  2. how the f*** do you find yourself on this message board, in 2024, and still call the guy roberts? I'm legit thinking it must be almost impossible. Anyways, Sox about to lose again and get back on pace for 125 losses. HISTORY!

  3. The idea that the Sox players are too stupid to know when to go full out or ease up is probably the most valid one you have made in a while.

  4. It doesn’t matter how little of talent is on this team, Grifol does not have them prepared in the slightest. He has to fucking go.

  5. The other thing is: Would the Thunder of all teams have been reluctant to hold onto a pick if it was a dealbreaker? They actually have more than they keep. It sucks cause we can't even say hindsight is 20/20. There were calls to trade DDR or Zach two years ago when they both had good-to-great value, DDR last year, Caruso last year (when he was apparently worth two first rounders) and Drummond last year (when he was supposedly worth two second rounders). If they started this two years ago, they wouldn't have locked themselves into the nonsensical Vuc deal. Instead they're maxing out at...Josh Giddey. Just all-around horrible.

  6. If I could choose the worst qualities for a modern nba guard, it would be : bad at shooting, bad at getting to the line, and bad at defense. Giddey is all 3.

  7. Are people really arguing this much over a 26 year old pinch runner in AA? If you need this type of player, you can do what the Mets just did.

  8. If you think Getz isn't making moves that deserve mockery, well that explains why you arguing this is OK in the first place.

  9. I bet Fedde can't get away from these suckwads fast enough.

  10. I mean seriously, if Duke learns to hit even a minimal amount, he is a 10 year major league bench player. Yes he is raw and not ready right now, but you can't teach 80 speed. In an era where they basically made stealing 2nd base a gift, a dude like this has value if he can get into the low to mid .200s with an empty average. A soft single is basically a double in the scorebook with his speed. Besides that, yes, you absolutely do this roster dance with a career MiLB guy you don't care about losing.

  11. Here's my thing. Your thoughts on Ellis' future aside, he had six years of control and elite speed. Good chances a team with space or lots of dead weight (and a smart GM) take a swing on that. If they knew they were gonna call him up and DFA him because they needed an OF — why the f*** not Mark Payton, who is under control for 1 year? Is that not why he's in the org? It's just more bad asset management. Between Getz and AKME, it's like JR's #1 requirement is "ineptitude at spreadsheets."

  12. We have been saying it all season. Getz is the worst 40-man roster manager of all time. Why and how does a guy who used to be a director of player development think that awful vets on one year expiring contracts in an epically horrible losing season are worth more to retain until the end of the season only than any young players for potentially 6+ years?

  13. The Bulls are of course in the exact same spot as the White Sox. All of the moves they do, be it Caruso, Zach, Vuc...does anyone believe it's going to lead to them building a winner? Do we have any sort of faith the owner is going to put everyone else in a position to succeed? Built for the long term with the right foundation? My answer is of course no....so what does any of it matter?

  14. I can't think of Chuckie without thinking of this post when we first got him. Brilliant.

  15. You may need to wait a long time for that. A free agent compensation pick will be likely if the White Sox hold out for this return.

  16. It feels like you're selling really low right now on Luis. Unless he gets white hot in the next few weeks, I doubt we will like any of the offers.

  17. It's a mental illness among fans in the belief trading to get better. It may work for some organizations but not this one. I'd say the ones where it works is they improved in scouting and development.

  18. Yeah and he sucked so much in the playoffs that the Thunder benched him. He's a jack of all trades, but good at none. He's also an RFA next year, so this is basically a 1 year for 1 year trade. You went from elite role player in Caruso to a mediocre project player. You also get no draft picks on top of it. I hate it and for once I wish AKME didn't make a trade.

  19. Not getting any picks for Caruso from a team with a treasure trove of picks is a disgrace

  22. Was Pedro referring to the White Sox fan asses.?

  23. That's because JR's "philosophy" has given the fan base no other option. Is he going to spend whatever it takes to win...no Is he going to invest in international players other than Cuba...no Is he going to go after game changing, superstar free agents...no Is he going to change his attitude towards certain agents and their contract demands...no The only possible way this franchise "may" win under current ownership is to assemble as many 'supposed' good prospects as possible and hope they pan out. Hope is usually not a winning strategy but literally what else can Sox fans hang their hats on under the circumstances? So the team keeps Robert and Crochet. OK...then what? Will keeping those two move the needle towards respectability to say nothing like contention? Again...NO. I'd love to keep them but this organization needs so much and without a change in ownership those two aren't going to be around anyway if the kids do come through because JR will not extend them ESPECIALLY if they do play very well. The fan base much like the organization is between a rock and a hard place.

  24. How do you know you will? Trading to get better is more of a myth with this organization. But.......We can Make Birmingham Better.....every fan wants that. What is decent? 75-87? If this trade fenzy really worked in baseball the habitual losing small market teams (Sox are one of them) have to get better but they don't. They may get lucky once or twice but if the constant is below average development and coaching you might as well keep a star player for fans to watch. Anyone good goes - isn't going to help an organization or the game. Most fans don't care about a stocked or good farm system. Say if they trade Robert and Crochet......what will it take and how long for a fanbase to forgive that? JR has a history of telling the fans they can't have nice things.

  26. Clevinger being put on notice for scuzziest pro player in town, lol...one owner in common, at least he's consistent. Wil Cordero and Brett Myers, come on down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't Caruso and Coby White the main reasons to watch the Bulls over the past couple of seasons???

  35. Yeah, you knew his hot streak was coming to an end. I’m not surprised no 1B/DH-needy teams jumped to trade for him early. The back of his baseball card says he’s bad, and regression is bringing him right back to where he usually is.

  42. Robert still has three full years of control. If teams don't hit his price, you wait.

  43. I just don’t trade him then. There is no harm in keeping him and trying to win. If you are only going to get marginal prospects back then let’s just keep him and see if we can keep him on the field.

  44. If you can't get players you think will contribute to a winning major league team then you might as well hold onto him. It doesn't matter what they trade him for if none of the players received have an impact.

  45. We all love Luis but teams cannot evaluate him as a full-time player. I do not see his value going up either. He does not sound like a student of the game as we know.
