Grifol should be fired based on his managing in this game alone6 points

Luckily, that guy that used to be in charge of player development is no longer in that position.5 points

They could be the only team that doesn't have a viable MLB player.5 points

There shouldn’t be any untouchables in that system for Luis Robert And if I’m Getz, I tell Jerry to pound sand and enjoy watching Robert in Chicago or elsewhere4 points

Pick one! Squaring up in every thread like it's a fight to the death Your weird stance on a stadium that many feel would invigorate the team, where you constantly move goal posts. Currently telling us that we should now lay off the legacy of a guy who beat his wife. Currently telling us that we should now lay off the legacy of that same guy, who also expressed admiration for Hitler. This weird infantilization bullshit you do whenever someone disagrees with you. We're on a fucking message board. You're not attracting Gen Z to this platform. Meanwhile, to hop around the swear filter, you resort to ye olde text speak and will type out "dumb azz" sometimes. We get it, you want to type a-s-s. Just live with it. I could on and on, but frankly, #4 sticks in my craw, especially in modern times. I'm guessing your grandfather didn't have lifelong depression and PTSD because he stared the genocide of his people in the face by freeing one of the camps where his family was murdered. But Bobby Hull was so fucking cool to little Tray! My oldest memory is of a Frank Thomas home run from the 1995 season when I was 2-years-old. I know cause my parents said I never stopped saying how it went out of the stadium. If it turned out Frank supported a genocidal maniac, I'd be writing to the Sox to scrape #35 off of the stadium wall and melt the statue. Same for #3. f*** that noise.4 points

The White Sox, while they should be behaving like the Dodgers, Yankees, Cubs and Mets in terms of player aquisitions, won't because of the owner, so they need to learn how to win like Milwaukee, St. Louis, Atlanta, Cleveland, Philadelphia and Baltimore. But they won't, because of the owner. Getz is not the problem. Grifol is not the problem. They are symptoms of the problem. Jerry is the problem, and things just will not change until he relinquishes his power to the throne.3 points

DeJong is putting together a nice season.3 points

We are talking about a million and a half left on Pedro's deal. Yet how much have we wasted just on the contracts of guys we played for a week and dumped3 points
-
Frank just said he can see these guys making a run Maybe he means a run at the worst team in history, but it didn't seem like it3 points
-
It's nearly impossible to make waves when you MiLB strategy is only to trade for guys from your failed majors team, and a complete inability to draft and develop.3 points
-
As I said earlier, Crochet and Robert if he can stay healthy are guys you want to build around, the key is JR having an epiphany and for a change spending some money.3 points

Honestly shut up. You offer nothing here. Just go away3 points

The sox currently have a shallow System in depth but they have 5-6 top100 prospects depending on the outlet. Usually the top farm system has around 7-9 top 100 guys, for example at the height of their rebuild in 2018 the sox had 9 top100 by fangraphs. I think with a good deadline the sox could get there again. Crochet and Robert could add 2 top100 guys each, that would put them at 9-10 top 100 guys and a similar situation they where in 2018/19. Also trading guys like fedde can add some nice depth to the 10-20 range in the system I know the sox botched it big time last time and fell apart in a huge way but I guess the bright side was they still had some tradeable young guys left so they won't need a huge tank job for 5 years to bring the system back up to speed. Hopefully they will do a better job develop that young guys and surround them by better free agents but the re-rebuild could go quicker than expected, almost like that the padres did 7 or 8 years ago when preller traded away the farm, failed and then quickly changed course and rebuilt the system. This will he a bad season with likely more than 100 losses, maybe even 110 but at least the rebuild looks to be on track.2 points

Come on Pedro. Give us your best lineup, even though you got away with it yesterday.2 points

I got to enjoy three Stanley Cups and a modern day dynasty, while you sat pouting about a decision made 40 years ago from a long dead owner. You showed them!2 points

Why does he pinch run Ellis for Julks if he is bunting anyway? Not hitting for Maldonado and Eliis vs. Jansen instead of Julks vs. Jansen is an obvious downgrade and cost a better shot of adding a run. He’s a bad manager but Bob makes it seem like he’s going to at least finish the season employed.2 points

That was one of the worst managed games I've ever seen.2 points

Running Ellis in the 7th was boardline decision. Now its just stupid but letting Maldonado is worse and now Tanner Banks.....woof2 points

I could see Fedde + Kopech fetching something a little better then the Angels or Dodgers trades last year.2 points

This might be the beginning of them keeping that group together. In Chicago.2 points

They can, and have a desperate need to get that level of talent into the system. But more importantly it is the drafting and development that really needs to step up as that is what has killed this franchise for decades.2 points
-
It has to be a haul and hopefully guys that can help right away, I’ll be 79 soon, too old, I’m done with tanking and rebuilds.2 points

He’ll throw like 80 innings doing this and be right on track God I hate this idea. Taking Cags at 5 would tell me that they haven’t learned anything2 points

The Carmines ( Bruins and Pats too) and their fans (obnoxious people) have been unlikable for decades, they should give Boston and Plymouth Rock back to the British Empire.2 points

I have no problem saying “Michael Jordan was a womanizing asshole psycho gambler his entire time in Chicago” honestly. It’s not hard. I also would not defend Frank Thomas or anyone else in this organization if truth came out about them that was anywhere near what happened with Hull. f*** that, you are dead to me. Don’t care what you did for the organization. Also not hard2 points

Well, it’s 2024 and it’s known now and it’s the same reason everyone hates guys like Clevinger and Bauer. And we are all discussing this NOW, not back when Hull was playing. But it’s apparently easier to hate on lesser players that did these things than stars at their sport. If we all found out that a player like Frank Thomas or Paul Konerko was a drunk racist spousal abuser this year, that shouldn’t impact how we view them at all? I guarantee you that it would have an impact and the Sox would dissociate themselves from them completely.2 points

You are not a judge of character and obviously do not have a clue what you are talking about. How old are you? Still a teenager? I could explain why Bobby Hull meant so much to fans, but why waste my time on someone who is so absorbed in themselves.2 points

From Robert tade rumors to the merits of supporting a Hitler admirer as a young fan in the '70's. Yikes.1 point

I do appreciate the home town point of view. After getting a stay diet of the other teams announcing, I'll take any Sox announcer. Not for the most kick ass color work, it's the game threads by a mile.1 point

Much better booth interview today than either Buehrle or the Bolingbrook gymnast. Some kind soul has donated millions of dollars to Sox charities and it's going toward pancreatic cancer research and caring for patients with terminal diagnoses. A really awful disease, chances are we all know somebody who has fought this. At least this organization can do a little bit of good.1 point

I give him permission to tap into all the "Hey! Hey!", "Holy Mackerel", and "Holy Cow!" HR calls, too. At this point, they should all be Chicagoisms.1 point

I don't buy it. After getting fleeced for cease (current top 10 SP) I bet every team is making their low ball offers now. 3.5 years of a cheap all-star at his all time low value. Lets wait another season... unless a top 10 is offered.1 point
