Oh no we won 2 in a row against another historically awful team to pull back slightly ahead of both the all time worst record and RD pace. Some people here: is this a .490 team?4 points

The Sox are 2-1 in the 2nd half, opposed to 0-3 in the first. An improvement, sure.4 points

Just listened to it that was pathetic. I don't even know what he was saying and then the growls. Yikes.2 points

If they could actually have beaten the crappy teams in their crap division over the years, they would’ve made the playoffs more.2 points

It's funny you say that cause i literally thought right after the call "My 8 year old self would have LOVED that"2 points

Then Kup would say, hey Jack pass the mustard. I had an uncle that also worked for the Sun Times in those years and told me that Kup never paid for a meal in Chicago plus other things, a plug in the column was all that was needed. Of course Chicago’s motto in those days was “The City on the Take”.2 points

When jack Brickhouse broadcast the Bears games with Irv Kupcient. Irv had 1 response to everything Brickhouse would say, "That's right Jack " Stoney could always go down that road.2 points

How can the Sox be the worst team in MLB history when they’re not even the worst team in MLB this season?2 points

He has all of the physical tools to be a #1 starter. Big arm, big strong frame, fast twitch muscle to spare, 102 top fastball, plus he had an outrageous slider. By all indications he should have been Paul Skenes before he got here.2 points

I’ve been about as pessimistic about promoting from within a bad organization but it’s hard to deny the strides the minor league teams have made. Their farm is most likely going to be top 5 to end the season, which different from last rebuild has much stronger depth especially on the pitching side Once Pedro is out at seasons end, I actually kind of think the Sox are in a good place for the future. I will never allow myself to go full blown “Pray for the League” again but there’s something here. Here’s to hoping the Sox have another strong draft, hopefully they keep Luis Robert and Crochett and use both as foundation pieces but if they decide not to it’s because a team(s) paid a premium which oddly enough I trust Getz to get right.2 points

There sure is alot of pitching to dream on in our minors. Nice to see Thorpe and Cannon on the big club too.1 point

I know we all get excited about the pitchers in Birmingham obviously but the trio of Keener, Bautista and Gordon is a sneaky fun one down in Kanny too.1 point

Oh you're a good Catholic boy Gregory. What does the good Book say ? You must be like a little child to enter the Kingdom of heaven . While as adults we might think that call was at best rather silly and at worst ridiculous but let's also remember what we might've thought hearing it as a young baseball fan. Hopefully children still go to games and watch games on TV with Dad or Mom . Kids might like it and if makes a kid smile or like it enough to want to watch more .Hopefully, as parents watching with our children, we're not cursing at the TV in front of them.1 point

Sox beat Rox 5-3. Thorpe looked good. Couple of trade candidates did well. Good game !1 point

Lunacy ? White Sox designated hitter Eloy Jimenez has been noticeably laboring running the bases lately. After Jimenez knocked a pinch-hit single to left field in the eighth inning of the Sox’ 11-3 win over the Rockies on Saturday, manager Pedro Grifol sent outfielder Corey Julks to pinch-run. The Sox need Jimenez’s bat, but he doesn’t look right on the base paths as he continues to recover from a hamstring injury. “We measure all this stuff every day, and he gets up between 75 and 83%,” Grifol said. “The thing we are looking at is making sure that instead of doing that in short spurts, we measure it out by feet, too.” Jimenez’s lack of mobility also showed in the Sox’ 5-3 win Friday. Jimenez scored from third after catcher Korey Lee grounded out, but if Rockies first baseman Michael Toglia had elected to throw home, there was a good chance Jimenez would have been thrown out. If Jimenez is compromised, why is he active? “Because in past history, even when he’s come back, it’s taken him 10 to 12 days, 10 to 14 days, to really get into sync with everything,” Grifol said. “Not just at the plate, but running around, the workload and all that stuff.” Getting Jimenez up to speed is the Sox’ priority, and they want him to work through his struggles — both physically and at the plate — in the majors. “You can go down there and try to get a rehab assignment, but it’s never the same as getting it here in the big leagues,” Grifol said. “The most important thing is, if he feels good at the plate and he’s swinging the bat, he can really help us.” ?1 point

Baseball is mostly seven guys standing around a lot which is why it got buried by football. The analytics are amazing though.1 point

Neither of these things are actually clear though. We don't actually know that Getz is tearing it down to the studs, and we likely won't until the trade deadline. As for Grifol, I still think that is entirely out of his hands at this point. Getz put out a roster in 2024 that he thought would be solid, with real defensive improvements as well as a better clubhouse culture. Yet here we are on June 19th, and they finally crossed 20 wins last night. He assembled one of the worst teams in Major League Baseball history thinking it could be competitive in the division. He did not lock himself into bad longterm money, I'll give him that, but there has been no emphasis on development for the future. This entire year has been a waste and does nothing to help the longterm health of the roster. He sounds more clueless than anything on how to actually fix the mess he helped orchestrate.1 point

I really wish one of the beat reporters would simply ask the question in the scrum: "Chris, less than a year ago at your introductory press conference, your boss said he thought the 2024 White Sox would be better than last year, and assured fans this wouldn’t be a true rebuild. Are you on the same page with Jerry? What changed?” But of course no one will.1 point
