  1. Can we just have a fire everyone thread? First base coach - accused rapist ✅ third base coach - leads league in players thrown out at home ✅ miguel Cairo - does he even exist? ✅ TLR - too many reasons to list ✅ training staff/strength conditioning staff - ✅ analytics department - Duncan’s son ✅ Hahn - ✅ Jerry - ✅ I could careless if any of these people come back next year.

  2. Translator: "Today's game has been postponed because we don't want our shitty offense to have to face the best pitcher in MLB and potentially lose another game of ground to the White Sox, so we'll take our chances that we'll get any of the other 4 starters later in the year"

  3. I will gladly pack a fucking lunch for each and every one of them.....PBJ, capri sun, and a hostess hoho as my parting gift. Maybe a Little Debbie....their choice.

  4. Blue sky and the sun is out. They haven't done a thing to the field in over an hour. They didn't want to face Cease on a short turn around from last night.

  5. To borrow from a famous local politician: YES WE CAN! Anyway, this entire season is worthy of a front office house cleaning, right? We surely didn't endure the latter half of the 2010s for this, did we? This got me thinking, if there is a new front office, which by all rights there should be, with all the holes they'll be looking at filling, while simultaneously having a roster with admittedly a lot of talent, would another rebuild be the best option? A lot could be had for Cease, Kopech, Vaughn, Anderson, Robert etc. You could probably also get some halfway interesting pieces for some of the other players as well. I think with a competent ownership group and front office, investing everything into scouting and development and starting over would be the obvious choice, which is why I'm hesitant with the current ownership group even if they did put a new front office in place.

  6. The one benefit is the re scheduled game probably won't be on Peacock. I wasn't paying

  7. Yeah but they still had to be at the ballpark for 5 or 6 hours. An unplayable field should not happen in MLB. Cleveland needs to be forced to spend millions fixing their drainage.

  8. Cleveland is real good at postponing games they don't want to play.

  9. I feel like no matter what TLR is doing, it always includes some level of “mulling around.”
    3 points
  10. And this is critical since most White Sox fly balls get caught there.

  11. It stopped raining two hours ago and it doesn't appear that they've been even trying to get that water cleaned up. This is the baseball equivalent of a high school kid pulling the fire alarm because he didn't study for his geometry test.

  12. Thank you CC for your comments about TLR. Many of us have known this for quite a while. It is good to get confirmation from a pro like you.

  13. I guess we should add Roger Bossard to the 'Do not Fire' list.

  16. It’s nice that the White Sox finally have a leader. Thanks Cueto.

  18. it was a dumb play but i get why super joe did it he saw about 4 nights in a row where he held the runner and he never scored.

  19. Joe has now survived three managers by my count. I'd be surprised if he's going anywhere. More lifetime employment without accountability.

  20. You never want to see anyone get hurt but in the long run this may help the Sox. Grandal was struggling the entire season yet TLR keep using him. Now he can't.

  21. Johnny Cueto = J.C. Jesus Christ = J.C. Coincidence?

  22. Looks like a good list to me

  23. That's waaaaaaaay too many questions from the local press.

  24. Cueto goes 8.2 innings and Liam Hendricks get the save as the Sox cut the Guardians lead in the Central to 2.5 games. Looks like Grandal seriously hurt his knee trying to score from 2nd on a no out single by newcomer Elvis Andrus. Grandal should 've been pinch ran for once when he led off the inning with a single or when he reached 2nd on a wild pitch with the Sox clinging to a 1-0 lead at the time in the top of the 7th inning. The injury is squarely on TLR and McEwing for sending him home with no outs where he tried to avoid a tag and his knee buckled . But he was out by a mile.

  25. Don't forget they made the Sox reschedule a game already where just their coaches tested positive for covid. That should have 100% a forfeit

  26. Well out 2 weeks is better than an acl. We’re paying Yaz next season so may as well try to get him 100% so he can catch 60-70 games, take his walks and hopefully find some power. But don’t rush him back in 2 weeks, this season just isn’t meant to be for Yaz.

  27. That shouldn't be allowed. If you can't get your field playable you should forfeit.

  32. Injuries to Leury and Grandal have improved the team substantially IMO.
    2 points
  33. However, there were no outs and Grandal is the slowest runner in the majors. It was a dumb and costly send. In hindsight, we should have pinched run for Grandal, it was the 7 th inning and a critical run. But I guess we would not have then a replacement if needed for Sevy..

  34. Sox really need this one. Big difference between 1.5 and 3.5 GB. Cleveland has a very tough next 12 games. 2 at San Diego then 4 at Seattle followed by 3 at home against Baltimore and 3 at home against Seattle. All 3 of those teams are fighting for a playoff spot.

  35. Props to Elvis Andrus for stealing 3rd in that same inning and then scoring when the Guardians failed to cut the ball off on a shallow FB to RF and the throw home one hopped and knocked the catcher's mask off and rolled about 8 feet away in foul territory along the 1st base line to score the White Sox 2nd run in the 2-0 victory.

  36. Add KW to the list. Also, before you start firing the analysts, shouldn’t the Sox hire some?

  37. I truly wish the young players on this team suck this up and appreciate what Cueto is doing out there. You don't have to be the best to get the job done in this league, but just do your job. It's that simple.

  41. Should have waited until he get two strikes to put hendriks in

  42. Cueto is one of the greatest free agent pitcher signings in team history. If Lynn doesn't hurt his knee, he is somewhere else, and the Sox are playing out the string.

  43. Abreu has carried this team for the last 9 seasons.
