You mean hiring a 77 year old guy, with health concerns, and a history of alcohol abuse, was probably a terrible idea? You don't say. People have been questioning his health and mental health since....he was fucking hired. This is just such a shocker, right? Just reinstates what a TERRIBLE FUCKING HIRE this was to begin with. I don't wish ill upon TLR, but I'm sure he will be fine. This reeks of giving a guy a respectable out, for someone who never should have been hired to begin with.8 points

If this isn't an indictment of TLR sucking the life out of everything I don't know what is.7 points

At this point I'm convinced Herm was actually a cleric who just channeled healing magic while walking around the stadium.4 points

Weird how they wouldn't just put him on the paternity list, even if gone for a day or two. They really love playing with a short roster.4 points

White Sox organization gets an F in business management. Hahn buddies at Harvard should do a case study on the Sox and what not to do.4 points

You're just in denial because of your own personal feelings for Tony. The guys in that clubhouse love and respect him. They're playing hard for their ailing skip.3 points

Wasn’t it public knowledge that Eloy was going to have periods of leg soreness after he tore his hamstring?? Not sure why all the hate for a guy who’s been decent since the all star break and this also happened a couple of weeks ago and he was in the lineup the next day. Let’s just see if he’s in the lineup tomorrow. Without him, this lineup is truly pedestrian.3 points

I think I'm on the "if we can trick a team into giving up quality for Eloy, he's the one to go" train.3 points

Weirdly enough his season this year reminds me of Yuli Gurriel's last year. Gurriel won the batting title last year, ok power but not really enough to scare anyone. Mediocre defender at 1B. Gurriel is a few years older but if that's where Jose's career is really headed I'm not sure you bring him back next year.3 points

Jose is consistently behind the count when there's guys in scoring position. He goes up there trying to make contact no matter where the pitch is. He gets down in the count and then swings at some terrible breaking pitches cause pitchers know they don't have to go in the zone with him with 2 strikes. His struggles in those situations are all mental and approach related. He's in his own head.3 points

Josh Harrison’s last solid season was in 2017. Pollock is 34, has a bad arm, and played less than a dozen games in RF. What woukd make Rick Hahn think it was a position he could play? Kelly’s contract stated he couldn’t pitch in consecutive games over the first three months of the season. What other GM would take on that “gamble”, let alone for a second season at $2M more? This wasn’t supposed to be a tanking team trying to fill out three key positions with mid 30s guys on their final contracts.3 points

Hahaha, I nailed it. God forbid we give a guy in Mark Payton who has done nothing but earn it in AAA, in order to save the 40 man roster spot of 2-3 relievers who will never step foot in the Chicago clubhouse again. Fucking unbelievable. I am sure Payton would suck, but we already know Haseley sucks and Payton has measurably outplayed him in AAA. In any event, Haseley goes right back to Charlotte on Monday when Yoan returns.3 points

So he will have been out 10 days but not on the IL. My God this organization is inept.3 points

The time for win streaks are OVAH! That ship has sailed. These last two seasons were wasted away by a pathetic owner, worthless VP/GM and senile, drunk and now unhealthy manager! Guardians have 34 games left to the Sox 32 games. Guardians finish: Sox need to then finish: 17-17 22-10 .685 16-18 21-11 .656 15-19 20-12 .625 14-20 19-13 .593 With the bottom .593 scenario, and that is if you truly believe the Guardians will choke and go 14-20, then understand this reality: the Sox have never played .593 ball over any 32 game stretch this season. The best case scenario if we truly want massive change in this pathetic organization, is for this Sox team to lose as many games as possible. Jerry needs to be embarrassed to the maximum level, so he is ripped and feels the heat by the national and local media sources.3 points

Except AV is a good bet to be close to as good as Abreu and you don’t have to ruin his value by sticking him in The OF, and he costs 1/30 as much as Abreu will. It also opens DH for Eloy and frees ~$15M AAV to sign a real OF that helps other team needs. Look, I love Jose Abreu. Build him a statue. I don’t think the org will let him walk. But they absolutely should.3 points

2022 RISP Jose: .244/.344/.472 Vaughn: .341/.392/.455 2022 RISP w/ 2 outs Jose: .237/.357/.475 Vaughn: .342/.413/.439 2022 "Late and Close" Jose: .292/.378/.319 Vaughn: .294/.342/.544 Yet this board is desperately trying to jettison the younger guy that is only getting better. You have your 1B of the future, slot him cleanup every day and let the man hit. Hell, he'd likely lead the league in GIDP and carry on Jose's legacy.3 points

Payton has earned a promotion. It's a bad message to send down to your farm when you refuse to promote, all because you want to hoard bad players on a 40 man roster.2 points

Good thing guys like Yoan Aybar and Jason Bilous are on the 40 man. 6 total OFers on our 40 man, and 2 of them (Eloy and Vaughn) are debatable at best, as OFers. What a debacle this organization is.2 points

The mets are fun as shit. It may be bandwagon as hell but they're gonna be my NL team since I live here and most of my die-hard baseball following friends in the city are Mets fans, including my brother-in-law.2 points

And this interim manager should be Ozzie Guillen. As the only manager to win a world series on the south side in most of our lifetimes, let's see if he can create similar magic or if this team needs to be blown up. Tony may be done forever and it's not too soon to start thing about the future. Br>ng back the greatest manager ever and let's win a ring in Tony's honor.2 points

Yeah I'm going with this. He's too old to be managing. It's too hard on him. He'll simple retire due to health related issues.1 point
