  1. I actually don't hate the trade TA idea. It just depends on what the offers look like. TA should have a good bit of value, he's not a good SS, and I am speculating here, but the whole ASG announcement thing and clear lack of leadership in clubhouse this season makes me think he may not be favorite in the clubhouse. If you can get a nice return for him, I'd be open to it...he only has 2 years of control. That being said, my price to move TA would be very high, I am not just moving him to the highest bidder. You also need to find a SS now in that scenarioideally one that can field their position. We all know the Sox won't be in the running for the high end FAs. Also, your avoid all NL players take continues to be just an awful one.

  2. I'm in the minority, but I think TA should be traded. I've had just about enough of his change the game attitude towards baseball. He should be the one changing his game to become a better defensive SS.

  3. I feel like Tim could have said the exact same thing and people here would be saying "Jerry, pay this man his money!".

  7. Just don't use Martin being a pleasant surprise as an excuse not to build up more rotation depth.

  9. Eloy has taken a massive step forward this year as a hitter. just stay healthy. please.

  10. I do agree we need to get younger, quicker and better defensively with youth. We need to keep the young core of Cease, 26 yrs old, Robert, 25 yrs old, Eloy 25 yrs old, Vaughn, 24 yrs old. the rest can all be traded.

  11. Don’t kid yourself, Jerry knows perfectly well Hahn doesn’t know his ass from a hole in the ground when it comes to being a GM, same as he knew Gar Pax were incompetent boobs. Jerry doesn’t give a s%*# were the White Sox finish, although it is known second place is his preference. Jerry likes Hahn personally and thus Hahn will be here fucking things up for as long as Hahn kneels to kiss Jerry’s pinky ring and wants to stay.

  12. Let’s not also forget that Kopech was allowed to lose a game when he was clearly hurt

  13. I'd like to see Carlos Perez get at least 3 starts rest of the way. I know his 1 game was really rough, but hopefully just nerves. We're gonna need him some next season, so would be nice to get his feet wet.

  14. I would like to finish in front of the Twins. I personally DGAF about the 14 basis point increase in the lottery. So let's go 3-3 or better to finish, please.

  17. They need to move on from Andrus. Bring in a lefty hitting 2B, and let Romy platoon with them.

  18. Not that it matters, but playing Harrison over Romy or Sosa in meaningless games is dumb.

  21. People need to think about the way the White Sox FO conducts business before jumping on guys when they are hurt. Stevie Wonder could see Luis Robert wasn’t healthy enough to hold a bat this month. I don’t want to see a single guy in the Organization’s FO / Clubhouse (excluding Paddy) ever in another MLB media guide, definitely not in a White Sox media guide. Assuredly the usual suspects both here and in the media will point the finger at Tony and exculpate Hahn, but in a court of law, just like with Brian Ball’s lawsuit, pathetic Hahn is ultimately responsible for who is or is not an active player on the Chicago White Sox, whether his cowardly ass is hiding on the North Shore, or punching cabinets in his office, or wherever.

  22. But ask Anderson if he’ll step out of the way and hand over his shortstop job to Machado, and you’ll get a much different answer. “I don’t feel like I have to bow down to nobody. I don’t feel like I just have to give something up what I worked hard for. I would love to play with him, but shortstop is mine,” Anderson said. Doesn't sound like a team player or someone trying to lure one of the top free agents at the time to the Sox. I never thought I'd call Machado a team player but here it is.....There’s been much speculation that Machado, who’s won two Gold Gloves at third base, prefers to play shortstop with his new team. However, manager Rick Renteria shot down that theory last week, telling NBC Sports Chicago that Machado “has said that he will play wherever we need him to play to help us win."

  23. Padres need these wins. NL WC is tight for last 2 spots. They couldn't ask for a better team to play right now.

  24. The history you're suggesting is a wildly limited sample size. Ignoring half the league based on some stupid thought that any NL player will fail in Chicago is well....stupid.

  25. I agree he isn't a good defensive SS, but if he wasn't open to changing positions if the Sox signed Machado what makes you think Tim would accept a move to second base? It would become a major distraction and IMO TA wouldn't accept the move and would demand a trade.

