  1. I just want him to come and and tell the truth. "Guess what? Yall were right! We fucked up! I don't know how to spend money on players and my boss wouldn't let me choose my manager. We don't know how to keep players healthy, motivated, or accountable. We don't encourage hustling because our players will probably get hurt, even though they are PROFESSIONAL FKING ATHLETES. Go ahead. Rail on us. We deserve it. To all the White Sox fans, I know you don't care that I say this, but I'm sorry. This org needs change from top to bottom. And I will be the first to set the example. I quit."

  2. I know a portion of this video has been posted in other threads, but I thought this was so good it needed its own. I encourage everyone to watch the entire 16 minute video. It is exactly how every invested Sox fan is feeling right now, and a great summary of all the bad decisions that were made that made this rebuild a complete failure. The White Sox, as a WHOLE, should be ashamed of themselves.

  3. They had a chance to change the game, change the fan demographic of Chicago and grab a whole generation of young fans nationally. They could have been the face of baseball. And they whiffed on that chance over saving 10s of millions.

  8. Most here were thrilled with all the extensions. Hahn was complimented for getting it done.

  9. Looks that we might have gotten lucky with Lucas saying no to an extension.

  11. I never want to hear Rick Hahns shitty fucking voice making up excuses ever again. Guy is a total clown and has no business being anywhere near the front office of any team, let alone this one.

  12. It's never been about the managers or coaches. At least for me. Players. They're quitters.

  14. I'm really torn between enjoying watching the Sox get their asses kicked and wanting to eat a bullet listening to the two biggest fucking dorks to ever broadcast a baseball game. My god this is excruciating.

  16. Let me jump back in my own topic to break it down a bit further. CAN'T STAY HEALTHY Batters C - Grandal SS - Anderson 3B - Moncada CF - Robert LF/DH - Jimenez Burger (AAA/Majors) Mendick Pitchers SP - Kopech SP - Lynn RP - Bummer RP - Foster RP - Velasquez RP - Kelly APPEARED ON IL IN 2022 LF/CF - Pollock LF/RF/1B/DH Vaughn CF - Engel RP - Hendriks CAN'T HIT LEFT HANDED (or hit RIGHT HANDERS) Moncada Grandal Pollock Most of the rest of the right handers CAN'T FIELD Vaughn (OF) Sheets (OF) Jimenez (Anywhere) Anderson (SS) Grandal (C) -- can't hold baserunners Zavala (C) -- is he better this year? He was bad last year. HAS AN ALBATROSS CONTRACT 3B - Moncada C - Grandal (for 2023) LF - Pollock (player option) IS BELOW LEAGUE AVERAGE SP - Giolito SP/RP - Velasquez RP - Ruiz RP - Kelly RP - Diekman 2B - Harrison LF - Pollock 3B - Moncada C - Grandal CF - Engel 2B - Gonzalez Util - Garcia The ONLY players who are above league average and who play every time they are called on are: Jose Abreu, who is a free agent Dylan Cease Johnny Cueto, who is also a free agent Davis Martin (barely above with 106 ERA+) Kendall Graveman Reynaldo Lopez Jimmy Lambert Not sure you can build your team around 7 guys, 2 of whom are free agents.

  17. Its been said before, but it is absolutely ridiculous that the same regime that caused the team to go into a rebuild was allowed to rebuild said team. You just really don't see that in professional sports.

  18. I mean, I definitely would have thought that a team with anderson, robert, moncada would have been hell on a team on the basepaths back in 2019. Instead they all look like Grandal. Watching the guardians the last two nights just eat us up...it's just like what the f*** is this team. How did they all become this mopey bullshit have to save myself for tomorrow b.s. every day. I love Abreu. I love TA. But if this is what the teams always look like under them as leaders...good riddance.

  19. I really don't care about anything Hahn will say after the season. I have lost total faith in him and this organization. The rebuild is failing, and it was something they staked their reputation on. I have no expectations at this moment.

  20. Cool. That’s doesn’t make him wrong.

  21. Laurence is the only major Sox voice hip to one of the worst things Hahn did, which was guaranteeing Moncada, Eloy and Robert in exchange for 2 total years of extra control (and not for free, it will cost 45 million to exercise that control). Obviously, the primest of prime years of a super star player are very valuable, and these moves were universally celebrated at the time, but in hindsight it definitely appears that KW/Hahn knew their future was tied to these players, so there was no reason not to lock them in.

  22. Sox go out with a whimper. Most boring disappointing season I can remember in a long time. Poor old Tony kind of set the tone for the season I hate to say just from his being 77 and mumbling all the time and looking lethargic. This team fittingly should finish .500. It doesn't deserve to finish over .500. It's a .500 team. Hard sell for ticket customers for 2023. I guess you make a highlight film of Eloy and Cease and try to sell them as worth the price of admission.

