  1. FYI Brooks replied to my email (not automated), and yes these kind of messages have an impact. Big respect to Brooks for answering me personally:

  2. Fucking hate TLR. Tired off that fucking guys bullshit. He's a piece of shit loser. Tired of hating my team because of that gaf.

  5. I hated when they brought this guy back. But I had no idea he could suck the life out of this roster so quickly. It's gone from one of the most likeable fun teams, to a boring team that pisses you off.

  6. I've been a fan for decades and have seen some bad White Sox baseball. But some teams were just bad. They couldn't help but be bad. At least they put in some effort and looked like a team once in a while. This team looks like it has given up. And the longer LaRussa stays, the worse it will get.

  7. Look at the turn around the Phillies have had since firing Girardi.

  8. Fuck Steve Stone fans have seen that all year. Now all of a sudden it is an issue.

  9. I just don't understand that knowing that this is not working why TLR and Menichino can't be fired. This is still a winnable division Maybe the firings wake up this team and maybe they don't. BUT is it not worth a shot??? Don't they owe that to their organization and their fans????

  11. A whole phalanx of players don't suddenly start "not performing to expectations" at the same time by coincidence. There are clearly larger issues.

  12. Tony says that the switch doesnt need to be flipped because it is on. In that case Tony believes he has a bad baseball team because theres no way you can say these guys are playing with their hearts yet they are so consistently awful. And now we'll lose a guy like Cueto who actually does play with passion by throwing him under the bus.

  13. Sure, the other owners know how much of an asshole Jerry and Tony are

  14. The right thing to do woulda been to wait a couple weeks after the postseason disappointment faded and keep Renteria. He definitely would have done better than Tony and at least the team woulda played hard for him. Tony experiment didn't work. Too old a guy. It happens.

  15. The right answer is "I am the general manager of this baseball team. They are a billion dollar business with a revenue in the hundreds of millions of dollars per year. I am going to conduct a professional search interviewing a large number of candidates because that is my job and that is the only fitting way to handle a business like this one. If you are taking the power away from me to run this team in a professional manner then you will need to find a general manager willing to accept that restriction because I cannot as that restriction means I am no longer the general manager in anything other than name only. Either you must drop that restriction or I will tender my resignation."

  16. Couldn't be. No one can be a bigger mistake than Tony. At least with Ozzie, you might have some fun. If LaRussa stays, we will see a team with a losing record. Ozzie can be no worse than that. Right now, this team is a disgrace.

  17. Ozzie calling out the media for asking Andrew Vaughn about what Cueto said...."what is the kid going to say? Cueto has been in the big leagues for 30 years and this kid has been there for like a day" Basically saying why don't you ask the veteran leaders what is going on instead of a quiet guy like AV. Good point I think.

  18. I think he lost the clubhouse last year with the whole Yermin swinging on 3-0 thing. Most baseball people (even older "purists") agree that if the other team throws a positionplayer out there any pitch is fair game in a blowout. The fact that he took his hottest hitter (at the time) and slammed him to the media then says stuff like we'll handle it inside the clubhouse...BS. I didn't like the signing when they brought him in, but it's much worse than I thought it would be.

  23. So Tony thinks .500 with an AL Central schedule is pretty good. My God, bring back Renteria. Publicly beg him. Give him 3 years. Just get this clown out of here.

  26. Just to put things in perspective, this Royals team is bad, and that's before they traded Benentendi and Merrifield. The Sox are hoping for a split. The only game they won, they squeaked beating a KC pitcher with an ERA over 6.00 and Salvy Perez taking an evening off. There is zero sense of urgency with this team. They did nothing at the deadline, and do nothing about poor game after poor game. Nothing is going to change the rest of the season. We've been waiting for something to show up that isn't going to show up.

  27. I think it’s clear they lost the clubhouse when they fired Renteria (not that I’m defending RR, he had his issues, but at least the team played hard for him). But instead of improving on RR they downgraded to a senile old curmudgeon baseball hoF person.

  29. Don’t want this limited to the game-thread. At this point, fire Tony & Frank and let Cueto have both jobs in addition being one of our better starters.

  30. Nearly every baseball fan in America is a Tony La Russa fan. Just about every Twins, Tigers, Guardians, Royals, Astros, Athletics......... fan loves Tony La Russa and hope he and Jerry are in their roles into the 2030s.

  31. The game v Texas when there were no base runners or balls that left the infield was the worst. It's rather comical that now Stone is pointing out things that people have ragged about all season. This season ended around the time of the Yermin HR last year. the team has been listless since then and I am not certain what is even happening now with this team now. The fact the drunk asshole can't see what is blatantly obvious is just sad. I haven't even looked at the score today, just rolled through the game thread at work. I have eaten 3 tickets to three games recently and do not plan on using the 3tickets I have to the last four games of the season. I was not excited even a little bit after the lockout and care even less now. I just want the season to end.

  32. Maybe they will trade him for a former number 1 prospect with make-up issues and a flame thrower that loses his fastball as a starter?

  34. It's so weird that this team constantly thinks of their fans as ungrateful, yet it's in a city with another baseball team that happens to be more popular. I really don't understand where the arrogance is coming from.
