Heads up that in next week we will likely shut down site for a bit to upgrade the forum and clean up some server stuff. Was hoping to limp through season but trade deadline outages on site showed we got to take care of sooner vs later. Will give more of a heads up when I know exact timing.9 points

You have possibly the worst team in baseball, your prospects are imploding in the minors, a terrible trade deadline and your best player embarrassed the organization by going behind their back with his agent. Yet of course, Jerry is nowhere to be found.5 points

I just have to say that I hate this team so much, I don't particularly like any player on it, I hate every coach on it and f*** jerry reinsdorf. Thank you.5 points

I want to see mlb force Reinsdorf to sell for the best interests of baseball.5 points

Remember when Grifool said they'd trade offense for solid defense? How about 5th worse fielding% in all of MLB? Better than 4th worse, I guess. Laid $1100 in Feb on under 63.5 wins. Easiest & safest grand I ever made.4 points

Getz said he didn't like last year's team. What does he think of what he put together?4 points
-
17 losses in a row, 27-84 record. How on earth does the manager keep his position here. They don't care.4 points
-
Eh, I think most people felt Getz was a lateral move if not a worse move as far as a replacement goes.4 points
-
He takes a beating on this board because - He was and is not qualified to be an MLB GM. - He took a 100 loss team that should have been a slam dunk to improve and somehow made it 20 games worse. - He has made numerous head scratching trades and signings. This season isn't the worst of it yet, this is just the start.4 points

I’d give it a C. Holding Robert and Crochet is the smart move. The Fedde return was a player short. I don’t dislike what was acquired but the deal is at least one piece short. The other trades were fine and I think Banks and Eloy were really good ones.4 points
-
D. Mozeliak and the Cardinals wiped their dick right across Getz face right in plain view of both Getz girl and also Harold, so it was probably very humiliating for Getz to have that happen in front of his peeps and he probably hasnt been able to make eye contact with either of them since then, but the Banks trade was good. The Eloy trade doesn't really move the needle either way because the savings are unlikely to be reinvested into the team. They should have been able to move Brebbia for a useful asset. If you're looking for reasons it wasn't an F, at least they resisted the temptation to move Robert for pennies on the dollar and if you're looking for reasons it wasn't Chernobyl, at least no other team took the bait of packaging Crochet with Benintendi. That would have been a disaster of biblical proportions. In the final analysis: f*** this team. As Walter Cronkite used to say, "and that's the way it was on Tuesday, July 30th, 2024."4 points

If there was ever a professional sports team that needed an absolute house cleaning, its this one.4 points

He had a better chance of getting out of here if he didn’t talk about the extension and completely close off post season pitching.3 points

It's mostly on the guy who put this pile of dung together in Chris Getz3 points

I wrote a lot of words on the draft for those interested: https://www.futuresox.net/2024/07/30/white-sox-add-plethora-of-players-in/3 points

Let him win a game and then fire him....let him leave on a positive note. We can wait a couple more weeks.3 points

I keep saying this, he’s a DH. Terrible glove everywhere, although I have not seen him play 1b. Maybe he’s decent there? If he does not hit — a lot — this is going to go down as one of the biggest missed opportunities in baseball over the last decade. I would have preferred Norby/Stowers. Hopefully, he hits and proves me wrong.3 points

I’m seriously thinking that this team might not win another game the rest of the season, we have a AAA team playing at GRF, JR and company need to slash ticket prices the rest of the year and give some kind of a refund to season ticket holders. Manfred needs to talk to Reinsdorf and tell him if he doesn’t want to do what it takes to put a Major League team on the field then he needs to sell the franchise to someone who will, this is beyond disgraceful.3 points

I just don’t get how they scouted him and thought “we need this guy, he’s a great fit for our home park”. One thing that is totally evident is Getz doesn’t put an emphasis on “loud tools”….wonder why3 points

Seems horrific, but when it's factored in that no top 100 prospects were traded, maybe Getz took the best course. Either way, this team is fucked.3 points

What would you like to see the team do the rest of the season? I will start: DFA Sheets and Senzel Call up Colas and DeLoach LF Fletcher CF Robert RF Colas DH DeLoach (rotate guys in the OF here to give a half day off) 3B or 2B Vargas 2B or 3B Sosa SS Baldwin (might as well) Bench Benintendi and Lopez Might as well see what you have in the above guys playing majority of the time as some are already 26/27. Edit: I don't know how you would even line it up. Plug Robert in the 2-hole, Vaughn 3 spot, and pick the rest out of a hat?2 points

I just take the lack of any change, a lack of accountibility, and a sign the organization finds what is going on out on the field, OK. It's disgusting. Having a guy make his major league debut up 1 run in the 8th after another guy you are supposedly counting on in the future, pitches his ass off, should be firable on its own.2 points

The farm system is not top tier. This year’s draft did not yield a highly thought of bat. The trade deadline did not yield a high impact bat, nor did it demonstrate competence by this FO group. There is absolutely no reason to be optimistic about the near to mid-range future of this team. I don’t think delaying these trades lowered the value of these players, but how Getz et al did at the TDL certainly lowered my expectations on what they will get for those players. I can never remember a Sox outlook this bleak. Bonemer and Wolkow basically both have to be stars for them to get out of this. Unlikely.2 points

Oh you poor diluted soul. You actually are pretending Jerry cares .That's adorable. In a twisted way it makes me thinkk JR is ill and the countdown has begun to The big sell. US Sellular Field.2 points

Oh it was crazy. Right handed hitters. Major league debut one run game trying to break a 15 game losing streak after a guy gives up 1 hit in 7 innings. Maybe they lose anyway, but this game is on Pedro. Fire his ass. He’s terrible.2 points

I mean, i hate Pedro as much as the next guy. He should have been fired last season. But he's not completely wrong here. And at this point, its going to be mostly a new clubhouse anyway.2 points
