People whining about a shitty offseason is not the same as saying the team is bad.8 points

McGuffey and Garfien both essentially operate as a PR wing of the White Sox. They aren't to be taken seriously.6 points
-
The criticism goes to the dumb fucks who thought it was a good idea to play him out there.6 points

Is it Ok to sign Conforto now? There’s still time to right this wrong. The injury situation appears to have arisen before the needed to be tested. Leury now our RF. Hopefully we’re talking weeks not months with AV.5 points

Love watching these DHs out of position hurting themselves.5 points

Oh god, the 1B gets injured diving for a ball in RF. No one could have seen this coming!5 points

Are you assuming that Jimenez, Robert and Grandal miss large portions of the season again?5 points
-
2nd baseman stats? He didn't hit for enough power but he put up a 4.f fWAR season. He was the third best 3B in the entire sport last year.5 points

Tampa Bay, Houston without a doubt. In fact there's a large gap between them and the Sox (in talent, in playoff experience, in coaching) I'd put the Sox in the same tier as NYY/TOR/BOS however those teams play in a much more talented division I think being in a weak division is a double edged sword for the Sox, it gets them into the playoffs but it doesn't prepare them very much for when they get there5 points

This is all so dumb because this whole thing would have been avoided by getting a real right fielder to play right field this season. It didn’t have to be Conforto. It could be anyone. Anyone who naturally plays RF. How hard is it? You spend 183 million and you can’t spend 10% more to field one position adequately. I don’t really care if Vaughn didn’t play as much because he was splitting backup LF / backup 1B / Platoon DH. He could get more seasoning this year and be full time 1b next year. Now we have to wonder if he’s even going to play this year.4 points
-
Probably because he played a lot of OF last year and didn't get injured. I'm not saying he belongs in RF . I always was wary that his speed wasn't suitable for LF let alone the harder to play RF but he did OK in LF. He has a way to go to catch up to Eloy type injuries in the OF . Buxton always gets hurt and he' one of the best athletes out there. SHit happens. Some see it as a result of playing out of position but plenty of guys get injured playing the positions they are best at.4 points
-
He's a player making a play. I can't criticize him for making the dive.4 points
-
I mean, in the most technical of senses, this is absolutely correct. But…….lolwut?4 points
-
Just like Eloy, he has the chance to be an elite bat if he can stay healthy. Problem is the Sox are putting those guys in a spot where they can get injured. One of them has to be the DH.4 points

So sad knowing how good this team could be if Jerry and the FO didn't have their thumbs up their asses and spent for a few more players4 points

The Dodgers broadcast is debating whether "Chris Taylor, Max Muncy, or Gavin Lux" will be the every day 2b, meanwhile, Josh Harrison just flew out to LF ?4 points

Why would anyone expect Kimbrel to be in mid season form his first outing of spring training. I get that he has to go, but sucking during spring training isn’t anything new to him. Hendriks threw 94 his first outing. Every year spring training is taken way more seriously than it should.4 points
-
Certain Sox fans don’t like him because he lacks emotion & fire, so they pick apart his weaknesses and ignore his strengths. The reality is that if the power ever comes, he one of the elite players in baseball. If not, he’s simply a really good player.3 points

"Dude, just stay down and maybe they'll sign Conforto and you can finally play your natural position."3 points

Is the position more or less demanding physically? I’m generally good with a catcher or 3b moving to 1b, a SS moving to 3b or 2b, a CF moving to RF or LF. The position they’d be moving to is easier. Commonly not a great idea to do those moves in reverse.3 points

Right, because players that play their natural positions never get injured there. I'm not defending the move to put Vaugh in RF, but I don't think this is a valid argument for it.3 points
-
For all the fucking idiots that were fine with a Vaughn/Sheets platoon, this is what happens when you ask guys to play out of position.3 points

Glad I got that black Robert authentic when I bought my last jersey. Hopefully will age better than my Dayan Viciedo jersey.3 points

There is 1 manager in baseball who'd bat Vaughn 9th in this lineup, particularly against a LHP the perks of having a Hall of Famer in the dugout3 points

Hope this top of the line-up scores a lot, the bottom half is the worst in baseball3 points
-
Hopefully they prioritize home field advantage more than they did last year imo.3 points

Against righties I’m good hitting him 2. Against lefties, they can hit him lower.3 points
-
Not as confident as I was earlier but rostering him makes very little sense. I’m not sure honestly. I’d imagine he gets moved still.3 points
-
It's behind a paywall or I would link it. The Athletic has the Dodgers as the favorite to win the WS with the Sox in a small group of top contenders. Once again, why are the smartest baseball minds in America writing for Soxtalk while dummies get national exposure? They just gloss over no 2nd or RF. List Kimbrel as an asset? Playing in a weak division is the only reason they will even sniff the playoffs.3 points
-
I don’t even think I want Bellinger honestly. It really sucks it has come down to a talking about a bad contract for bad contract swap when you could have just bought him out.3 points

I really hope we don't get another year from Eloy where his GB rate is close to 50%. Ball in air, man, come on.2 points

I like someones suggestion that I read the other day. If Moose can play 2B, why can't Burger?2 points
-
How true, he even had a concussion after the Field Of Dreams game after hitting his head on the fence. But very time I swear off one of his misplays he seems to hit a HR and everyones back to loving Leury. He's not a outfielder, and if we continue to play him in RF and CF as he played the other day in Spring training we are doomed. I have to disagree with Tony on this one, Leury is a utility player and nothing more.2 points
-
IMO, if the Dodgers are ready to dump Bellinger, the odds of the Sox fixing him are long.2 points

Very interesting read on Bellinger’s struggles and whether he might return to form. https://www.si.com/mlb/2022/02/16/yelich-bellinger-what-went-wrong2 points