  23. You will be told Colas needs to work on fielding and get more time against AAA pitching. You will be told Eloy Jimenez, Gavin Sheets and Andrew Vaughn have worked on their fielding during the offseason and in Arizona, and are ready to make big strides. You will be told free agent acquisition (insert Wil Myers, Adam Duvall, Robbie Grossman or Mitch Haniger) is a steady veteran, an asset in Right Field who will provide leadership in the clubhouse, and play hard everyday. You will be told Yasmani Grandal, Luis Robert, Tim Anderson, Eloy Jimenez. Yoan Moncada, Michael Kopech, Lance Lynn, Garrett Crochet, Joe Kelly, Kendall Graveman, Jake Diekman and Liam Hendriks are healthy and determined to win a World Championship entering 2023.

  26. Maybe the funniest thing of the year is they brought Pollock in to play RF and it took one game for those plans to change

  27. TLR is transitioning? Is that the medical procedure that he has been having done?
    2 points
  28. Yep. At this point, since we know they won’t come back, I want them to finish under .500 10+ games behind the Guardians.

  29. You are absolutely correct. The offseason was such a failure. That alone would cause most organizations whose goal is multiple championships to make a change. Although I will say calling some of the acquisitions complimentary role players is giving them way too much credit. Not only did he mess up for 2022, he put them in a bigger bind in 2023. Diekman? Pollock? They needed a left handed hitting RF. They could have bought out Kimbrel for $1 million. Even an platoon lefty complimentary player would have been so much better. They get Pollock, who apparently can't play RF, and remember who this organization has no problem putting in RF, he can't hit RHP either. And both of these idiots will be on the books next year. If he did absolutely nothing, he would have outperformed what he did. He has to go. Larry was spot on. The one thing I really caught was how you know if somehow they pulled this out, we would have gotten a we told you so. I hope they are humbled knowing people taking their order at Potbelly's knew they were way off this year even when they didn't.

  31. Everything after the first 9 games of this season has been absolute garbage. People deserve to be fired, but I am pretty sure there will be little to no accountability for this disaster of a season.

  32. We don't have a huge amount of talent. The stats will tell you that. I'm struggling to find anyone all that talented . My definition of talented is on field results which includes actually playing a lot of games. Among the position players who does that describe? Just Abreu and Anderson and Anderson cratered this year like so many others on this team. Others have flashed vast amounts of talent like Jimenez, Moncada and Robert but injuries and whatever is wrong with Moncada have neutered them. Vaughn doesn't have any value playing the OF. He might become a very good hitter but 1st baseman need to be a power bat. There's plenty of guys a lot faster who play better defense in lots of positions with 1+ fWAR (Vaughn currently with .4). In other words it would take 10+ Vaughns to equal 1 Steven Kwan. Grandal has hit rock bottom and thinking he can recover is like thinking Moncada can recover and Eloy and Robert can stay healthy enough to actually put back to back full seasons (140 min. games) together. In other words good luck with that. TLR is just a by product of a terrible system because of the owner. TLR , Hahn both have done terrible jobs but getting rid of both is like cutting high branches off a mighty oak. It will be barely noticeable because JR is the oak. He's operated the same way since he owned the team. The rebuild was doomed to failure from the start but they can always blame Covid, The CBA, lockouts and late spring training when it's actually ineptitude from top to bottom in the organization.

  34. We have a 4% chance of winning the wildcard, SO THERES A CHANCE... but im also hoping we lose every game from here on out just to see Hahn squirm. Worst GM in the league

  35. I've never admired Hahn as a GM. I thought he should have been replaced years ago. I don't envy him. He has to make some hard decisions this off season. Moncada and Grandal are making some serious money and both of them are useless. They have to be replaced before the 2023 season. Grandal has one more year on his contract and they might just release him and eat the money. Moncada is owed $48 million over the next 3 seasons. They are going to have a hard time moving him to another team. I would think the only way to move him would be to pickup most of the money owed him. Moncada hasn't hit since 2019 and his defense is starting to go bad. He looked awful defensively in last nights game. I think this off season is going to very interesting.

  41. They can be fixed just not by Rick Hahn. He'll never admit he was wrong and make the neccessary decisions needed to improve the team. He'll just run it back with a couple different utility players and bullpen arms and hope for better results.

  42. Why would anyone believe in this teams core? They faded and got demolished in the playoffs last season and then couldn't even win this lousy division this season. The roster is aging, injured, and under-performing and they have an owner who is more interested in hiring his buddies or ex players than actual competent managers. There is very little to raise hope with this organization.
