  1. Remember all the fools that celebrated Jason being gone? Idiots.

  3. Not to mention our awesome injury prevention program.

  4. He would probably complain that he was rushed if they did call him up.

  5. I just don’t really feel the fun and energy as much as I feel him trying to make his call viral instead of calling what he sees.

  6. I get the feeling that Smith got slot and Bonemer and Larson got more than first assumed. I think they punted the second half of day 2 to pay for that.

  7. No single organization maximizes a player’s potential like the White Sox. I’m all in.

  8. Zach Remillard was DFAed 4/22, and outrighted May 1st. Remillard was not on the 40-man. Ramos was the only infielder on the 40-man. Mendick went on the IL and Ramos was called up May 4th. Zach Remillard was recalled May 8th. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/teams/chi-white-sox/transactions/ ptac is correct, you are not.

  10. Also - f*** these new rules.

  11. Just seems like a precursor to an infielder getting dealt

  12. All right the draft is over, let's get to dealing!

  13. Plus there are more physical specimen's and one loud tool type players. I know you probably aren't drafting real players here, but I do like them looking for something they can try to work with. Go back to a guy like Duke Ellis and his 80 speed, or the guy who hits 101 and can't find the zone. Give me a tool you can't teach and see if we can do something with it.

  14. Well-earned. There's a time and a place to be an obnoxious homer. 27-71 isn't it.

  15. I judge this based off my wife, who passively listens while I judge games. She enjoyed Jason and Steve and all their banter. She likes Stacey King and Adam Amin. She cringes all the fucking time with Schriffen.

  16. If a guy can't throw strikes but is ranked #213, I think it speaks to the weakness in the draft.

  17. Jason is really, really, really good at what he does. It took me hearing him with other guys and some time to really appreciate his style, but he is one of the best there is.

  18. Boggles my mind seeing sox fans continue to give their money to Reinsdorf after all the middle fingers he has shown us over the years. We should be averaging under 7k.

  19. That thread made too many grown men cry. This is time for unity.

  20. The white Sox seem good at stuff basically only if you compare them to the Rockies.

  21. Well, that's assuming they don't turn it around in the 2nd half, Timmy. ?

  22. They will pick 1 in every other round.

  23. I'm sorry, is the rawr not a cringe sound effect?

  24. A bunch of us would argue Baldwin is a top prospect. Industry ranking be damned. Let him simmer in AAA. He just got there.

  25. If it keeps them from rushing a prospect that isn’t ready yet, I’m good with it.

  26. I'm going to die on the hill that Senzel is going to hit. No better place for his long overdue breakout than here.

  27. Major league deal…I’m guessing DeJong is dealt in the next few days

  28. I prefer losers in their 30's.

  29. Who would you rather they waste them on? Rush minor league players who aren't ready?

  30. It's not a 5 man class. That's ridiculous.

  31. I definitely don't hate the guy like a lot of people do, but he is not even close to the quality of Benetti.

  32. None of those guys have gotten to the majors right? I also don't see any of them in our top 30, at least at MLB so far.
    2 points
  33. Correct. However with the new age of NIL in college it may cost significantly more to get the HS kids in round 2 to skip school. If you don't believe they are quality prospects, that's a different story.

  34. Warms my heart that the Sox had the #169 and #469 picks in this draft.
    2 points
  35. The Sox only punted 1 round in 2023. And they still paid a big bonus in round 7. i thought they had changed. This year they punt 5 rounds, and really didn't get a player of the talent that should warrant any punting at all. That interview in I think Future Sox really seemed like Shirley was unprepared for the nuances of this draft.

  36. The fact that the Sox dropped to the worst from 6th and the Tigers jumped from the worst to the 10th should shed some light on that, yes

  37. Building velocity is nearly impossible with any significance barring injury or growth from a HS kid.

  38. The Sox were a 101-loss team last year but had a #6-rated broadcast booth, per this same study / metric. I think there might be more to this than just the on-field product.

  39. Another s%*# on Schriffen thread. Someday people will realize whatever these ratings are and however they rate announcers.......if the sox were 16 games over .500 it wouldn't matter and the ratings would be totally different. People s%*# on the organization for everything (They deserve it)............but it's easy/convenient to hate on them

  40. For the record, if the choice is between a specimen with flaws, and a 5'9" reliever throwing 92, give me the flaws all day.

  41. Garrett Crochet worth a haul? After one of his recent outings, a rival evaluator who saw Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Garrett Crochet texted the following: “Absolutely incredible. Someone should give them what they want. Fastball that explodes, angle, life (on his fastball) just absurd. I’d give them like five prospects for him right now.” Crochet, 25, is earning only $800,000 this season and isn’t a free agent until 2027. There are no perfect examples of previous trades that could match a potential Crochet trade, but a couple recent moves that have a similar profile include: Zack Greinke being traded to the Houston Astros for four prospects and Tyler Mahle being traded to the Minnesota Twins for three prospects.

  42. It's 6 players in an 11 player class so far. This draft is really bad. Players legitimately not worth playing the slot game through round 10. The White Sox believe that Mclain, Saucke and Antonacci are real pieces for them.

  43. I don't think they would give Sloan $3M in any scenario. I don't think they had him valued that highly. They would likely give that money to a guy like Kash Mayfield but not Sloan. You also have to remember the key is to hit on that first pick. Pittsburgh already fucked up this scenario when they underslotted Henry Davis at 1-1 and he's awful. They totally biffed 1-1. He's so bad he can't play ahead of Joey Bart or Yasmani Grandal. With the first pick I'll take the high floor/high ceiling college lefty over a low floor/high ceiling HS position player with a questionable hit tool.

  44. That’s a really rough day 2. Let’s hope there is something coming tomorrow…I’m definitely worried they blew their entire load on the two prep picks.
