The worse part in all of this is the fact that the Cubs suck right now…an aggressive Sox team had a chance to own this decade and put a real test on who the major market Chicago team really is. They can still do that but boy did they fuck up those odds big time. I go back to Harper…said it a million times…I would have rolled the truck up For him. He was a name, a face of baseball and the type of person people just go out to watch play and they legit could have had him. Manny is and was the better player but Harpers star power would have been huge in the battle for the media market but Sox are fine being small fish in big pond. They could have went for the kill so many times but never did…and it isn’t changing with this owner.6 points

Day to day so he won't play for 4 games and will then inexplicably be DL'd5 points

For one I legitimately have no idea what this paragraph has to do with anything, but if I did, I'd still be confused why "all the kids" in Chicago have Tatis jerseys and invested their time in the Padres5 points

and somehow 12 random Padres from the 90’s will be mentioned5 points

It took 3 games for Soxtalk to go from "Wtf is Tony doing? Sosa needs to play every day" to "Is Sosa a career AAAA player? He needs to be sent down" LOL4 points

The same guy who saw Tim Anderson at the airport is now reporting that Frank Menechino was spotted with some of the boys at Admiral Theatre last night. Sounds like all of the guys were near the main stage making it rain with singles, not one of them went for a private dance. Just thought you all should know.4 points

Tatis would be a singles hitting second baseman/left fielder shuttling back and forth between Chicago and Charlotte because we can't cut Leury Garcia and he got in a fight with TLR about doing something cool on the field. TLR is a multiversal black hole that ruins all White Sox timelines.4 points

It took Kopech throwing a no hitter through 6 and using all our best bullpen guys to beat the Tigers on a night where they started a guy with a ERA near 7. That's a win in the standings, but a definite loss to the ego.3 points

Guess who's been hitting for a ton of power for the Mets and was acquired for basically nothing?3 points

Oh, I know why it was done. It is still a sentence that should NEVER be muttered in Major League Baseball.3 points

45 fielding is still a significant improvement over having 1Bs in the outfield and a plus arm is very valuable in RF. If dude is handling CF in the minors I think he should be at least a 50 in RF. IMO, power is more like 65 than 60. And they're underrating the hit at 50. Dude is wiping his dick across the faces of AA pitching and is now walking more and seems to be chasing less. But they think he's like a 255 hitter in MLB? Thats a littlr light. This guy should be a 275/340/520 guy. Hit is 55. If this dude keeps hitting a bomb like every other day he should be a top 50 prospect savage by the end of the year.3 points

Currently Colas is at #99. Hard to see how some of these guys *cough* Brennan Davis *cough* are ahead of him, but BA is stubborn when they've been wrong on guys. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2022-top-100-prospects/3 points

Imo he always was a little suspect because his athleticism got so much better after sox traded him. It is not uncommon that young guys get stronger but he also got faster and more explosive which is a rare thing. When he was signed he was seen more as like a solid 50 runner but not a 70 runner, his arm also got a lot stronger. Not saying Hahn didn't mess it up and he was a solid prospect but not that huge physical freak.2 points

I would also, especially if my dad played with some of the biggest juicers ever2 points

Engel has the same OPS + as Pollock (79), but unlike Pollock (or Sheets, or Vaughn) can actually play RF. Is he injured or hated by Tony, seeing he has started two games since July 26? Engel isn't great by any means, but he is a good fielder and the drop-off in hitting isn't that large. He definitely should be starting more than 1 time a week with the horseshit RF options the White Sox have this season.2 points

I remember the 1990 team as one of my favorites. Their leading home run hitter was Carlton Fisk with 18. They had no superstars; Frank Thomas had been just called up in August. Their motto was "Doing the Little Things." Little things were advancing runners, getting runners home from third with less than two outs, turning the double play. They won 94 which was good for the third best record in baseball. The White Sox need to do the little things if they want to get over .500.2 points

Is it safe to say the Tony La Russa hire is the all time worst move in franchise history?2 points

Well let's get into it then. If Yoan Moncada is lazy and has no work ethic, what work is he not doing? Is he not watching video? Working in the weight room? Fielding practice? Batting practice? Is he not reporting to the team on time? Leaving early? He is not doing the drills he is supposed to be doing. That stuff is work ethic. If you know something about his true work ethic, I would love to hear it. Two things that aren't falling under this category. #1 bad ABs- Getting out guessed or having a generally shitty AB isn't "work ethic" otherwise all of baseball has a bad work ethic. #2 when the manager tells players not to run hard so they don't aggravate injuries, that isn't a lack of work ethic either. The final thing that we need to be doing less of is applying American standards of what looks like caring to non-American players. Our cultural norms are not what is normal in Cuba, the Dominican, or any other not Anglicized cultures. The way players like Yoan were modeled to react like, it not the same as what guys like Andrew Vaughn and Adam Engel got. I know the whole fake hustle, fiery anger, and big temper tantrums are the way you show you care in American sports, but it isn't the same in the rest of the world, and we need to quit expecting Yoan Moncada to act like Nick Madrigal. Just because machismo dictates that he shouldn't show he is angry, when you want to see something else, doesn't mean he is lazy or lacks a work ethic. Body language relates to cultural norms. If you feel like Moncada has an attitude problem that is one thing. But an attitude problem and being lazy aren't the same thing, and it is lazy to use them interchangeably.2 points

A whole phalanx of players don't suddenly start "not performing to expectations" at the same time by coincidence. There are clearly larger issues.2 points
-
Kind of ridiculous to suggest or consider this option. I really don’t think this a GM or ownership problem. Injuries to key players and others not performing to expectations are the main concern2 points

I emailed Brooks, my ticket rep, and a few others when TLR was hired stating my disgust and my intention to boycott season tickets and merchandise. I did get seemingly genuine answers from a few, but it was obvious the level to which they had to toe the company line and were powerless to do anything. While it made me feel a bit better to vent, it just showed how insulated the higher ups were from any fan criticism/opinion. I don't discourage anyone from calling/emailing/not renewing tickets etc, but temper your expectations for change. I would love for any fan action to impact their decision making for the better, but it's not something I could ever truly expect to make a difference. Just my 2 cents.2 points
