  1. You're like a heat seeking missile of negativity. Fathom tells you in the game thread he's been bad so you look it up and forget everything else about the player and the adjustments he's had to make in his life and all the baseball rust he's had to shake off and a recent injury he's coming back from.

  2. Absolutely despise when main board posting makes its way in here.

  3. Lol. Barely 125 PA in another country/culture. Dude can go 4-4 tomorrow and raise his average 30+ points. Chill.

  4. Maybe Kuechel will surprise everyone again...then again maybe I'm delusional. However I am 4-0 starting gamethreads against the Red Sox this year so there's that ?

  7. On a team that has Cease, Kopech, Giolito, Cueto and Velasqez, and in the middle of having 3 days off in an 8 day span, there's no excuse for Dallas Keuchel to be starting a game.

  8. Kelly is getting paid $8.5 million this year. And he'll more or less end up missing 2 months of the season out of the gate. Great job FO.

  9. 1. I never set Vaughn cant hit. 2. I said he has no business playing in the outfield...ever, and that he is one of the slowest payers on the team, which is also a problem on the bases. 3. Let's evaluate this player after the season It is a little too early now to claim he is one of the best hitters on the team. He hit .235 last year and he only has one more HR than Jake Burger now. Sounds a bit like other criticisms of players of color because they dare to show some personality or speak out.

  10. That asshole won’t have a single RBI tomorrow, guaranteed. Probably won’t even play.

  11. This year they have the 7th highest payroll in baseball. 6M below the Red Sox in 6th. We know the budget was there for the Sox to go above that because they tried acquiring Manaea. This year, the issue is a resource allocation issue, not a lack of resources.

  12. Frankly we've bad downright bad. Only some sequencing luck has us at .500 instead of 5-6 under.

  13. I’m shocked that Keuchel probably cheated his ass off to have the success he had in the past. What an unlikeable piece of shit.

  14. It's completely unaccpetable to keep punting games by pitching this guy.

  15. I know you don't do this, but people on here talk about how "soft" certain players are when they get frequent rest days, but then also don't like when someone very clearly tries to grit through injuries. It's not really fair for people to have it both ways.

  18. Any chance he can be banned from certain sub forums?

  19. Ah, right, he has to earn his right to have a personality. It’s a shame he doesn’t have the demeanor of Yoan, which goes over so well on this board.

  20. I wonder if anyone has considered telling Jerry that by signing high OBP guys you see more pitches, which means longer games, which means more beer sales?

  21. Eloy is going to come back and go on a massive run for this club!!!

  22. Not only that but he hasn't played in 2 yrs. I think he's actually doing pretty good under the circumstances.

  27. They are trying to conflate his so-called ownership of the two franchises. Not one of those six Bulls championships has anything to do with the White Sox. In the 40 of 41 years of ownership in years not named 2005, his team has won a COMBINED “5” postseason games across those four decades, with ZERO playoff series wins. It is arguably one of the most ineffective ownerships of all time.

  29. Keuchel should have been used Monday as the mop up man. Choosing Keuchel over VV made no sense then, before this game started and quite obviously now.

  36. I think Jimmy's tweet was largely in jest by the way. He just checks some of the prototypical White Sox boxes.

  37. This is why I get annoyed when people cite how many games Yoan plays as proof he’s durable. There have been so many games over the last few years where he was clearly less than 100 pct and for one reason or another was still on the field (and lacking explosion). I’m not blaming him, as it seems more of a training staff issue.

  38. Yankees will release him by the All Star break. You can only be a douche bag when you're still hitting.

  40. The white sox ownership and front office believe they are the centrists in baseball, whose continuity and common sense prevent them from getting thrown overboard chasing every new trend in baseball, and keeping a foot on traditionalist and modern team building practices. Except the traditionalists lost. So all they are doing is half-assing modernizing their team. For a small market team, not using resources to gain every advantage in player development and scouting is committing yourself to permanent mediocrity. But the white sox have more resources than the Guardians and Twins, yet cede them the advantage here. THey could crush them with the biggest and most advanced organization and payroll, but instead perform their friends and family org chart with 200 special asst to the GM for any ole pal that wants to hang.

  41. It took more guts to go to that Yankees game that he pitched, but I bought the tickets already and decided to bite the bullet, and it was one of the best well-played games and atmospheres I've been to in a while. Anything can happen!

  42. Another article from The Athletic observed how the Astros employ continuity from the Rookie league through the Big Club. Coaching techniques and development practices, while not rigidly standardized, are relatively uniform throughout the system. Terminology and general style of tailoring programs to individual development isn't much different in the Bigs than it is in the minors. Some of the upcoming Astros have remarked on this a big plus in that they're not confronted with a dramatic change in what they're doing when they hit MLB. Sure, there are constant adjustments and improvement - but that in itself is part of the Astro process. This, covering all aspects of the game: hitting, baserunning, fielding and pitching. Support this kind of 'all of one cloth' approach with advanced tech and practical deep analytics and you've probably got a high functioning program. In the Astros case, the bottom line -winning- shows the results. So do the Sox need to emulate the 'Stros? Well no, but it is only rational to take on their best ideas and Soxify them. It just makes sense. As for the garbage cans - well that's a different story.

  44. Didn't have a chance to read the game thread. Should the Sox trade every one or not after today's game?
