  1. They were 29th because they had a 100 loss team. A new owner would see there is huge potential to the upside waiting to be captured.

  2. Wolkow smashes an RBI single to RF in his next at bat. 4 RBIs on the night.

  3. I don't know what everyone's complaining about. I like the broadcast team tonight just fine.

  5. My dad and I took a road trip to KC during my junior year in HS for a Sox series. Sitting a few rows behind us one of the games was Geddy Lee. Both of us are huge RUSH fans so it was awesome. He was super nice and gave us an autograph. He's a huge baseball fan and just randomly goes to games all the time. Definitely one of my cooler MLB game moments.

  6. We shouldn't have to make that choice. A major league team should be able to hire a good play-by-play man. As for me, it isn't hate. I just don't want anyone insulting my intelligence.

  7. I love that tweet following an assessment of Schriffen where the first sentence says that he learned to tone down his act ???

  8. There is no devil you don't know when you are on pace for worst baseball record in 100 years.

  9. Something like Basallo, Norby, Beavers and a tiny sweetener for Crochet and a reliever makes sense for both teams imo.

  10. lol why would the White Sox prefer to package them both? Thats a dumb post from a Dodgers account.

  11. I’ve been a Sox fan since 1952 and I never thought that I would see such a pathetic display of baseball, this is worse than hell. I’ve seen some bad Sox teams like 1970, the late 80s and the last rebuild but this is beyond what I can describe with words.

  12. Why couldn't they wait until they traded Flexen to release Maldy.

  14. What did he do? Maybe he’s depressed for being the worst ranked broadcaster.

  15. Well the dumb baseball hasn't stopped. Why would Pham steal 3rd and Robert not steal 2nd on the same pitch ? Vaughn hits into his customary DP to drive the point home.

  16. As much as this team sucks, I’ve missed being able to just put the game on

  17. They didn't lose money. No team is opening their books to the honest figures, not publicly anyways. Lip man detailed it well.

  18. Until any team allows an independent accountant to examine their books this is all speculation but Manfred has said MLB is now at least a 10 Billion dollar a year business. There are more revenue streams both domestically and internationally for MLB than ever before. And in the Sox case it is not just revenue from merchandise, parking, concessions and advertising it is the very team-friendly deal they have on the stadium with the ISSA.

  19. The prospect of the White Sox moving out of Chicago has always titillated Cub fans. Not going to Happen.

  20. I hear you loud and clear , but someone with no ties to Chicago and spending billions to acquire the club might have a different plan.

  23. I definitely don’t want Schriffen’s job and I still think he sucks balls. You could listen to him for just 5 to 10 minutes and start cringing.

  25. Look, if he is going to be a 30/100 kind of guy, we need that at 1B too.

  26. Pressure isn't the word, as there is no accountability is this org. What Getz does or doesn't do this deadline is likely to have to most impact on team success in the near future. He needs to get it right, or he could set the rebuild back by years. But at the end of the day, he'll still be here even if he fucks it up.

  27. I will say I am not a fan of the premise that only the bad teams seem to be under pressure. San Diego and Baltimore have to be feeling the pressure of their divisions and their past failures.

  28. still can't believe our GM is Chris Getz, seriously WHAT THE f***

  29. If things break right for Brooks, I think the sox are looking at a Tommy Edman like player. Which would be an awesome get for this franchise from the 12th round. A compitent bat with average to slightly above average defense you can plug anywhere on the diamond good for 2-3 fWAR a year on average with break out potential.

  30. Yup. Again, Chris needs to nail the return on both Crochet/Robert. It will largely dictate when this team is competitve again. Absolutely needs to hit on some core position player pieces.

  32. Yankee prospect hype is the absolute worst. Spencer Jones isn't a worthy headliner for either player.

  33. I thought this was viewership ratings at first. I thought that made sense. Then I realized they were rating the actual announcing, and I still thought the same thing.

  34. I would take that 1st package all day. ??‍♂️

  35. That's what I would hope, but if so, it can't be for a discount of what each of the three of them would get on their own. Each of Robert and Crochet has to hurt individually. If together, it has to hurt twice as much. Kind of like a Presidential debate.

  36. Fairly confident that Nicky will be at 2B tomorrow and Baldwin “taking it all in” as Pedro says from the bench.

  37. I don't really see any net benefit in changing horses at this point. Just let him finish out the year and s%*# can him on some Friday night in October.

  38. Say what you want about greg, he is always kind in his posts and respects the views of others even if others' views innately bother him. Peace on earth good will toward all. -- As far as the thread I got no apparent problems with Sox draft albeit I have not studied it at all cept for the first pick. He seems fine.

  40. You'd HAVE to get Miller. A Crawford and Caba is an easy decline for me.

  42. I hope Bowden's wrong. I'll take 2 of Crawford/Miller/Caba as the main pieces.

  43. I'd much rather see Chuckie than Quero. Quero shouldn't sniff the big leagues until next May.
