It's not fair to compare Schultz to other pitchers that tall because is body and the way he moves is very different. Most of the guys mentioned were stiff with long arm actions. Schultz is remarkably flexible and loose for his size. His delivery is very simple and he has about as short an arm action as you can get for a guy with an arm that's long as a boat oar. At a pretty young age he has the ability to sync up his delivery and repeat his arm slot which gives him a chance for above avg command. He still has things to work on like his glove side fastball command and his changeup but he has plenty of time for that. He has as much upside as any player in the draft and has a very real chance to be an ace. It was an outstanding pick.5 points

Bernstein worked well with Terry Boers who checked his worst impulses. He has lost his way after Terry retired. Since that point, listened online if there was an interesting Sox interview, but rarely even checked at that level the past few years. This latest incident with their lying afternoon producer, and the Ozzie time waster interview have pushed me to deleting the website link. It's bullshit, all of it. Never bothered with ESPN, local or the national windsocks.2 points

I think Cease would have made it if he didn't pitch Sunday. They should have named him to the ASG so he could receive the honor etc and then given his spot to Liam.2 points

Is strip club Heavenly Bodies still their top sponsor, or have they moved on to Ozzie's Blue Pills?2 points

It's tough for guys taller than 99.9% of the population to succeed, but not as hard as it is for players with names starting with "X." Think about it - you've got Xander Bogaerts and almost nothing else. Good for him for persevering and overcoming that obvious handicap, tho2 points

I think the most disappointing part is that was from the big Lebowski and he brought up F&F. I thought he watched movies2 points

you missed on the elk burger joke. The joke is you are using elk meat for the patty.2 points

Discussing Cease or Vaughn as part of a package for Soto is pointless. Sox are trying to win now. Trading away your best starting pitcher doesn't make any sense, nor does trading Vaughn. Only big name that makes sense is Eloy because he's an OF. Aside from that you'd have to put together a package full of guys like Burger, Sheets, Foster, Crochet, Martin, Sosa and even then I don't know if that's worth it.2 points

I love how 3rd place and .500 at the break is some sort of an achievement for some Sox fans. I can't wait until we get our participation trophy.2 points

I really love what the Sox have done in the first ten rounds. Shultz -- Was in contention to be a top-15 pick before mono Pallette -- Was in contention to be a top-10 pick, some thought maybe even a shot at 1-1, before TJ Cannon -- Was in contention to be a first round pick before mono Sprinkle -- Was in contention to be a first round pick and the top SS taken before some swing changes messed up his offense There is an alternate reality where all four of these guys were off the board before the Sox even picked at 26. As an Alabama alum I might have preferred Prielipp over Shultz, but he fell pretty far so I wonder if there are concerns about his medicals. Either way, hard to complain about the upside in this draft.2 points

LaRussa isn't going anywhere, and if the White Sox get their act together and win the AL Central, he'll be back next year as well. When it comes to many things, JR doesn't care about public opinion one bit. If fans want to vent, fine. Otherwise, dwelling on LaRussa is a waste of time. We can only hope that the "statement" series was really a statement.2 points

Sox are drafting guys with quality mustaches. Burke is another one with a nice stache. Dylan Cease starting a trend here in this organization.1 point

Jason and Steve both commented on the "abusive heat and humidity" in Minneapolis last weekend. Cold have easily been dehydration or related issues. Don't put money on my diagnosis, I am not a doctor..........I just play one on TV.1 point

unexplained dizziness in an otherwise healthy 20 something is always worrying. I hope it's just dehydration or something and not something more serious.1 point

They can't disclose Robert's medical condition by law. Let's say it's vertigo. That can be controlled, but if it's out there, maybe it costs him money down the road. Or, God forbid, it's something more serious. Sports talk radio cannot speculate on some guy's MRI. It's just not fair to him as a human being.1 point

I feel so stupid even partly falling for that nonsense that LaRussa had a week left. Even more than falling for all that bullshit thrown around when they were "pursuing" Machado.1 point

You had to say it twice didn't you.....just to rub it in on those of us who are vertically challenged. It gets so ugly around this place when there are no games to distract us.1 point

I'm starting to think Jerry's firing of Renteria was even dumber/more unfair than firing Tony the first time he managed the Sox. I wonder where RR will surface next? Somebody's bench coach?1 point

JR and TLR are probably working on the contract extension as we speak. KW and RH will be informed after the ink is dry. Extend Tony.1 point

Sox 4th shut out since 7/1. Hendriks, Graveman, Lopez cooking in the pen. Banks , Ruiz, Lambert been good the last month. Cease, Cueto doing very well. Kopech wearing down a bit but a gamer,Needs rest . Giolito got his change up back for a few games and he looks better his last couple starts. Lynn still looks like spring training , hopefully he comes around. In the last week the Sox have 9 pitchers with a 0.00 ERA . All have pitched at least 2 innings. If you stretch it out to the last 15 days there are still 3 guys with a 0.00 ERA an 7 guys with at 0.48, 1.17, 1.35, 1.50, 1.80, 2.84, and 2.84 with a minimum of 4.2 innings pitch and 3 starters among the 7 ,Cueto, Cease and Giolito. Need Robert so bad I hope he's OK. His last 26 games was slashing .337, .364, .587, .951 with 8 doubles, 6 HR and 30 RBI. Sox now have 4 regulars in the lineup batting better than .300. Anderson, Vaughn Abreu, and Robert. Moncada had a real good week . Sheets had a terrible week right after looking good for 3 weeks. But if I had to choose 1 to get hot it would be Moncada. He means more to the Sox. Engel had a good week after replacing Robert. 8 for 18 with a double and HR.1 point

Might not have been a must win game but it felt like it was after yesterday's game. Hit homers in the 2nd half and we should be in good shape. Cease is a beast.....and The People's AllStar.1 point

If Soto were on the block… nah, don’t torture yourself, they just don’t have the expendable assets. There wouldn’t be enough left to put a legit team around him.1 point
