This is gutting. I have no doubt he will survive but he's widely regarded as the best person in the game. My friend works with Howard Brown, an LGBTQ health center in Chicago and the amount of work he has done for them is immense. Also remembering how vocal he was after the Supreme Court ruling. I'm so proud he's a White Sock. Hope this is a blip and he's back either later this year or next. Just hope he is ok.7 points

Awful. Liam seems like a fantastic guy and I’m sure he’s going to raise a lot of awareness and money for the cause. Really hope they caught it early and he’ll be Ok. Baseball doesn’t matter with something like this.6 points

$1M to get out of this hell hole of an organization. Dude got out cheap. I'm sure there are lots of other players who would take that action.4 points

I’d rather spend $5 towards this than $25/30 for parking at the stadium lots.4 points

Can’t think of a better use and I’m confident it will embarrass him to some extent.3 points

No no let’s get young so that after he completes a thirty yard pass to the ten getsy can use his accuracy to run three straight times and kick a field goal3 points

Odor's savant page induces nausea. A NRI? I guess, sure. Dude had a 645 OPS vs righties last year and was a bad defender, and also has been below lg avg hitter since 2017. I'd much rather let Lenyn run with 2B than have this as the alternative.3 points

I know Forbes is seemingly as accurate as we'll get on the public side, but I don't believe for a second the Sox lost money in 2021. Open up the books and prove it.3 points

No one thinks it will. This is simply a way to tell Jerry to go f*** himself and embarrass him publicly.3 points

A great scenario would be Texans moving up to 1 and than Colts eventually moving up to 4. I’d like that a lot. Also - I know someone very close to Bryce Young (from his Mater Dei days). No idea if he has changed but I was told his character is absolutely outstanding.2 points

He also signed with the White Sox because they either had or were open to Gay Pride Night. He and his wife seem very charitable too. While he battles this awful disease, his presence will be missed from a leadership perspective. Cancer has touched most people’s lives and the players in MLB are no exception. I wish him the best in his battle with cancer and hope he closes it.2 points

Colts getting the 4th pick is huge. Could create a nice bidding war between them and the Texans and provides you with a high probability of landing Anderson & Carter regardless of who trades up.2 points

Cancer is fucked up. Thoughts are with him and his family Hoping for a cancer free diagnosis as soon as possible.2 points

Whatever happens, the Bears are going to 100% drive the entire NFL offseason, and I’m here for it2 points

Nahorodny better than Karkovice, no way. I’d take Karko 7 days a week with twice on Sunday.2 points

And are one of what, three teams to never sign a $100M+ contract? Meaning they are never paying for premium talent or landing the game’s most marketable stars. Even when they do spend it’s usually on washed up garbage or not insignificant overpays. Blaming a fan base after 40 years of terrible ownership is rich.2 points

As of right now they are projected to be 13th in payroll. So close, but still inaccurate. Saying they are in the top half of baseball in payroll in their prime contention years would be accurate. In terms of attendance, maybe if the owner didn't hire his drunken friends to coach the team it would be better?2 points

I'd be unhappy if he was still here and they wouldn't have signed Benintendi if they had to pay Pollock. He sucked here.2 points

? the latter, a rich guy traded $1M to play for a team with a positive vibe and a shot at winning vs. this dumpster fire of an organization. Easy trade....2 points

Waste of what, $5 or $10? Hell a big mac costs more than most people donated. I think this is great.2 points

Best of luck to him but when you're a defensive replacement and drop a foul ball that leads to a big loss....I'm ready to move on.2 points

for no particular reason, was thinking of him last night in a Baseball forum chat. Somehow he had 10 SB in 1992, which would have nearly made him the team leader in 2022.1 point

Lucking into Michael Jordan did a lot to pad that resume. I'd much rather have an owner that will put this team in position to actually sign top free agents when it is a competitive team. JR has shown time and again that will never be him.1 point

Without knowing any of the details, I asked a doctor about this and he said it’s likely a full season also. Treatment, including chemo, and then regaining strength if all goes well.1 point

Exactly. And the possibility of getting pick 31 and then a future first from colts to still then get Carter.1 point

I think this is absolutely the most ideal scenario. I so badly want Payne to hit free agency and to add Carter or Anderson. Perhaps even throw in one of the higher end DEs as well. With this secondary looking to be pretty dang good, if you add 2 huge cogs to the DL, this defense should absolutely be playoff caliber. Washington has soooo much talent on their DL that they still have to pay so I'm hoping they let Payne go....I do fear that he played too good. Among DTs he was 2nd in sacks and 1st in TFLs. If he hits the market the Bears CAN'T be outbid.1 point

https://www.phillyvoice.com/recent-history-teams-trading-back-nfl-draft-and-acquiring-future-first-round-pick/ Depending on the pick you got, it sure looks like "3 first round picks and change" is probably an important goalpost if the Bears start taking offers.1 point

My issue with Odor is he just hasn't shown any upside in recent years. He's a negative defender since 2019 per DRS (OAA was more favorable towards him until last season), and while his career OPS against RHP may be .725, from 2019 to now it's been .678, .737 (2020 short season), .625, and .645. That's putrid production.1 point