  26. He's not a good SS and I wish he would be open to moving over to 2B. Not sure what else you do in that scenario besides any idea of an in-house option for 2B suddenly becomes the SS.

  27. For hopes a NL player works out for the Sox. Sad that Tim somehow got on fans shitlist. I have yet to hear any in the media suggest the kneejerk trade TA.

  30. Moncada & Eloy trades feel like getting pennies on the dollar. Yes they might be movable, but we’d never see the value of what we expected them to be in return. It’s better IMO to keep them and hope they bounce back / stay healthy enough to live up to their potential. The utter lack of depth in the upper minors means a worse player likely replaces them, which defeats the point. As for how they solve the AV, Eloy, Abreu problem, or the DH in the outfield problem I really don’t know. They have some hard choices to make or need a bump in payroll. Doing nothing to address either isn’t really an option, but it’s what I fear they will ultimately do.

  32. This idea that either the Sox had more injuries than other teams or they lost more important players or that they had worse luck has to stop because it’s not true. They’re a crappy organization in a crappy division. Bubble size below is lost WAR Plenty of teams suffered way worse and either made the playoffs, or are still competing, and not in a crappy division. Twins got hit harder than the Sox. Look at the Rays and realize they’re still in it - that’s what good organizations can overcome.

  33. But fashion savvy. Baseball is just a minor component of the complete Yoan Moncada package. Priorities.

  34. WHY IS COMPETING FOR THE DIVISION GOOD ENOUGH? That was what the "rebuild" was for? To "compete" in the worst division in baseball?

  37. Can the Sox even be trusted to get anything back for Vaughn/Jimenez and Graveman/Hendriks? One obvious point is that they need to resolve the Abreu issue first. Personally, keeping both younger players is my preference over watching another Konerko Death/Retirement Watch year. And we do have to know what Pollock will do as well. Just give Joe Kelly back to the Dodgers for 50 cents? Save enough to pay Leury, lol. Reynaldo Lopez could take that late inning role realistically. Sheets gets a negligible return...but you have Colas to replace him ofc.

  39. If Hahn goes yes but the White Sox love their guys. That is why we have four DH's and no LF or RF.

  40. I may be out in left field (pun intended ?) on this, but I think Anderson goes. He’s the guy that should get the best return. Ok, everyone call me names.

  41. Well they spent a year's worth of payroll in 2020 dollars ($128.5M) for seven years of Grandal and Keuchel. Spent $116M over fourteen months for 10 1/3 years of four 30 something relievers. $54M Liam Hendriks (1/15/21) $24M Kendall Graveman (11/30/21) $21M Craig Kimbrel (Pro-rated 2021 salary 7/30/21 Trade + 2023 Option (11/7/21) $17M Joe Kelly (3/14/22) Their philosophy (avoid 9 figure deals) works if they can scout, acquire and develop cost controlled players, and assess minor and major league talent (internal and external). Marco Paddy is the primary positive on that front, and the Sox handcuff him. Hence the team has little depth, outbids everyone on old players at the end of their careers, were forced to pawn their 2016 quality pieces for the few quality young players, and have seemingly permanent holes in RF and 2B. Free or inexpensive "little things" like proper defensive alignment, proper plate approach, quality opponent game plans, proper baserunning, making correct throws (cutoff) and other basic baseball fundamentals would go a long way. It's why Cleveland, Houston and sadly the Sox are where they are in the standings. Hahn said last October the team acknowledges shortcomings in fundamentals and areas of analytics, and he and the organization were committed to evaluating and improving in 2022. The team became worse in just about all aspects of baseball fundamentals this season.

  42. The Angels and Red Sox were the only non-playoff teams to spend more money per win than the White Sox. Payroll is not the issue. Hahn's horrible decision making and inability to understand how to build a baseball team is the issue. We have a long track resord of this.

I'm much older but had classmates who went to St. Rita while me and other Classmates went to Quigley South on 79th and Western which ironically now is a part of St. Rita. Hustle and talent got him to where he is now. Probably will make a good coach some day.
