STOP MOVING GUYS AROUND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD5 points

Jokes aside, really awesome to see Vaughn develop before our eyes like this. He's being put in a very bad position on the diamond but it's clearly not impacting him at the plate.5 points

just DFA Abreu at this point so Vaughn can play 1B and we can have a proper OF of Pollock - Robert - Engel with Sheets at DH. I'm not joking.5 points

Andrew Vaughn is the best hitter on the White Sox.4 points

Most of us knew it and had been saying it, but that is why Vaughn was off limits in trade talks.4 points

Maybe I should start the game threads more often. Lol4 points

hes going to sit for Leury tomorrow4 points
-
imagine not offering the most dominant pitcher in the game the QO because you were scared he'd accept it.4 points
-
I mean I personally would love to hear him say his hands were tied and he isn't responsible for this stretch of more errors than runs scored. Otherwise he needs to shut up and not tell fans and the media that we are lazy.4 points
-
For real, the fuck y'all want him to say? "Eloy is a moronic gazelle, Tony doesn't know managing, and Leury Garcia can't bat." In what universe is that useful?4 points

Enough with this crap. You’ve been carrying water this whole thread about Sox not needing Rodon, and now it’s becoming the team wasn’t as good as you think and the FO made a huge mistake to not bring him back and now you backtracking to say that fans shouldn’t follow the team if they are critical and want call out the team for their fuckups? Give me a fucking break. If you want to be a fair weather fan like you do with the Blackhawks so be it, but don’t ride on your high horse when people are calling out the organization when they make mistakes. This shit about not following the team if you don’t agree with their front office is so played out.4 points

How the fuck is this surprising to anyone? I would be SHOCKED if this guy lives five more years. He's 77 years old, and looks 90. What the fuck did people expect? Every time he comes out of the dugout I expect him to have a heart attack or stroke. Hiring this guy to manage one of the youngest teams in the league was a fucking disaster day 1. It just gets worse the longer it goes.4 points
-
Imagine having this much talent and deciding it is time to tear it all down again, and rebuild. Instead of, you know, firing the incompetent fucking asshole in the dugout who handicaps the team every single game, and maximizing your talent. What a bunch of fucking idiots Sox fans are. Jesus Christ.4 points

I like that major broadcasters keep hiring Benetti to call games and some Sox fans are like "this guy sucks, take him away!" Benetti rocks. Happy for him that he gets more national exposure and glad the Sox have him paired with Stoney, who is a good balance with him.4 points

Lol. That's all I have to say. Back to ignore where you belong.3 points

Just wanted to let you guys know that I didn't watch a single minute of this game and they won. So until they lose again, I'm gonna not watch.3 points

12,363 announced attendance. So we have a pretty darned good idea of the season ticket base right now.3 points

You keep telling yourself that. They let someone walk without a QO. Rodon could have rejected the QO and it would have turned into a draft pick. More of those are better.3 points

I didn’t ask anything. I didn’t quote you, and I didn’t put a question mark in it. I said “Still rather have Keller” meaning I’d still rather have Mitch Keller (??) than Andrew Vaughn. Now obviously I don’t believe that, I was being incredibly sarcastic based on how stupid of a take it was, both then, and now. But it won’t stop being funny for quite a while.3 points

Vaughn's HR was a 92 mph fastball right down the middle. Abreu, Anderson, Grandal would have fouled it off.3 points

That is the cold Andrew Vaughn emoji3 points

Dear Tony. Play Vaughn every day.3 points

It is funny how the one place sox personnel feel they can be candid is ripping on their fan base.3 points

This statement is equivalent to the 10s of millions of people who moved to Canada when Obama/Trump were each elected to office. In other words, you're full of shit. No Sox fan is rooting for their own team to lose.3 points
-
The top two starters are/were hurt, two top hitters are hurt, the shortstop, catcher and first baseman are playing with their heads up their ass, the closer sucks, they're counting on young unproven players playing out of position, and the manager is making terrible decisions trying to turn chicken shit into chicken salad. Besides that, how was the play, Mrs Lincoln.3 points

I've been told none of this matters because he's only doing it in April, those games aren't really important to the Sox, they have the division locked up. ?2 points
-
We are 0-8 against blah teams, 7 of which are in our division. There is never a good time for this for a championship hopeful. I will die on the hill believing we went into this funk because TLR gave away that double header in Cleveland.2 points

I don't understand the dislike of Jason Benetti. He's excellent at calling games, and as someone else pointed out, he's even better working with someone other than Stone. I like them together, but their schtick gets a little annoying, especially when games are going bad. There's a reason he's being hired to do a lot of national games.2 points
-
I realize that I am in the minority here, but that whole Bill Walton shtick was cringeworthy....I muted it.2 points

I will settle for a well-played game, win or lose. It would be nice to see no errors, no dumb baserunning, and some timely hitting. It would also be nice to see no strange decisions coming out of the dugout. Let's take some baby steps here and have the team get out of the mindset it is in.2 points

JR doesn't like firing people, and he still felt bad the 1986 sacking of LaRussa. That is also why the Guillen departure in 2011 turned into a side show, and why he couldn't pull the trigger on Ventura. We can only hope things will improve as injured players return. But as much as I didn't like the LaRussa hiring, he can't be blamed for everything. Perhaps. we will have to face up to the fact that this team isn't as good as we thought. We have 140 games to find out.2 points

For those talking about Ozzie not managing in forever, he's been involved in baseball the entire time. He watches every game this team plays. All of his analysis postgame is spot on. People like to pretend that managing an MLB team is rocket science. It's not. It's mostly common sense, and listening to the numbers. Ozzie would be a HUGE upgrade over this alcoholic, dementia suffering idiot.2 points

If they are below 500 come July, then you top down blow it up. You get a new GM and do it all over again. There is no possible way you let Hahn and company fuck this up again. But let's see where they are in a couple weeks. A lot can change by then.2 points
-
Hahn's personnel decisions are more to blame for the state of the Sox than anything. Every move he made since the start of last year has been a disaster. He should be gone before Tony.2 points
-
You know who probably would’ve managed this team better this season? Ricky fn Renteria. How’s that for irony.2 points
-
What about Benetti? Honestly, he knows his stuff. He's a smart dude. I'd trust him with tactical moves. He'd be my choice.2 points

The Go Go era gave us 17 straight winning seasons and until 1960 was under the ownership of Grace and her son Chuck Comiskey. Grace died around 1957 and Chuck and sister Dorothy had a family feud with Veeck picking up the pieces in 59. We just happened to play runner up all the time to those great Yankee teams with Mantle, Berra, Ford, Skowron and Maris. At least we made to the WS in 59. Veeck was a huckster who never had enough money plus he traded away a bunch of promising youngsters after 1959, Callison Romano, Battey and Mincher were gone and in came veterans like Sievers, Freese and Minnie Minoso who gave us hope but that's all. The owner who had very good success was Arthur Allyn, the 3 best consecutive years in Sox history were in 63, 64, and 65 when the Sox rang up 94, 98 and 95 wins. We also almost won the pennant in 1967. Arthur sold to brother John and he ran out of money and we almost lost the Sox to Seattle in 1975 but Veeck came in at the last minute to keep the team in Chicago. Veeck and his syndicate barely had a pot to piss in and when free agency came around they couldn't compete with the big spenders. At least we had 1977 which as much fun as ever on the Southside. 1981 came around and brought us JR.2 points
