2017 CHW: .256 AVG, .314 OBP, .417 SLG 2022 CHW: .258 AVG, .312 OBP, .386 SLG Thats right, our offense is on par, if not worse, than the team we fielded after waving the white flag and starting a massive rebuild. WHY ISNT ANYONE BEING HELD ACCOUNTABLE HERE?10 points

So if everyone knew Hahn put together a horrible team and TLR was such a horrible manager, and these guys suck this bad, why did so many posters here pick them to easily win the division? Most even had them winning a playoff series. What isn't happening is effort. What is happening are injuries and brain dead horseshit play. Too many players are having below average seasons. If these guys were playing like we expected we'd be bored, checking standings to see who we're playing in the first round instead of bitching half the nights.3 points

I have a hard time putting it on the players when every single position player has regressed. That's not a fucking coincidence. Their lack of power is not a coincidence. All of them having the same shit plate approach is not a coincidence. Their fundamentals disappearing is not a coincidence. Almost the entire team is having career worst seasons. It's pretty fucking obvious what the problem is here.3 points

Yeah... or, if an impact third basemen is easier to acquire this winter than an impact second basemen, do it, and move Moncada to 2B. His wishes are beginning to not matter anymore.3 points

I am convinced no one wants to get rid of a coach on this team because of the stories that would come out on the sheer incompetence.2 points

A big part of the problem is the constant focus on LaRussa by his harshest critics. OK he is a terrible Manager but they miss the main problem which is that this team lacks the talent to compete. Look at their pitching staff and position players. Kopech is what, their third best pitcher? or is that Giolito or Lynn? Vaughn is their best hitter...with 10 home runs and he is a DH with no speed on the bases. Play him in LF because Eloy might get hurt out there. . LOL. Sheets...LOL. Leury, LOL, Grandal, Pollock and Moncada LOL.2 points

Moncada was up. Len was talking about how seeing a low BA on the board can hurt you mentally, and Stoney goes off on a "tangent" that hard work pays off most of the time, mentions that "the key is to put in the hard work." He shouts out Abreu as a guy who puts in the hard work, then says that if you don't put in the work you are doing yourself a disservice. Finally, with the camera still on Moncada: "And there are a few guys -- *long pause as he obviously realizes what he is about to say* -- and this is not just on the white sox, this is all teams in the league, but there are a few guys who don't leave it out on the field every night, that is just the reality of this game." *silence* Len: "5th inning, brought to you by...."2 points

And where did he lose his ability to actually run? In his last 250 major league games he has 3 SBs. In the minors he stole 30+ per year, The prior 250 games he had over 20, and its not like your years 25-27 should make you slower, those are your peak physical years.2 points

Singles help very little in generating runs. Extra base hits help much, much more. That may seem obvious, but here's data to show how extreme this difference is. I ran two correlations on 2022 to date team stats. One between runs scored and singles hit. One between runs scored and extra base hits. A correlation is a number between -1 and 1. 1 is a pefrect correlation. There is a 100% direct impact of one stat on the other -1 is an inverse correlation. There is a 100% opposite impact of one stat on the other. 0 is no correlation. There is no impact of one stat on the other. The correlation between singles and runs is .185. This means there is very little correlation between hitting singles and scoring runs. The correlation between extra base hits and runs is .860. This means there is an extremely high correlation between extra base hits and scoring runs. This literally took me 5 minutes to do. I don't understand why a $1B+ franchise doesn't have someone pulling data like this and using it to make decisions about players and coaches.2 points

As bad as he has been, this year, he has been even worse vs. RHP, which is one of the most important functions, for which he is being counted upon: In 184 at bats, vs. RHP: AVG. .196 OBP .249 SLG . 310 OPS .559 It's hard to believe that a Major League hitter can be that bad. Apparently, there is something wrong with him. There is little sign that he is about to break out. He is not having particularly good at bats and more often looks lost, at the plate. He seems to be regressing back to his early days with the Sox, when he took so many called 3RD strikes. If he is physically unable to hit better than that, put him on the IL and bring up either Burger, Sosa, or even Romy Gonzalez, once he finishes his rehab assignment.2 points

That sounds actually awful and I would not like that at all. Let me make it clear I’m not advocating for Bradley to be a starter. I would like him to be a late sub and start very rarely. Engel should never start on this team2 points

That’s the only rational reason I can see that he’s still employed. As pathetic as that seems.2 points

With this pitching, they could be in 1st place in a week. With this offense, they could be 5 games back in a week.2 points
