Getz deserves proper credit for the signing of Fedde, it was a very solid move. Now, they need to get the proper value out of him. I understand there is a group here that enjoys watching him pitch, but let’s keep in mind he’s pitching well for a team that is 19-53. He’s also 31. His value to helping the Sox actually win will be in the form of a trade, not what he does on the mound for the Sox.7 points

A good game for Lenyn Sosa, he is hitting .348 over his last 15 games, is this him finally figuring out hitting at MLB level or just a hot spell?5 points

This is the type of game optimistic Sox fans expected. Four home runs will pace even a historically bad team to a win on a given night.4 points

I enjoyed the plan to upgrade the defense so the top pitchers would come here. The rebuild is coming along as we expected. Couple of 4A nitwits from KC failing upward.3 points

DeJong (solo), Vaughn 2 run, Sosa 3 run and K. Lee 2 run provided 8 of the 9 total runs on the longball in support of Fedde who went 6 innings without his best stuff giving up 8 hits ,2 runs, but no walks and 6 K. Brebbia,Wilson and Banks gave up 0 runs in an inning apiece. 9-2 final score.3 points

If the Sox can get a HAUL for Fedde in the trade deadline I would move him, otherwise keep him and see how the young guns like Cannon and Thorpe pitch the rest of the season. I would have no problem keeping Fedde, Robert jr, and Crochet and adding bats through free agent & trades in the off season. A couple of 2025 projections: catching: Lee & Quero 2nd base: Sosa, did he turn the corner? in the last 28 game he is hitting .348/.400/ .9443 points

Fedde, Crochet and Thorpe is 3/5s of a a solid rotation. Move Kopech to starter and 4-5 starters are set. Just sayin ...3 points

When Bannister is promoted to GM, because if you've seen videos of him at work (at least with the Giants), he doesn't treat computers like Zoolander and Hansel.2 points

it is sort of about velocity because apparently he has to have perfect command every outing in order to not give up 7 runs. if the fastball is in the zone, it's getting crushed, it's that simple. that needs to change. does that mean adding an extra MPH or two? maybe, but I lean more toward "stop throwing a 4 seam fastball". does a sinker play off the changeup in the same way? I have no clue, but what I do have a clue about is that his fastball is in fact a problem and it was a problem when he had a great debut.2 points

He will be yet another quick DFA for a GM who is becoming a master at cutting his own awful acquisitions in lightning speed.2 points

Surely our GM, with experience as a director of player development, would know better.2 points

Just saw. And Duke Ellis DFA’d. Might as well have just added Chuckie and DFA’d Maldy.2 points

Nice to see AV continue hitting. Saw somewhere he quit worrying and relaxed a bit. He'll never be a star, but a normal Vaughn at least isn't a problem.2 points
-
Equally Vaughn is hitting .328 with 5hrs over the last 15 games, so hopefully he is also finding some sort of form after a bad start to the season.2 points

Exactly correct, the Sox as far as talent acquisition, go into every year with one hand tied behind their back thanks to JR.2 points

The Sox, as they stand today, are the least talented organization from top to bottom in MLB. Full stop. All of these fantasies of some how accumulating enough talent into the system in the next 2 to 3 years to make Crochet and Robert matter, knowing full well we won't spend in Latin America, the high end free agent market, and the inability to get a top 10 pick next year is just absurd. You have to get talent from somewhere and with all of the doors the Sox artificially close, the trade market is about it. The Sox need to make up 50 games in 2 years, otherwise we lose Crochet for nothing without a playoff chance. That's just insane.2 points

Getz is a clown. His evaluations of Fletcher and DeLoach give me no confidence he knows what makes a good hitter.2 points

4 homers! Murderers Row! This team is still bad but they are much more likable (except for Grifol) than the 2022 and 2023 White Sox. They should just DFA Eloy and Moncada, those 2 have never been likable and are not needed any longer.1 point

Come on that's ancient history you ignored everything else I said. He's already cost controlled for his remaining years for cheap. The only question is his health. There are zero reasons to make him more of a risk for teams wanting him by extending him.1 point
-
Moncada is nothing right now except an expensive sunk cost who will be a free agent after the season. Sosa might be our starting 3rd ,SS or 2nd baseman next year if he can manage to play decent defense at one of those positions maybe 2nd base.1 point

Lotta home runs. Is Sosa a better prospect/player than Moncada? Is Lee on track for a huge career?1 point

Teams don't base their offers on whether or not they think they can extend a guy. Anyone wanting him will base their offers on risk tolerance. He's not likely to help a team in the playoffs this year which is the likely reason their won't be very many offers. Most teams will pass on him and wait to see how the rest of the season plays out . Can he stay healthy ? They'll already be getting a bargain on his salary which is nothing right now and will continue to be during his Arb. years. If Getz were to extend him now and buy out his Arb years and a FA agent year or 2 he gains no leverage in a trade because he'll be making his ARb years more expensive and guaranteeing even more money for a year or 2 extra. How is that attractive to another team when all a team has to do is come to an agreement with him on his Arb salary next year and the year after which is usually a fairly routine process. Teams would want him during the off season because he stayed healthy the rest of this year and he's a dam good pitcher, inexpensive and should be able to pitch even more innings next year. You're acting like getting a cheap very good pitcher for 2 years is some kind of bad thing for any team contending.1 point
