Not to give Pedro the benefit of the doubt, but I am sure he knows and is just not snitching and putting his business out there in case they come back and fine him.4 points
-
He’s at .243 with a .586 OPS. That’s awful. He goes on these little hot streaks for a few games and then goes back to forgetting how to hit. I really wouldn’t take back your negative comments about Lopez anytime soon.4 points

Getz’s offseason was garbage and he managed to make an awful team even worse. He also gave away two pitching prospects and an infield prospect for essentially nothing (Fletcher and cash).3 points
-
The whole regime needed to be gone. He was part of the problem IMO, not part of a solution.3 points

Bump. 0-3 1-2 0-4 0-3 1-12 including the first time in franchise history going winless on a 7+ game homestand.3 points

My friend from college is on a quest to hit every MLB ballpark. So tonight is Comiskey and I'm going with him. I'm not joining him for Wrigley and Milwaukee. Really looking forward to eating nachos like that goon from last night!3 points

I’m worried too. I remember Brendan McKay being can’t miss The only corner profile I’d take at 5 is Condon Burns, Smith, Griffin or Rainer for me. If all 4 are gone, you run in the card with Condon.3 points

I hope they go BPA in the first even if it is a pitcher. You never have enough pitching and with the league wide shortage any surplus can fill your position player needs. We seem decent at developing pitching as well so unless things have changed in position player development could you argue pitching (injury risk) is no riskier than position player (poor development history)?3 points

If the system wasn't so bereft of impact position players I would be falling over myself to draft Hagen Smith. I still might be regardless of that.3 points

I would really love to speak to some current/former MLB players to get a better understanding of how much they feel coaching makes a difference. I used to feel that established MLB players really didn't need a hitting coach, they know what has made them successful, it's not a secret, but I dropped that belief a few years ago. Time and time again, we've seen the Sox sign veterans, guys that aren't totally washed, come to the South Side and just absolutely fall apart. Why? Is it the culture? Is it the coaching? It's happened too many times for it to be a coincidence.3 points

Yea. I've drooled over the clips. The bat just needs to be special and It does often look that way. Just asking myself why I would want Cags if I'm also not into Kurtz. Andrew Vaughn has pretty much eliminated my desire to draft any 1st basemen with an early first round pick.3 points

Maybe, oh I don't know, go talk to your pitcher about it and find out? Make sure you're on the same page and understand him? Is there something else driving his anger (besides just sucking ass as a team)?3 points

Yep. Nothing against Getz. But the whole, “I don’t want to hire an outside GM to take over the program because it will take them a year.” sentiment was complete nonsense. It was a disingenuous way of saying, “We don’t want outsiders to see how behind we are as a franchise and I don’t want to go outside of my country club of baseball people to fix my team, also I’m old and lazy.” It’s amazing how shitty and irrelevant this franchise has become. It’s actually quite sad. Sox fans deserve better and it sucks we won’t get that until Jerry leaves. It’s like we’re getting held hostage by a billionaire tight wad.3 points

I never understood how baseball fans value draft picks like it's the NBA, NFL, NHL. It's by far the hardest sport to scout.3 points

I projected the first five rounds for the White Sox at FutureSox today. Here it is: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/05/28/2024-5-round-mock-draft-white-sox/2 points

I mean am I supposed to be impressed at being able to add 20 more losses to a hundred loss team? Granted it is impressive, but not in the ways that get you extended.2 points

Just checked the score. Has there ever been a worse offense than these shmucks??2 points

It’s truly amazing that Pedro hasn’t been fired. This organization is in horrible shape.2 points

There's your season in a nutshell. Man on third, no outs, no runs scored.2 points

Fletcher isn't a MLB player. Nothing in his physical profile checks out. That's as hard as he can hit it. WHO THE f*** IS SCOUTING THESE BUMS?2 points

I'm with you. I think a team as bad as the Sox just is not something a projection system sees very often. There is every reason to believe this team really is a unicorn that will lose 110 plus. As I said I think it's more likely we lose 120 than win 60.2 points

Garfien interviewed Nicky Lopez pregame about the Sox being worst in baseball offensively with RISP and Lopez let out a 2 second chuckle and said "yeah I saw that yesterday. It's pretty wild" Great interview for those two fuckheads2 points

if you are talking about "load", Crochet hasn't had a starters load since... well ever.2 points

Which is great. I think Davis Martin and Burke could be operative parts of this rotation in 24-25. https://twitter.com/JamesFox917/status/17955006705790488812 points

Then just say that. "You know everybody was a little irked about the delay, umps included. I talked to Garrett about it and we're just going to keep that conversation between us". Saying "I don't know" is pathetic media management. Everything about Pedro as a manager is a zero, including how he handles what should be softball questions. See the eclipse bullshit as well.2 points

I am having a harder and harder time explaining why it happens to a few specific franchise, and not others.2 points

“Kevin Pillar went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer Tuesday in leading the Angels to a 4-3 win over the Yankees. The White Sox releasing Pillar after a 4-for-25 start, only to watch him hit .431/.459/.759 with five homers in his first 17 games for the Angels, is undeniably the funniest thing to happen in 2024.”2 points

Am I the only one who has pause with Cags? The fact that he won't be pitching, is a 1B, and teams are concerned about the chase rate worries me. I would feel a lot better about dude if he had a different defensive outlook.2 points
-
I'll take anyone. It's the time to see if they can develop into something when the team is actually ready to win. JR didn't want to waste time. Pedro in the dugout is a huge waste of time.2 points

Weird to be so absurdly confident in Crochet’s ability to stay healthy and strong through this season when he has shown anything but that ability2 points

Everyone is waiting for him to wear down because it will eventually happen. His arm is simply not conditioned to take on 150+ innings.2 points

Why not fire Grifol and install Sizemore? Get a preview of how handles the job for three to four months and see if there is any chance he can be the guy. It’s going to be hard to convince a quality manager to come here so need to be a bit creative and should take advantage of this lost season.2 points

Well this year, we can't root for the draft pick. And no one has mentioned it being about draft picks. For me, I've just grown numb and don't care about the results. I want the decision makers at the top to be humiliated with as many losses as possible.2 points

I was about to feel really smart and say "what about a garden?", thinking about how so many variables - controllable and not - can determine whether or not plants in my garden grow. Last year we skipped planting tomatoes and one appeared anyway. Then I remembered that it's called a farm system for a reason.1 point

Cool. They’d win 55 games instead of 45. Who cares.1 point

Combined still less than what they’re paying Moncada this season1 point

I understand you guys are backing up your arguments with stats, but I refuse to believe that Joe West wasn’t the worst ever. He was certainly the least likable.1 point

Hiring Ozzie would be just about the most uninspired White Sox type of move the White Sox could possibly make. After TLR, maybe the Sox should move on from drunk ex Sox managers.1 point

I'd offer Garrett 3 years 55 million with a club option for a 4th at 25 million right now. He gets security and Sox get an asset with surplus value if he stays healthy. If he doesn't, well it's only 3 year 55 million and the buyout. Kopech just sell high at the deadline or sooner. No reason to play with fire there.1 point
