  1. For me it's about three things. -Hording long term talent -Turning short term players into long term talent -developing long term talents Wins are nice, but not really important in the grand scheme of things.

  5. Great pitching by Clevinger and especially the BP. Just enough hitting ! 4th win in a row. Suck it Guardians! South side stand up !!

  6. Ozzie was talking about how big a dude Ramos is at 6'2 225 yet is still nimble. Ramos was flashing some leather last night showing he is capable at 3rd. Also Ozzie said when Moncada comes back he should go to 2nd base. Fine with me.

  7. Also, Schriffen was hanging out with the tailgaters in Lot B before the game. (I think he's done it before too) You would never see Stone do that with his "holier than thou" attitude. Give him a chance he's brand new, he will improve.

  11. Strike quick on Flexen before he comes back to earth if it's really a hot market.

  14. If you took what you bolded in the context I used it I said they have a way to go because they haven't won a championship or had 4-6 years of playoffs baseball yet. And that would be the ultimate way of determining if they made the right call on operating the way they have. As you mentioned I also think they have COULD have a rough road ahead but they hoarded prospects because ,like the Sox, they weren't going to spend a lot of money to win a championship, so you need to keep your minor league depth. You can't sell out your depth to go all in . Your best shot to win a World Series is by making the playoffs year after year. But that doesn't guarantee a championship. The Dodgers and Yankees have both had long droughts between championships despite continually being in the playoffs. Tamp Bay never won a World Series but they give their fans playoff teams often. It's been pretty obvious since last year's record they were ready to compete for a championship now but they had holes in their OF that needed to be filled in the next few years. So they didn't want to give up near ready top OF prospects. I also don't remember Sox fans asking for the Orioles AAA fodder. We pretty much bristled at mentions of guys like Westburg and Beavers as 3rd piece types. We wanted Kjerstad or Cowser mostly and not trading them was the correct call. I suppose it's how you measure success that ultimately determines how you'll view them hoarding prospects. Winning a championship is the top goal and if all else is failure then youre underestimating the fan entertainment and yearly revenue and franchise building value of sustained playoff appearanes.

  15. Keep Ramos up. Mendick goes into utility role or starting 2B and send Shewmake down. Shewmake and Lopez have no business being on an MLB team

  16. Kopech will be traded. Crochet only gets traded if a team overpays.

  19. I been lucky enough to watch five straight wins. I watched the Sunday win over St. Louis. I was busy both Monday and Tuesday nights, so never had a chance to watch those losses. But was back in front of the TV for the final win against TB. And now I've been able to watch the last three wins against Cleveland. I can't remember the last time I've had so much fun being a White Sox fan.

  20. well clearly it wasn't a wasted roster spot, they got a prospect out of it. that was ostensibly the rebuilding strategy from the get go, sign bums and hope some of them play well enough to be traded for something. If Robbie Grossman got that, what might Pham or DeJong or Wilson net? Or Fedde or Clevinger. Feels worth mentioning that DeJong has actually been good, much better than Rosario or Anderson on both sides of the ball.

  21. I was thinking promoting some more minor leaguers and trading Moncada for a solid starter even though the word starter now means a 5 1/3 inning guy.

  22. If I were Reinsdorf I'd meet with Getz immediately and tell him to make some more moves and upgrade. The team has shown life since he got moving and shaking and made some moves to improve a historically bad team. Maldy and Lopez being replaced would IMMENSELY help this club. Hopefully our young 3Bman can stick all year. And of course Pham has been a godsend. He's gonna need a day off soon though and we'll assuredly lose that game.

  24. For Fedde? If he continues to pitch like this he will return a top 100 guy easily IMO.

  25. He’s on a little over $1M deal, he’s a pretty low risk option for a team looking a little help.

  26. Maybe if they save $500K+ by taking Konnor Griffin at #5, they could pass those savings along to Nate George later. ??‍♂️

  27. He’s DFA material. Nice of Getz to give him $3 million bucks though.

  32. Thing is, Soroka's stuff today was way better than the guy currently allowing 0 runs out there. Terrible ABs with RISP, and a pretty inconsistent strike zone to boot.

  36. Bold prediction: Crochet doesn’t get dealt at the deadline due to lack of interest due to his innings usage. The offseason is another story.

  38. Oof, that team stinks. Probably worse than the roster we have now. They will have to spend a fortune in FA to get this thing even remotely close to competitive and that just aint going to happen. I would enjoy watching this team way more than todays team though, so at least thats something.
