They need some sort of Truman show set up for tlr where he thinks he is managing but it’s a soundstage17 points

To be fair most people don't think he understands line ups because of the last 300ish games he has managed. Pretty much all of baseball has joined in the sentiment.6 points

Amazing what happens when Leury and Harrison don’t have to take clutch at bats.6 points

Lance Lynn pitched 6 innings giving up 3 hits 2R and 0 ER with 6 K and 1 BB Sox with another 20 hit game including a 3 run HR from Elvis ANdrus. Jimenez was 3/4 with 3 RBI Pollock and Vaughn each went 4/5 with 2 RBI from Vaughn. Harrison went 3/4 with a walk but looked bad in the field. Only 2 of the Sox 20 hits weren't singles.5 points

We have what every baseball fan wants . meaningful games in September, with our team playing well . I have a hard time saying this, but at least while they are playing Cleveland, Go Twins!!5 points

The big difference has been very consistent line ups. Some changes, but the main guys are in same spot daily, and out there almost every day. Also Leury has been buried.5 points

Disagree. Like most elderly people, Tony has become a caricature of his former self. Little quirks become huge obsessions to most people as they reach old age. Fella, TLR has reached old age. He is no longer a competent manager. Any one who has watched his performance and can't see it, is being willfully blind. If this comment hurts your fellings, TOUGH S#$%.5 points

Who would've thought playing guys like Leury, Harrison, etc. less would make such a difference...... f*** off Tony.4 points

He's been a bit unlucky, but his stuff just gets lit up by good teams. The Astros have absolutely abused him this year. You only need 3 starters in the first round and I'd rather take Kopech as the 4th starter in the division series just off stuff alone.3 points

I have noticed that we havent been IBBing players in critical situations with 1-2 counts since the corpse has been gone.3 points

He was better off staying retired. This team needed someone like A.J. Hinch instead of TLR. Just because he had an outstanding managerial career in the past, doesn’t mean he would succeed in today’s game. He isn’t the only reason this team was dog s%*# for most of the year, but he did make questionable decisions and there’s no question that the team has played better without him.3 points

I wish this alcohol guzzling geriatric motherfucker would stay away from the team. I'm really getting pissed off he wants to return to ruin everything. I'm beyond triggered.3 points
-
Tony claimed each year he meets with the players and if they don’t want him back, he doesn’t return. Cut to the chase and players must tell Tony don’t return now, motherfucker, when they see him tonight or tomorrow.3 points

One more thing on this topic. Is calling me "full of s%*#" considered a personal attack? I've been told that personal attacks are a no-no. Please review the board rules. Also, there is someone talking politics in the game thread. Slap a ban on him, please! Rules are rules.3 points

Moncada is not a bust, in the slightest. He has woefully underperformed offensively this year, but he still has 1.1 WAR in 83 games. Even with his terrible stats this year he still has a 3.6 WAR / 162 career average.3 points

Who has said that? Who has said Tony LaRussa is fully responsible for the team's struggles this year? There is literally a thread directly under this one titled "Fire Rick Hahn" with over 375+ responses, along with countless threads on Jerry, Menechino and really anyone else associated with this organization. Additionally, when you mention that "he majority of the fanbase had their mind made up about Tony the moment he was hired.." you fail to mention the main reason people were actually against the move. He hadn't managed in a decade when brought back to the Sox, and in 2020 did an interview Graham Bensinger where he said "Observational analytics are being disrespected....percentages don't really take into account the head, the heart and the guts of a player that day, so there are times I'd like to get back and help correct the balance." That was troubling for many reasons, and gave fans major concern in 2021 given the success franchises have had in installing advanced analytics. Any by your own account, you "dont think Tony has done a particularly "good" job as Sox manager." So what is the crusade you are going on? You think people don't like him and are rooting against him because of his politics and his age? Really? You don't think fans would look past that if this team was 12 games up on the Twins right now? You're full of s%*#.3 points

Just win all 4 and you have the tiebreaker. They need to set it up so Dylan sees them twice and Lynn and Cueto start the other 2.3 points

I'm starting to get really concerned that there is no longer a game 163. We need to win 3 out of the 4 games we've got with Cleveland.3 points

Rick Hahn, if you truly are the GM, and you truly love the Sox, then tell Tony to take the rest of the season off and hold a damned press conference and stand by your decision “out of an abundance of caution for his health”. Take the ax if you have to. Be actually in charge for once in your damned career.3 points

Tony doesn’t deserve to ever step foot in that dugout again. Now let’s go twins. Man does that feel dirty to type.3 points
-
I don't think the players necessarily hate Tony and I'm sure there might be an ounce of truth to them winning "for him". But the atmosphere in the dugout and the results definitely say that the team is better off without him.3 points

Wow what a come back !! When Eloy Jimenez hit a solo HR with 1 out to make the score A's 3 White Sox 1, little did we realize the Sox would have an epic come back. When Pollock followed that with the 2nd out that advanced a runner to 2nd it looked like the end. That was followed by a Vaughn single that made it 3-2. Seby got hit by a pitch and Romy Gonzalez tied the game with a single to LF. Elvis Andrus followed that up with a double for 2 more runs. Liam Hendriks walked the leadfoff hitter but followed it with a K and a DP ! Final White Sox 5 A's 32 points

They can't win them all, but I know what you mean. I have been impressed with Romy G the past few series. His D is excellent and he has proven to be a clutch hitter with occasional power. There is no reason to put Leury or Harrison at second. If/When TA comes back, a decision will have to be made about where to deploy Elvis. I am not sure what I would do to be honest.2 points

So no one has said what you claimed, got it. So there is no data behind your claim, but almost like “observational analytics” right? For someone you don’t think has done a very good job with the Sox, seems like a weird hill to die on. But knock yourself out.2 points

The runs scored in that span: 7, 4, 7, 4, 13, 1, 3, 0, 9, 14, 5 Average of 6.09 runs per game.2 points

Man those first 8 innings were brutal to watch. But the last inning made it all worth it2 points

Tony's just too old to have that kind of energy. Unless somebody swings on 3-0 against a position player.2 points

Y'all think Tony was watching? Games like this can't be good for his heart....2 points

Cairo just has so much more life in him that gives the team some energy. I think it was after the 2nd run scored they showed Cairo basically walking back from the end of the dugout, I assume from giving props to whoever it may have been. Tony barely moves2 points

I can’t tell if this is the most elaborate ruse in this thread, or if this is actually how someone in this thread feels. Bravo if it is the former, my condolences if it is the latter.2 points
