Good lord dude, a guy like Rodriguez should be worth more to the white Sox than cash or a bunch of old ass never wases they kept over him. Everyone else is right and you are wrong. If it was June, I’d get it. It’s 7 games into the season.9 points

This is what gets me. People spent the entire winter talking about how we didn't sign any good players, the players we did sign sucked, and everyone in management was trash, yet are still freaking out with each bad play and game. I don't even want to see respectable bad. I want to see national embarrassment bad. I want this drug through the mud and questioned in gory detail and mocked league wide. Give me record breaking bad. #TeamBurnThisBitchtotheGround8 points

11 year career. 119 career ERA+, 3.53 era. 2 full seasons with an era over 4, and 3 with an ERA+ under 100. We should be so lucky.6 points

I'm willing to give Getz another year or two. He knew this was an absolute punt year, so he committed nothing to it. Which, while watching is completely awful, I understand to a degree. You have young guys either coming up this year or should be ready next year. I think offseason 2025 is the big one and a place where we see if he actually starts signing impact guys. Grifol should have been fired midseason last year. Just an absolute fucking moron.6 points

How long until Yoan gets hurt? This is so damn pathetic. They wanted to play 150 games each. They couldn’t even reach 150 combined innings.6 points

Where does he say anything about enjoying this s%*# show? Many of us are/were informed enough to realize the team was going to be dreadful before the season actually started. It's playing out like many of us expected. We just don't feel the need to whine and complain about it like a petulant child ad nauseum every 10 minutes.5 points

Pitching was good, defense made no errors…and they had absolutely no chance to win.5 points

I'm trying to not be negative, but how do you go from Montgomery, to Schultz, to Jacob Gonzalez. Ugh. (I know how/why in this scenario, but god I hate going with the low impact pick last year.)5 points

Yeah the roster wasn’t ideal until they substituted Sosa for Robert. Too many good players kept Sosa in Charlotte. Throw White Sox fans some sort of bone and fire this dope tonight.5 points

Did people not know they’d be bad? Granted, they’re playing worse than you’d expect, but they were always going to be bad. I have a feeling people convinced themselves they were a slightly below average team. They are worse than last year’s team. That team at least had some talent/potential. This team has almost no talent.4 points

The legend Steve Stone sure sounds different when Maldonado fucks up than when Grandal did it.4 points

We're the only team in the world that doesn't care if our catcher can actually catch the balls.4 points

He just turned 24 and has hit in the minors. Maybe something clicks? Are you a big Nicky Lopez fan?4 points

The Sox don't pay him and he shouldn't have told you to f*** off. The team isn't worth getting so angry for by all accounts.4 points

This ads more weight to trying to get Robert back healthy and then trade him for what you can get. Sox will be a disaster for the next few years and even if he stays healthy they won't extend him. The only thing that could change that scenario is if new ownership is in place in the next year or two.4 points

Yeah he’s worth preserving on the forty man roster of a stronger organization than the Sox4 points
-
He was 17 with the Sox. Regardless, he’s 22 years old and the Sox have plenty of old trash on their 40-man roster. Perhaps Rodriguez pans out, perhaps he doesn’t. Just like with Fletcher, you never know. Besides, I’d rather have the 22 year old prospect on my roster than the numerous quantity of old and bad players the Sox currently have.4 points

I will be honest, I fully believe that Getz knew what he was getting with this group. Guys to fill a position and not rush the guys who you think will be taking over in the near future. Guys who show up and work hard every day to give solid examples to learn from for the next generation. They weren't really supposed to put up stats. It's Clevinger I don't get.4 points

5 shut out innings from Thorpe and 3-5 from Zavala last night. Might not be the day to make this point.4 points

So it only took 7 games for both Eloy and Luis to get injured, I wonder how long before Yoan joins them?4 points

getz is a bozo. he just sold someone he helped "develop" for the past 6 years. Dude is clueless His job is to take the heat off Jerry while saving money, nothing more4 points

Why do we keep jettisoning 20-22 year olds for 26+? Plus, we heard all last year how Burger at 26/27 wasn't going to be on the next White Sox playoff team. Well, who is, exactly?4 points
-
The point was why cut him over other stiffs. This is poor roster management. Not saying Popeye will be any good - but don’t cut the 22 year old who has flashed a little bit when you have a bunch of crap that is old and proven to be turds on the 40 man. Note: If Jose did something awful - fine - move him, but let’s not imply the Sox have shown they have much of a standard there.4 points

How is Leone helping us get outs with his 11.57 ERA and 20.32 FIP?3 points

I do not envy Getz. He inherited the worst situation I can remember for any team I follow. The whole org including 97% of the players needs to be scraped off the Earth and something new built in its place. I love Popeye's athleticism and energy, but I watched him play a lot last year. If you think Sosa and Colas don't control the zone, they're Frank Thomas compared to Rodriguez. I get that they just didn't believe in him. Rightly of wrongly. They also didn't believe in Mena. Possibly wrongly. There is such little talent, majors or minors, that the F.O. is going to have to do a lot of crazy things just to field a Washington Generals team for the rest of the league to beat up on. Fact is, we're not even in year zero yet. This is year -1 where we lose 110 games and pick 11th while some team that lost 92 games picks Ethan Holliday. All these vets are for Grifol. I think they're hoping to save his job. Good luck with that. Hopefully, they fire him, then hire someone who will play and develop some of their younger guys, and get competitive around 2028? Until then, we just have to enjoy the absolute suckitude.3 points

The same guy who has been pumping up Getz since his hiring, along with his awful offseason acquisitions of a bunch of corpses? Maldonado is basically an immobile scarecrow behind the plate and should have been put out to pasture, yet you are still hyping him up. Let’s just say you may not have an unbiased opinion on things…3 points

Honestly, pretty much anyone else, even some of the non 40 man guys at AAA. I’d also rather throw Alex Speas to the wolves than give any innings to either of these guys (and yes, it would probably be a disaster). Also, why did we trade for Horn if he’s not ready to contribute? And what has Josimer Cousin done to warrant a 40 man spot at the moment? Does his ceiling really warrant a spot when we’re forced to cut young talent to make room to pitch garbage innings for the major league team? And I while I’m picking on Leone & Shaw because they are very old and bad, there are plenty of old & bad position players as well. The infield group has a ton of guys who won’t be here next year and/or are just bad. Carrying both Pillar & Grossman seems like a complete waste of limited roster spots. I’m not going to lose sleep over trading Popeye for cash, but the way this 40 man is being managed is highly questionable. Most of thought the veterans they added like DeJong were meant to be cheap placeholders who would be cut when young guys started pushing for roles. The problem is we are now adding more and more of them to turn a steaming pile of s%*# into just a flaming piece of s%*#. I simply don’t get the logic of what Getz is doing here.3 points

Fair, just not the biggest fan of soft-tossing righties and banking on position players a little farther away to develop here.3 points

They never even did an interview process. They literally took the guy that failed in his role and moved him up.3 points

Not only was no one else interviewed for the GM job, but I can say with absolute certainty no other MLB Team viewed Getz as an MLB ready GM. Yet here he is…3 points

Guys.....do you honestly believe that Jose Rodriguez wasn't shopped around the league prior to being DFA? 30 clubs just showed you his value. The Sox received cash considerations because that's very likely the best offer they received. There's not some pot of gold at the end of the rainbow that they missed out on here.3 points

Good God. I did not think the Sox front office could get worse. I stand corrected.3 points
