He continuously questioned Jerry’s hiring of Getz last year. Brought up Getz poor track record of development of talent when he was the director of player development from 2017-2020. He also ripped into the 2023 White Sox disaster quite a bit. When he interviewed Kenyan Middleton and Lance Lynn last year on his podcast, both of those guys exposed the dysfunction of the White Sox clubhouse and on field effort last season. It’s kind of funny and ironic that the manager that let all of that happen last season is still around this season to oversee the worst White Sox team in history. Either Getz is extremely great friends with Pedro from his KC days OR Jerry is very stubborn and refuses to pay two managers at once when this season doesn’t mean anything anyway. Regardless of the reasoning, keeping Pedro around for two consecutive 100 loss seasons shows you just how low the White Sox standard is. Grifol shouldn’t be allowed to manage these prized prospects that are close to graduating to the main roster. The way he handled Colas last season was embarrassing. The double standard he shows the young guys vs the lazy veterans on this team is a joke. #FirePedro5 points

What an athlete! How many times has this loser been injured simply running to first base? He should get a doctor’s note to use a scooter to get to first base after he bats.3 points

Aside from "Jerry is cheap," what are they fucking around with here? Next time he's "healthy" and his rehab assignment is finished, why don't they just DFA him?3 points

We are 37 games under .500. We need to creep through .300, then creep through .400, before we creep through. 500. Let's be honest here, the next time we even think about .500 is when we are 0-0 to start 2025.3 points

Elias has built up their farm system to be able to continuously pump out position players. Jury's still out on whether ours can.3 points

All winning streaks have to end sometime. The Sox had a nice 1-0 run. I hope mlb has enough baseballs available for the Dodger series.3 points

I'm so glad that despite everything, we can be united over the black hole of suck that Martin Maldonado3 points

I mean you can believe whatever you’d like. He hasn’t implied that he’ll be the pick. The Sox have no idea who the pick will be right now.3 points

Yes. Real enjoyable to watch a young guy struggle after going 8.2 last week. A real Lol.3 points

Colas should go down because he's not getting everyday ABs, which he needs and deserves. Our dumbass manager insists on playing Benintendi still and Pham will play until he is traded. Is what it is at this point.3 points

Greg, I'm making an assumption here and if I'm wrong I personally apologize to you. To me the thing that seems to concern you the most is the distinct possibility (probability?) that the Sox are going to set the modern day record for worst season breaking the 62 Mets. I get it. It would be a MAJOR embarrassment. The Sox would become the but of late night jokes like the Cubs were for decades. But consider this. If there is ANY chance, however slight, of having JR change his ways (and I fully admit it is a very, very small chance) the only way to maybe have that happen is to be historically bad, a total complete laughingstock. A 38-124 season for example could do it. I myself, would rather take a longshot chance of having real change than see this team win 60-65-70-72 games which I will guarantee you, wouldn't force JR to change diddly squat.2 points

Sure man, whatever. You clearly spent your entire afternoon posting about how much the Sox suck on this message board. Get a life.2 points

This was my initial post: “There’s going to be some growing pains no doubt but this is a good time for these young starting pitchers to get their feet wet. Better now than finding yourself in a situation like the Orioles who otherwise have a World Series team but their rotation is crumbling with each passing day. 22 runs allowed over the last 16+ innings to the Astros, which comes on the heels of losing their #2 starter for the year ouch” You just couldn’t help taking this post as an opportunity to bring our GM into the discussion, yet again. Funny thing is we’re not even trying to win this season after trading half the team last July, have one of the worst teams in mlb history this season, and yet I’d still rather have our current rotation than the Orioles rotation lol2 points

Eloy likely to be back on the IL soon, so Colas may get another chance to sit in the bench. Eloy is pathetic. Mr. Glass.2 points

Greg, this position of yours is driving my crazy. WHO CARES IF THEY ARE NEAR .500. That sucks just as bad as what is happening now. Playing .480 baseball gets you s%*#. What matters is putting together a team/organization that has a legit chance to contend NOT JUST for a division but to play with the big boys. From 1981-2006 under JR at least Sox fans had a reasonable chance to see that happen.2 points

Another one of those boring games with Schriffen telling us how competitive the Sox are. Eloy doesn't belong on the field right now.2 points

Offense Defense still bad Bullpen still bad The Sox probably don't let ReyLo start Once upon a time. From 2014-2016, Sale was #5 in fWAR and Quintana was #8. Rodon had fallen into their laps. Plus, they team literally can't tank. The new rules block them from drafting higher than 10 next year. The only thing anyone would want to do this year is try to get good value for players on the roster before they leave/lose value. Example: If they held onto Gio+Lopez and both decide to sign elsewhere, they don't get Quero or Bush, who are both performing well. Depressing example using the Bulls: Caruso was reportedly worth 2 first round picks this past trade deadline. Drummond was worth multiple seconds. LaVine and DDR both had good value in 2022-2023 - when the team was treading water in the exact same manner as last year, with it clear they couldn't use both. Vuc might have been worth a second as a salary dump, now he has an albatross. By holding onto everything, they've got Josh Giddey and whatever they could get for LaVine in return.2 points

How do what fans think the team should have got for a player have anything to do with the actual market and what was going on? You give him credit for a fanbase having a heightened opinion of a guy?2 points

Greg...please this doesn't serve you well at all. Please stop. This team will be lucky to play ,300 ball when four or five guys are shipped out. And again for the millionth time Beni isn't going anywhere unless the Sox can include him in a trade package. JR will not approve cutting his ass with years left on his deal.2 points

Agreed. Why find out what we have in the younger kids, when we can probably go find an aging has been FA? Maybe we can ask David Wright or Adrian Beltre to come out of retirement, to really push this roster into overdrive!2 points

Grifol has consistently played vets over young players this season. If Getz hasn’t told Grifol to wise the fvck up, he is culpable too. Other than the mediocre return we will get for most of our positional players, why would you not want to see what younger players like Colas can do in a wasted season to plan for the future? Also, have you looked at Pham’s stats lately? He isn’t returning jack squat, just like Sheets, whom you have been hyping up recently due to all of the 1B-needy teams. Robert has been terrible. Unless he gets hot, he won’t be traded until the offseason at the earliest. No idea why you would never mention Benintendi. The Sox are stuck with his sorry ass until they cut him.1 point
-
It's actually funny how the couple of admins and their acolytes pound the same square peg into the same round hole of their forced narrative with every single roster move. LOL. Pham will be traded in 5 weeks. I'm guessing, from what Southsider has hinted at, that Robert is either traded by 7/30, and if not, he goes right back on the IL for a month, to tune him up for a September cameo, then they shop him in the off-season. Benintendi? Who knows? Trying to get him right again? Sheets will probably be gone by the TDL. That's 2 slots for Colas and Pham/DeLoach to get regular at-bats for 2 months. Guys, it's truly funny how you act like Pedro Grifol pulled out a knife and slit somebody's throat in the season finale. "It's a horrible team, so whatever dumb ideas that enter my mind, the White Sox should slavishly carry out!!!" The draft is in 3 weeks. The TDL in 5. They'll move the people who are sought after, then start promotions. Calm down, already.1 point

Anyone noting Sox are getting good pitching for the most part? I still say .490 is possible the rest of the way. Get rid of Beni, play Lee every day, get our suddenly good starters to throw strikes so they can go 7 2/3 minimum and tell Kopech WE NEED YOU and maybe we got something here (til we trade everything away). Sheets and Vaughn are hitting just a bit of late.1 point
