I'll go with the following in order as teams prospects that I think could be Sox prospects this time next week: 1) Philly 2) Seattle 3) Dodgers 4) Boston 5) Baltimore7 points

Heyman is still hearing that Yankees aren't willing to give up Spenser Jones for Crochet.6 points

The Rushing scouting report is terrifying. Hell no to him being the headliner.5 points

That feels light for Crochet, imo. Rushing would be a disappointing centerpiece for several reasons.4 points

I just think looking at slot values isn’t the way to do this. They had $15.3 million to spend and needed to get as much talent as possible. It’s fine if some don’t believe they did that but going overslot on a few guys and underslot on a few others later to pay for it doesn’t really matter. Teams operate similarly every year.4 points

This will be the worst team of modern baseball. No doubt.4 points

You say this as if he hasn’t already. His off-season doesn’t exactly inspire confidence that he’ll get any of these trades right.3 points

Yeah I wouldn't move him just to move him. He's been bad and I would rather just hold onto him and see if he pitches better the rest of the season/first half of next year.3 points
-
Wilson has a ton of control left, I’m not moving him unless we get legit value for him which probably doesn’t happen right now.3 points
-
100% agree with this. LAD would be like my 6 or 7th choice of the top options.3 points
-
Lack of hitting is the major one. Being a Catcher, that might not stick at catcher, and doesn't have a bat to profile at 1B. Sox need an ELITE prospect to headline a Crochet deal. He is not that. I would be pretty pissed at the return Jimmy hinted.3 points
-
I need a trade ASAP or at least a good juicy rumor. I can't take these stupid updates from the reporters saying stuff like, "White Sox are sellers."3 points
-
I'd wish they would at least do something minor today. It's going to be tough making 5 or 6 or 7 trades in a day or so, especially if a couple are rather large.3 points

The absolute worst decision that was made was JR saying he couldn't afford to lose time. Hell, I would be way more accepting of a 120 loss season had he tore this thing down to the studs and had a very thorough search for an entire new baseball operation. Instead, what is happening right now is what he said he was avoiding with the hiring of Getz.3 points
-
See? If JR would have hired from outside the org, we would have had to wait until next year for this fun.3 points

The whole organization is so awful. No one has the balls to step up and tell Jerry that he’s about to destroy the entire fan base.2 points

Baseball isn’t designed to have teams lose this often. This is so ridiculously bad. Pedro has to get fired tomorrow or Friday.2 points

Meh. Don’t assume based off of one offseason and some dipshit named “Sportsguy.”2 points

If the White Sox would’ve taken Mike Sirota and Peyton Stovall, nobody would have an issue. The thing is though, none of us have any idea if those two players are better than McLain and Antonacci.2 points
-
Skepticism of this franchise is always warranted and these are fair criticisms. I didn’t know much about McLain, Saucke and Antonacci as they came off the board. I trust the recent success of the area guys who recommended them though. Now we just need to see if they’re right.2 points
-
I was mostly confused because I didn't think they were paying any of the players in 6-10. I also wasn't expecting Bonemer to be quite that much. I think the amateur scouting department is pretty good. I'm not going to assume that I know more than them on Casey Saucke and Sam Antonacci. What if they took Saucke in round 3 and paid him $847K as an underslot and then took McLain in round 4 and paid him $800K as an overslot signing? Would it still be an issue. I just don't think it's a big deal as the class comes into focus. Also, I'm still waiting for an explanation on what they should've done instead. I have a feeling I'll be waiting awhile.2 points

James Fegan's interview with Bannister which probably overlaps and covers some other areas. https://soxmachine.com/2024/07/brian-bannister-white-sox-draft/2 points

Seems like Sosa was sent to AAA so DeJong can audition at 3B for teams. Sosa can get regular ABs in AAA2 points

The issue seems to be what they paid for Saucke and Antonacci based on media rankings.2 points
-
Maybe we can get Andrew Jones' son from AZ and run him all the way into oblivion.2 points
-
Once you get past Fedde, it is pretty much taking the best offer out there. Maybe Kopech takes some thought, but that group of Brebbia, Wilson, Pham, DeJong, etc is literally whatever you get for them, move them.2 points
-
Like somebody else said, I wish they'd just lony up 5y/150m and sign Crochet. The guy is special.2 points
-
With another season like it to follow after the selling is done.2 points
-
They really don't offer any names. 1. White Sox trade Garrett Crochet to Orioles 3. White Sox trade Luis Robert Jr. to Phillies 4. White Sox trade Erick Fedde to Astros2 points

None of the management of this organization deserves their job. Getz, Griffol, etc.2 points

It is pretty impressive to manage to subtract 20 wins from a 100 loss team, but here we are.2 points

It is astonishing how bad this season is. Like you think you think there isn't much difference between a bad season and a terrible one, but then you get this historically bad run (without even getting a #1 pick) and it is just horrendous. When we had that run of around .500 there was this thought that we were stabilizing and turning around. But every team has runs in the season of .500. It's just bad teams surround it by losing streaks and good teams with winning streaks. White sox are surrounding it with month long losing streaks. I don't even remember winning in july?2 points

There is a tremendous amount of coping happening on the Score right now lol. They are NOT happy2 points

I’m the opposite. I’m not worried about Crochet having success next year, his stuff is too good. And it seems like pretty much every pitcher is an injury risk at this point, I don’t think that’s as big of a worry as others are making it out to be. Robert on the other hand…if he doesn’t get off to a hot start next year there’s suddenly going to be a fairly large sample size of not being a good hitter. I think his value would drop a lot. Plus there’s just as good of a chance he gets hurt as Crochet.2 points

Is 1970 the last time they were 50 games under .500 at any point during the season? If Crochet and Fedde were more like their pre-season projections, they might not have 20 wins now. South Side, staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad up!2 points

Not a conspiracy. That area is so small and congested, it would have been an easy shot2 points

Let's extend Crochet and build a nasty rotation around him, Thorpe, Schultz, the new lefty kid from Arkansas, and Cannon!2 points

I read it as nothing because Morosi is bad and just tweets whatever all of the time.2 points

Haha if they weren't going to do it when Harper was there for the taking, they won't do it now.2 points
