This scandal is brought to you by FanDuel. The league is stupid if they didn't think this would happen.6 points

He's in an impossible spot, but the problem I have with Schriffen, is his spin totally disrespects his audience. The people still watching this crap know far more White Sox history than he possibly ever will. The people still watching this crap understand baseball maybe at least as well or better than he does or ever will. Quit spinning. We all know this is garbage. You are what your record says you are. 15-45 is historically bad. Own it.6 points

This has come up in multiple threads, so I'm gonna make a guide 1. Get your link, example: https://x.com/JRFegan/status/1797644454746304644 2. Remove the x.com URL and replace with twitter.com, resulting in: https://twitter.com/JRFegan/status/1797644454746304644 3. Copy the new URL, paste it and hit enter. You'll know you did it correctly because the post will say "posting as rich text," resulting in this. 4. If it's still not working, check these: a. You may have only edited the URL text, but the hyperlink might still be x.com - make sure the URL itself is twitter.com. b. You did not hit enter. 5. Alternative method: a. Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the tweet b. Select embed post c. Select the display option you want (video or post) d. Copy the embed code. e. On SoxTalk, click the "Source" logo in the posting draft. It is in the top right corner next to the bold symbol. f. Post the embed code. It might look funky in the draft, but should load when you post.5 points

When I was young it was cool to hate the Cubs. Now, I couldn’t care less.5 points

Just sweep the Cubs. I don't care if they lose all of their other games this season. Just sweep the Cubs.4 points

Yeah but the reason players shouldn’t bet on baseball is the same reason the league shouldn’t be partnered with baseball gambling operations. MLB in effect was taking over/under bets on games where they were employing different baseballs. That is vastly more scandalous than a player betting, yet here they are issuing lifetime bans for the same thing the league is guilty of3 points
-
Sure. And it's the ultimate hypocrisy for the league to tell their athletes not to gamble, while they sell sports gambling literally the entire fucking game, pre-game, and post-game. It's pathetic.3 points

You know that movie Good Will Hunting where the Ben Afflec character comes knocking on the door every morning to pick up Matt Damon, and finally one day he shows up and Matt Damon is finally gone? Thats me coming to this thread every day, just hoping and praying to find that Pedro is finally gone3 points

Interleague play didn't kill the rivalry. Im not sure how that makes sense. The rivalry was intense back in the mid 2000s. The Buehrle/Konerko/Pierzynski/Thome vs Zambrano/Lee/Soriano/Ramirez era was so good. Ever since the Sox perpetually started sucking, there's not been any excitement. If both teams were good, it would generate a lot more excitement. Hell, if they were good and in the same division, can you imagine. Baseball in the city of Chicago would be the envy of baseball. It wont happen though. It's my dream before I die to see an all-Chicago world series.2 points

Don’t bet on baseball and don’t bet on other sports illegally. It’s not that difficult.2 points

I feel like we’ve probably been near the bottom of this category for a really long time. I can’t count the time Abreu’s dumbass couldn’t even tell he was being pitched around. Maybe every single time it was happening?2 points

I honestly find this s%*# hilarious. All the major sports are completely inundated with gambling bullshit. It's thrown in our faces 24/7, during the entire fucking broadcast. This was a completely predictable outcome, and it makes the leagues look like absolute fucking rats every time they suspend a player for it. They did this.2 points

Valid point. One of the reasons I was told he was let go was because he wasn't doing what Hahn wanted him to do and he got tired of it. What exactly that was or what areas Hahn wanted him to change I don't know.2 points

Schriffen is just as big of a clown as Grifol. This dude is extremely cringe worthy. He's trying to sound edgy and how kids talk nowadays. It's beyond awful.2 points

Living in Florida it would still bother me if the Sox left Chicago, that’s the place I grew up and spent the first 48 years of my life in with a great childhood and wonderful memories especially with the White Sox.2 points

Chicago White Sox Break MLB Record By Failing to Draw Intentional Walks Not a single Chicago White batter has been intentionally walked by an opposing pitcher through 58 games this season, setting an unenviable MLB record.2 points

Choice Tommy Pham quotes. On slapping Joc Dude has always been a clown. He's just a clown that's been on an incredible hot streak with one of (if not the) worst teams in MLB history.2 points

Pham joins the long list of players on this year’s team that can get fucked. What a boner.2 points

They develop them using a cohesive strategy and framework that carries over from level to level. Look at systems like the Dodgers, Guardians, and Braves. Historically, the Sox just shuttle guys and leave it up to the individual affiliate’s staff to give instruction as they see fit.2 points

And the most famous place for pastrami in NYC is Katz’s and who’s our pitching coach? Works for me. Although I’d trade both of them for a sandwich. On rye with brown mustard.1 point

You were told by numerous posters that this team was terrible in the offseason. You argued and seemed to think the Sox were better than their record was indicating during what you called a small sample size of games earlier in the season. The Sox then won a few games in a row but the same posters knew it was just a matter of time before they would start losing again. Meanwhile, you tried to use this even smaller sample size of winning to claim the Sox weren’t historically bad. It was every bit as misguided as you noting their shutout count improving more recently as some sort of sign of something (no one has a clue). Well, the Sox now have a .250 winning percentage after playing 37% of their games, which is definitely a large enough sample size. They are on pace for a 40-122 record. The Sox are historically bad. Further, no amount of brawling on the field is going to make this suck fest of a team that Getz built start winning. First and foremost, they need to replace most of the garbage players that Getz acquired this past offseason with good players. They need to get a manager with a clue. A new owner and GM would be number one on the list but we all know that isn’t happening. However, these are the ways this historically bad team may start winning some games. Not from getting their asses whooped in a stupid on-the-field brawl like Tim Anderson versus Jose Ramirez.1 point

He had one 10-day stint for back tightness in 2021. Vaughn also had one 10-day IL trip after getting hit in the hand by a pitch. He really isn't getting into "Jimenez, Robert, Moncada" territory.1 point
