  1. The owners did this. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

  2. If the White Sox sign Conforto and Tepera and trade for Chris Bassitt, I don’t care who plays second base.

  4. I am not going to post Manfred's justifications as to what their offers were. Fuck him.

  5. And Tony a “better” manager. ?

  6. The idea that the last 5 years have been difficult for mlb financials and that it is due to labor cost is so silly. And it points to his horrendous leadership in failing to nab the new revenue streams others have been so able to claim. And now he lets games be lost over labor disputes that frankly aren’t close to the level of disagreements in years past. Eat shit manfred.

  7. Let me know when Manfred will be getting hit with a folding chair and I will tune in.

  8. That's also an offer below what had been reported at multiple stages last night. Bullshit is stinking somewhere... either in that this is their final offer... or in what was reported last night... or on both sides of that road. Fuck the owners up the ass. With a giant cucumber... no wait, that's too nice. Fuck the owners up the ass with a chef's knife.

  9. Why blame him for something you have no clue if he’s at fault? This is all about small and mid-market teams.

  10. I think its fair to say MLB was never interested in finding a deal.

  12. You lost me in the 1st sentence. Negotiations imply 2 parties negotiating in good faith. That has never happened here.

  14. I wish the markets worked based on companies doing the right thing. Apple stock dropped on news it is stopping sales in Russia. Ford stock declined yesterday for the same reason. Seriously anyone who shorts because of a company stopping business in Russia is a unpatriotic piece of shit. Hold those stocks or buy more.

  15. Exactly. I get Jerry has his issues, but he isn't the anti-Christ or anything. This doesn't even fit.

  16. Won’t stop him from blaming Jerry for the next few months

  17. Based on the underlying issues and the talk about who is leading this charge, none of those fit White Sox ownership.

  19. Judging by who was leading the optimism reporting last night, I believe he could well be right.

  20. If there were a salary floor, trading a contract like Keuchel (short-term / high dollar with a good veteran presence) would be a much easier proposition.

  21. NSC is suggesting there is some kind of informal trade worked out between us and OAK for one of their pitchers. If that's the case, you can slide that person into 4 and then Keuchel/Kopech split innings on 5. I actually wouldn't be surprised if there was a market for Keuchel at a salary of like 11/12m. I wouldn't be opposed to eating 6m of the 18m this year, moving him out and saving 12m in the process and not having to worry about the whole vesting issue for next year.

  22. So, we were all glued to Twitter and SoxTalk yesterday (especially last night), and we'll be glued to both today. Then once the lockout is over, it's going to be a feeding frenzy for signings and trades, so we'll be glued to Twitter and SoxTalk again. If the lockout ends today, I'm not getting much work done the rest of the week.

  26. Honestly, if we are going to lose games, I hope the players pull up stakes and move back to a deal which really benefits them. Might as well make this lockout worth it.

  30. I am hoping its just hot air for one last push on some things. But 48 hours ago MLB was perfectly content to miss a month of games? I wouldn't be surprised one bit if the last 24 hours were completely for show to say they tried and blame the players.

  31. $100M / 30 teams = 3.333. $75M seems plenty fair to me. $20M is a joke though.

  35. The CBT is kind of odd to me in that those that benefit are not those that we are looking at to benefit. If the CBT increases I feel the top 10 percent of salaries will increase but without a floor there is no need for the middle income vets to be signed. I hope it ends today but does it change anything? Additional resources will continue to go to the small fish, the big fish pay the stars and the White Sox will still be looking for the other 50 cent..and not the one hanging upside down. Everyone seems ok with the status quo....well maybe a draft lottery but why no international draft? Am I missing something?
