  1. Lmao this is why you get "name called". This "these guys make a lot they don't need to fight for their rights as workers" shit is absolutely tiresome. They are fighting for arb rights, minimum salaries, health care during a pandemic, etc if you are just gonna be obtuse about it then why don't you start your strike of not caring about any of it right now and go elsewhere with your thoughts that the billionaires are the good guys and the players should be happy with what they have

  2. There are employees in every profession that feel underpaid. However, not many professions have the salaries of professional baseball players. I don't think many players feel underpaid in reality. I haven't seen any explanation of how any ask from the union would improve the average player's compensation at all. I have used Leury as an example since we all know he signed a three-year contract at 5.5 million per year. He is a nice but average player IMO. My belief is that Leury feels well compensated and is just happy as a clam with his pay envelope. He will not be happy to miss out for let's say 3 months of the largest paychecks of his life for a new deal that will gain him absolutely nothing. Lastly, it seems to me that players being allowed free agency sooner would play into the hands of a few teams who already have a money advantage over the competition. There is no reason why I want to give the Yankees another advantage over my team.

  3. Yes this is me, sole arbitrator. I'm the only one here who called you out for sounding obtuse. Only me. ?

  4. It's not a me-first attitude to know when you and your fellow workers have it good. I know you think all the good makeup guys support the union. When a person doesn't agree with you try explaining why he is wrong rather than using name-calling.

  5. For sure. Is this the part where I should call you a boomer now or are you back to your position of not calling names

  6. If the union position was about a higher minimum wage I would support it as I have said before. This stoppage is more about arbitration than anything else. The issues being discussed like universal DH and minimum wage could be agreed on in a couple of short meetings. You will also note that I used the term rich people rather than rich players. Both sides of this work stoppage are nuts IMO. You sound like you are the sole arbitrator of what people can say and think on this forum. If being obtuse means not being in lockstep with every/any union action because they are always in the right...you have me there.

  7. If I am the average MLB baseball player making 4.17 million per year...I would be asking myself what's in it for me. Not much would be my answer.

  10. I agree. I figured this board would be up in arms about mere mention of trading Gio. My guess is D-Backs would prefer shedding salary to acquiring Gio, so swap out Gallen for MadBum from D-Backs and we send Vaughn, Crochet and Burger (not Gio). BTV likes it.

  11. Are teams trading for owners now

  12. Why in the world would the Dbacks trade three core pieces for a trade centered around Lucas Giolito (I get there would be other stuff)? They will want want controllable pieces and that’s something we lack unless we pull from the major league roster. Personally, just sign Conforto if we’re looking to fix the offense.

  14. The Northsiders would be just as guilty as the WS. I might try to get interested in minor league baseball (Southbend Cubs). I was a frequent game goer for the Corpus Christi Hooks AA team when I lived in Texas. Good baseball without Major League prices.

  15. Didn’t realize he was seen as having such character concerns… also seems like he’ll bring back more than we have to offer. It also should be noted that this article is the best we’ve seen in the past 3 weeks… which says a lot. This sucks.

  16. If the season is shortened to 60 games, he's switching his allegiance to the Northside with me.

  21. What concessions is the union being asked to take? Sometimes you need to be happy with what you have.

  22. Are you not watching because of your stance or are you watching because of your stance. We all need to know. I just need to know if you are going to be supporting millionaires very important to me

  24. If all we get is 60 games...they can play them without me. It would be fun watching the whole pack of spoiled rich people cut off their noses to spite their faces.
