Nice to know Getz wakes up in a good mood everyday. What a relief. Was worried putting together one of the worst teams ever might have been bringing him down8 points

I have to say, I think he’s pretty good. He’s a little corny, but he’s got a good voice (not the cookie cutter announcer voice most young guys seem to have). He recognizes hard hit balls. I don’t even mind SS Stand Up. Not much different from John Rooney’s “and that’s a white sox winner!” I think he’ll grow out of some of the annoying tendencies he has, but a month in, I kinda like him.6 points

Since the White Sox outbid the Padres for the coveted services of Tommy Pham: White Sox: undefeated, averaging 8.5 runs/game Padres: winless, averaging 2.0 runs/game4 points

The Athletic has a few stories this week absolutely destroying the Sox organization. Here is how one of those stories ended: "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Unless you’re the Chicago White Sox. Then it’s business as usual."4 points

he got off to a very rough start but has been solid for a couple weeks. No runs given up in his last seven outings, all of his earned runs came before April 9; 3 very rough outings out of 11 total. Excited to see what he can do!3 points

You don't rebuild with the players he acquired in this past off-season.3 points

I don't wanna watch the interview as it'll just make me mad. Same with Howard Stern's interview with a certain celeb today. Don't need to get all upset. It is what it is. At least Sox signed Pham and called up Mendick. Both can hit .250 and knock in a few runs and/or score a few runs I bet. Our new starting pitcher will be here soon as well. That's 3 players better than anybody else we got (maybe Eloy is the real deal and there's a chance Vaughn could heat up with the weather.3 points

That inning is as much on Vaughn as it is Leone. Not defending Leone but Vaughn botched that play2 points

Park sounds so awesome tonight. Loudest open stadium in MLB. It just makes me hate it more that we ended our season in April.2 points

Hilarious to look back at these quotes now, as if any fans bought into this BS they were selling.2 points

Signing vets a year past when they should have retired has been a White Sox staple since Kenny was first running the show, and it hasn’t changed since with Hahn and now Getz. It doesn’t work, they have proven it doesn’t work, yet they keep doing it because of our cheap d-bag of an owner. Quite frankly, f*** them all.2 points

Crowd might be a little weak tonight. I just saw a broken down party bus on the Kennedy with about 25 people dressed in Sox swag standing outside of it.2 points

Anytime you can roster a DH that hits righty, has a trailer hitched to him, and has an OPS of 450 you do that.2 points

We don't know anything for sure like you said was the point. We all want our opinions validated about how we feel initially in any trade. You're talking about theoretical scouting department misses on Fletcher and DeLoach but if Mena's reason for being traded also turns out to be correct it becomes a push. We all know scouting and development of baseball players is much harder than in other sports. We also know not to give the Sox the benefit of the doubt too. So declaring advanced knowledge that a trade was horrible or great when it involves players at different levels of development isnt justified until there are actual reasons . How would we evaluate the trade of Sale at the time it happened compared to now ?2 points

Getz has lost all credibility when he mis-led us saying the Sox would be competitive this year. As long as Reinsdork is around we will always have 2nd and third rate GMs, Managers and Coaches and a farm system that can’t develop or produce Major League players.2 points

it was also Flexen! ? I've already posited an adjustment to FIP called "pitched against White Sox" (PWSx) so that fans don't get the wrong idea that the likes of Andrew Abbott and Simeon Woods-Richardson are Cy Young contenders. But now how about a "pitched while Dominic Fletcher played center field behind you while gross, man and that other guy wiped up the corners" (PWDFPCFBYWGMATOGWUTCx).2 points

We don’t know anything for sure….but Fletcher needing more AAA seasoning is a very bad sign. And his tweener status is pretty much confirmed by watching the games as he can’t play a good CF and doesn’t have the tools to be a quality offensive RF. I really hope he proves me wrong, but so far everything the kid’s done has reaffirmed my belief that he’s nothing more than a 4th OF type talent. Beyond that, the bigger concern is what a theoretical miss on Fletcher (and potentially DeLoach) means for faith in our pro scouting function. We traded controllable pieces for older OF prospects who already had experience in AAA and yet both dudes require more seasoning despite the massive holes we have in the OF at the moment. I viewed the Gene Watson move as a negative when it first happened and watching Rafael Ortega get opportunities over these two kids doesn’t install much confidence.2 points

I went to look for the wild card standings and saw just how horrific the Sox are currently on the road.....they are 1-13 away from Chicago. That is a pace to win 6 games on the road all season. Great googly moogly. Sorry for the negativity there....one could argue at this moment the Sox are one of the hottest teams in baseball after that epic win last night.2 points

Would be nice if people ever let trades marinate for a while. If it turns out its a minor leaguer for a minor leaguer it just makes the trade a push. But as of right now we have no idea how Mena's or Fletcher's career will go.2 points

I find it insane you think the “returns” we will get for Soroka, Flexen, Keller, & Leone will make any sort of meaningful difference to our future. Right now, the odds of us getting even a C tier prospect for any of them is low. Hell, one of them isn’t even on the major league roster and two of the others are potential DFA candidates before the trade deadline comes along. These guys are simply fodder to buy time until the actual prospects are ready and nothing more.2 points
