Thorpe could be fine with rest but if it’s Tommy John, 2025 isn’t a bad year to miss honestly. Better than 3 years from now4 points

It’s already too late, my friend. Come to grips with that. The fanbase in this city is changed forever.3 points

https://www.mlb.com/prospects/stats/affiliates?teamId=145&date=08/03/2024 https://www.milb.com/scores/all/all/whitesox I am going to take the Mrs on a vacation. Will be away for awhile. I will check in on occasion but y'all may have to do the threads . Be well, go Sox!2 points

The White Sox strategy/mantra for decades. The best part is that all of the players in my list, other than Brebbia and Clevinger, were proven to be terrible players over years and not worth signing for any more than maybe a million bucks or as a non-roster invitee. Getz decided to pay them more with guaranteed contracts.2 points

Why pay a single good player what they are worth when you field a whole team of shitty players for the same price??2 points

If this organization would have just done the opposite every time they made a decision since last year’s drafts, they’d be in a better spot2 points

Start of this inning I was typing Losing time. I looked up to hit submit and nothing was there so I thought screw it. It's no fun predicting the easily predictable.2 points

Luis Robert Jr. taking a fly ball to the head after losing it in the sun would be an apt metaphor for this lost season.2 points

Got me interested, so I looked it up. In the "Modern Era", it's the 1932 Red Sox with a -345 run differential. This is probably still in play, right? All-time is pretty safe with the Cleveland Spiders hitting -723 in 1899.2 points

The bright side is Chris Getz is terrible at putting a roster together so the odds for the #1 pick in the 2026 draft should be high!2 points
-
sure, but 20-30 games worse? To get into historical paces? Come on, even vegas only pegged us for about 102 losses.2 points

To me there is no time to waste firing this bozo. Sure Getz has to go too, but even if he was fired in 5 minutes, it wouldn't impact the team. They can't sign or trade for better players right now. The one thing they should be playing for is trying to avoid being the worst team of all time. The one bullet they have left is changing the manager. It needs to be done now. Every game you wait is stupid. There is some debate what Pedro said to the team when they came back from the All Star break. What can't be debated is they are 0-14 after he said it. He's a joke. Take us out of some of our misery and do the obvious, and shitcan his ass.2 points

I mean they banished Oscar Colas and Lenyn Sosa, what more do you want?2 points

I don't subscribe to the Sun Times, but I get the gist of the article. I have turned down free ticket's because I don't want to give any money, even if it is for parking, to JR. In 2025 I seriously doubt I will get the new Sox/Bulls/Hawks tv package, I will keep up to date on social media. If the youngsters on the team show some progress and pride I will have some intrigue. I have always been a White Sox fan and will be buried a Sox fan but going forward I will not spend one dime for any team JR owns.2 points

I’m think Sizemore should be the guy because the Sox need a Lefty, high obp, middle of the order guy with a high batting average2 points

Back in the day my friend the flamethrower and I played rubber ball against the wall at Mt Greenwood school every day in the summer. Sometimes he'd play somebody else later and pitch a Little League game at night. He threw fastball, curve from 10 to 12 in Little League, went on to Babe Ruth or whatever we called 13-15 and he pitched. He then went to Brother Rice and was a starter, then before college he blew his arm out and that was that. Think of how many times MLB pitchers threw 150 to 200 pitches in college and Babe Ruth to get their teams meaningless championships. Then in the minors? All those innings. The human arm can't take all this work/stress apparently.1 point

The age of the brittle athlete. I started watching baseball in the 70's and I don't recall this many injuries in baseball.1 point

Three hits tonight won't cut it. This lineup and that collection of pitchers would lose 10 out of 10 games every set of 10. That's a bad baseball team. ... Robert 0-for-4 with three more Ks. He appears to be very overrated.1 point

They just lost their 18th straight and are on pace to have the worst winning percentage in the modern era of baseball. Read the room1 point

My God, I think they are really going to do it! 20 straight losses soon!1 point

It’s honestly amazing how much things have collapsed. The team is playing horrible, your ace pitcher pissed everyone off, the minor league prospects for the most part have imploded and you had a terrible trade deadline.1 point
-
It doesn't get talked about enough, honestly. They are 27-85, which is incredible to even type...and NO ONE has been fired. Not a hitting coach, not a pitching coach, and certainly not the manager. It's on pace for the worst season of all-time and NO ONE has been held accountable, or a message sent that this isn't acceptable.1 point
-
Willing to predict that will never happen again in MLB. Grifol would have been fired by every other organization in sports.1 point

A guy who was automatically and undeservedly promoted to GM of this team by a terrible owner is the worst GM in baseball. Go figure.1 point
