  2. Don’t panic. Soon the schedule will work in our favor and we can stop playing juggernauts like the Rangers.

  4. Adam Haseley is useful but they can’t promote him because La Russa is a dipshit. He’ll play him every day against righties which is an issue

  5. Burger is a great story. I hope he can stay healthy. He's been one fun thing about this frustrating season.

  6. Kath has been getting better each month. .503 OPS in April, .777 OPS in May, 1.002 OPS in June (8 games).

  7. Theses things aren’t mutually exclusive though. The players can underperform and our manager can suck balls and ultimately both cost us games. I feel pretty strongly that we’d have claim to the 7th playoff spot right now under any other competent manager. Tony himself has literally cost us multiple games with his shitty in-game decision-making alone and god only knows what the true impact of his lifeless leadership style. Firing him won’t fix everything, the players clearly need to be better, but it 100% improves our chances of winning on a game to game basis and could inject some much needed life into a team hanging on by the tiniest of threads.

  8. The year is 2389. Baseball is now played by indestructible robots. White Sox fans still believe that they are only struggling because of injuries.

  11. Injured because he pointlessly pitched on Friday. Another brilliant Tony decision.

  17. You phrased that wrong. Managers shouldn’t have that much of an impact in baseball. The “good” ones don’t. Tony La Russa has ABSOLUTELY mattered since he’s been here, and for all the wrong reasons.

  27. Thinking a broken Moncada as PH was worth the downgrade from Engel to Leury in RF is the definition of insanity. Let’s hope it doesn’t cost us here.

  33. I am there also. Left handed, former first rounder so some pedigree. Playing CF so figure decent defensively or at least improvement over our first basemen lumbering in the outfield. I am not sure he can do worse than some we have been starting. It came out the other day Grandal has been battling a knee. Put some guys on the IL to clear their heads and/or get healthy. Playing them everyday hasn't seemed to do it.

  35. I'm surely alone on this. But I'm going to add, that getting rid of La Russa removes his bad influence on roster decisions as well. I'm convinced La Russa is the root of the Sox loading up their money on relief pitchers and utility infielders instead of bonified impact major leaguers. Him running his mouth to the media on a few occasions sort of gives it away that he is the root to some of these bad decisions.

  36. I look at all the things that need to be fixed and I see one that is 100% under someone's full control. That's ending Tony's managerial career. No other change is guaranteed. But I think there is a better chance of improving lineups and better in game decisions after the first domino falls. I take no delight in seeing his career ending. I was a supporter going into this year. I believe we have some serious player issues that collectively are a bigger problem. But again this is the only change that is within someone's complete control.

  37. Aside from in-game managing, LaRussa has input on coaching staff decisions, personnel decisions and training staff decisions. They've failed in all four areas. Some of those things can't be fixed mid-season, but firing LaRussa sends a message to the players that they're going to get a better effort from the organization next offseason.

  38. It could, however, stop them from losing winnable games due to managerial gaffes. It could also light a much needed fire under this group.

  39. I think if you only saw the record and knew about the injuries and when guys are coming back, PLUS the easiest remaining schedule, you could get there and think this team has a chance to win an AL Championship. When you watch games regularly and see their inept decisions, you know there’s no way this our year.

  43. How many people on the planet think Tony has done a good job and should continue as manager? Maybe a couple dozen? Nobody wants him here. The players may say the right thing just to stay out of it, but there’s no way La Russa is bringing any value to the team in its most important year of the post-rebuild years. This guy has to go now!
