Well, that;;s just because it takes so much longer to say one hundred four million eight hundred and sixty three than it does to say four.1 point

From what I have read, the owners have brought some absolutely ridiculous and unrealistic offers to the table so far, they haven't been very genuine in their attempts. It's hard to place "fault" for me because the CBA is up, it needs to be renegotiated in good faith from both sides. However, im sure the players have brought some ridiculous scenarios to the table as well. It just needs to be negotiated, and right now there isn't a lot of that happening1 point

The Sox are the only major market team in their division. Yet they are operated like a class A affiliate. CWS should be perinneal contenders and major players in the elite FA Market. Sadly, they're not. But to a group of affulent sportsmen who can spend and make money (yes, folks like that really do exist), CWS could be a very attractive team to own.1 point

My thought was the Sox know Rodon better than anyone, and we've all heard the work ethic stuff. If that's true, I can totally understand not wanting to give a multi-year deal to a guy you're worried might not push himself once he gets that "long term deal" But if that's true, not offering him the QO doesn't seem to make much sense. Seems like it's very little risk. Worst case, he's back with your club on a one year deal where he is still looking for that long term deal.1 point

One thing I will always say about you is that you are never, ever malicious with any of your posts, even if it is warranted. I give you a lot of respect for that, at least.1 point

If you were actually attempting to make a reasonable argument and actually paying attention to my posts instead of just trying to earn useless cool points for your stupid reaction emojies on the forum you would know it's a lot more than just that because I've explained it up and down the line... "buddy." Or champ. Or guy. Or pal. Or whatever stupid childish flair you want to put on the end of your childish comments. I always attempt to reason with people but at this point I think I've lost my patience and am just going to start putting more of the trolls on ignore because some people just want to be fucking kids and fish for emojies rather than have a sensible fucking discussion because of their fragile fucking egos and insecurity. I grow tired of people who not only don't listen at all after endless repetition but DON'T ACTUALLY WANT TO. If I am going to be the only one to admit when I make a mistake and then get shredded for it by people who are actually going to try to act like their shit never stinks then frankly it's a waste of my time even trying and really, those people can fuck off because they are just children looking for attention and I'm not giving it to them anymore. These people are gonna bullshit everyone and claim they can't stand certain posters but still reply to them because they want attention. I don't so I'll gladly say fuck you to such people (like yourself) and put them on ignore and from now on focus on having discussions with people who aren't immature douchebags. Fuck it. Since I'm looking for rational discussion and not attention like childish dickheads like you, I won't have any problem actually putting people like yourself on ignore. I actually back up what I say. /rant. "Buddy!"1 point

I clearly stated I may be wrong. You then call me out for being wrong and now say I never said it? Or what are you actually saying? If you're that insecure that you have to literally attack me over nothing then I feel bad for you.1 point

I see both sides of this. What is weird to me is it seems like this board has an "avoid any pitcher over 30 like the plague" mentality, even with guys better than Lynn yet so many are ecstatic about this trade. I don't hate it, especially if we sign him to an extension but there are a lot of risk factors with this trade, more than I'm comfortable with and IMO than anyone else should be comfortable with. If Dunning had helped us net Darvish I have no problem. But this one is a little nerve racking.1 point

Lol why. Why essentially trade the farm for 1 pitcher who is really not even that great.1 point
