  2. I love the Chicago White Sox baseball team, but I despise the organization that runs it top to bottom. These players wear the uniform, but I can't root for them. This whole culture and work ethic construct is a farce, and we all knew it was, yet they sold it to us as if it was going to work. Pedro is an utter joke, Getz is inept, and JR just doesnt give a f*** beyond counting the dollars coming in. I actively want this version of the White Sox to lose in embarrassing fashion every time out. Until there are more than a one or two interesting players on the roster worth a damn, opposed to the garbage they run out there every day, I want historical lows for the dopes running this thing. I know nothing changes until JR is gone, but being a laughingstock is everything they deserve.

  3. Woodford has a very respectable ERA of 5.26 this year at Charlotte.

  6. He’s throwing pitches right down the plate. Quite the roster Getz has put together.

  7. While I'm not actively rooting against the team as a whole, I'm getting enjoyment out of the hilarity that some of these players (and the GM that assembled them) provide with their incompetence.

  8. No. This is just wrong. He has statistically the worst umpired game on record. His reputation was also there before the lawsuit. A 2010 ESPN survey showed that 22% of major league ballplayers asked identified Hernández as the worst umpire in the major leagues.

  9. McDaniel left Kanny on a high note, he's making his A+ debut tonight. But the team overall has been much more fun to watch since getting some offensive reinforcements, they are 10-2 in their last 12 and have a +94 run diff.

  10. I projected the first five rounds for the White Sox at FutureSox today. Here it is: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/05/28/2024-5-round-mock-draft-white-sox/

  12. It was a good AB but with that swing path he's never going to hit anything hard consistently. He got a 95mph fastball right down broadway 3-2 and fouled it off tardy.

  13. Nice play from Beni. Dude is an absolute clown in LF but won't be benched for jogging or missing cutoff on an almost nightly basis.

  17. Well this year, we can't root for the draft pick. And no one has mentioned it being about draft picks. For me, I've just grown numb and don't care about the results. I want the decision makers at the top to be humiliated with as many losses as possible.

  18. I do not understand the long pattern of there being an extreme tolerance to losing yet as soon as someone gets good, they’re jettisoned out. Then someone (players & coaches both) has to totally fail in a bad organization to get a shot with the Sox. 15-40 and zero changes made. 15-40 is showing an extreme failure tendency even in a rebuild. Pedro should have been gone a long time ago. He’s clearly not the one. So why not start the search to find someone who is? Unless they have completely embraced being a terrible losing franchise and Pedro IS EXACTLY the direction the Sox want to go. No one tolerates losing like the Chicago White Sox.

  21. I think you guys are mad at Schriffen for the wrong reasons. It's his fuckin job to be the Sox hype man, do you expect him to be as depressed and miserable as we are? Why? You know what the job duties are. He seems realistic about how bad the team is too, he talks about it every game. Bigger issues with Schriffen, but "home team announcer likes the home team" is not a criticism. I'm genuinely surprised that it apparently is. What do you expect him to say on air? Seriously, let's hear a script of what the Sox PBP commentator should be saying. What would you be saying if it was your job?

  22. It rarely happens but I actually find myself to be disappointed when I check scores and the Sox win on a given day.

  23. Hes 22 for all of this year could spend all of this season and the next two at AAA and still be "on track" hitting is hard and power is often the last tool to develop. His strike out rate will normalize just like it did in AA; give the kid some time we're in no rush to start the clock and we're quite a ways away from competing.

  24. This is the first year ever I want the Sox to lose. Same as the cubs. If they don't clean house this winter management wise I'll be a brewers fan.

  33. I wish I could tell you that I wasn't outright rooting for this organization to lose but I can't. I was definitely rooting for the no hitter on Sunday and since the horrid start, it's just been hilarious to me to see how embarrassing they can get. Like TRU said, the odds are the complete embarrassment won't change anything but the 1 percent that it might is more than the 0 percent of them winning a few more games accomplishes anything. Now that said, I'm obviously still rooting for guys like Crochet and Luis when he comes back but ya, besides that, lets be the best at being embarrassing.

  35. This premise that the majority of baseball fans are even aware that Angel Hernandez filed a lawsuit is crazy, let alone that being the reason, not the crazy blown calls, are the reason he is a target of ridicule.

  36. Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall broadcast some lousy Sox teams in their years on the Southside and were honest and critical, I wonder what they would be saying if they had to broadcast a team that was as bad as the 2024 White Sox, it would probably be hilarious.

  37. I’m not sure you understand what a homer announcer is.
    2 points
  38. Nrockway my only beef is I've heard him get all excited about a run scoring double or homer when the game is completely out of reach or the team is in some ridiculous losing streak. Enthusiasm is fine but when the team is this bad it's silly to celebrate wildly run scoring doubles or homers. ... Also our team has a history of non homer announcers: Harry, Piersall, Stoney, Hawk for sure. These guys were entertaining yet blasted the team for sorry play. You can't act all excited when a homer cuts the gap to 4-1 in the eighth and the team is blazing toward yet another loss.

  40. Umpire auditor had him ranked last in mlb. The called strike three in first clip was almost 7 inches outside and furthest they had seen.

  43. Getting angry about anything related to this team - Reinsdorf, the injuries to Eloy/Yoan/Luis Robert Jr, Getz, Pedro, Schriffen, the lousy players - seems like a huge waste of time and energy. I still follow them because I am a Sox fan and I love baseball. I will be happy when Reinsdorf's ownership comes to an end and we can clean house. And Schriffen might be a goofball but he's OUR goofball so the Score can eat a dick. As far as this season goes, it's incredible how bad they are - it's like having front row seats to the crash of the Hindenburg but it takes 6 months.

  44. Reisdorf completely destroyed his organization. His fingerprints are all over everything the Sox spend on hiring the most inexpensive and inexperienced personnel and cutting corners everywhere. He's reaped what he has sown. JR isn't suffering. He's a businessman running his business the way he wants it run. He strives on this.

  46. I can't say I am actively rooting against them on a daily basis, but their results also don't bother me. I absolutely do want to see change, and if it takes record bad to do it, so be it.

  47. It sucks to watch a losing team, you want the people responsible for its construction to face some consequences, but I can't understand the desire to want your team to lose. There are some logical reasons to want your team to lose, ie to tank for a better pick or to force the hand on firing executives/coaches. Well, Hahn and Kenny already got fired and there's no doing better than the 10th pick. There is still some pride in sports fandom, it's an analogy for pride in the place you're from, a less chauvinistic kind of nationalism. If you're a patriotic citizen, you might not like the people in charge but you don't want your country to fail, you want it to get better. You guys should be patriotic Sox fans. Critical of the morons in charge, objective about the performance on the field, watch the game and hope for a win. I think, in a way, you're disrespecting yourself by considering yourself a fan and wishing for losses. Give up the fandom, find a new nation if you feel that way. I'm gonna keep rooting for these unlikable losers, a brighter future is on the horizon.
