After a less than careful review of the Sox organization I can find only one guy that really stands out for consistently having his guys ready to win. They look confident, they look ready, and they deliver and that's due to the diligent efforts of Jason Gilliam, the visiting team clubhouse manager. Here's to you Jason! This season wouldn't be as memorable without your professionalism and attention to detail.4 points

I hope this team wins a game soon so they have a legitimate shot at having four double-digit losing streaks in the same year.4 points

And that’s why I hate all the excuses that get made for Getz. He took an awful team and made it the worst ever without really stacking our farm system. His talent evaluation is going to make it even more impossible to turn this around.3 points

It’s like watching a really good HS team against major leaguers. It’s not a fair fight.3 points

Seeing the talent on Baltimore versus the garbage we are throwing out there is almost unbelievable. The entire organization needs to be blown up and start all over again.3 points

Did Rick Hahn have one of the worst offseasons in baseball? I could swear that was Chris Getz. Rick Hahn contributed to this mess and was already fired for it. It’s all on Getz now.3 points

I have zero faith in the Sox medical staff and would absolutely trust any random person on the street that doesn’t appear to be on crystal meth more than the training staff. The amount of soft tissue injuries this team has from simple things like running the bases or chasing a fly ball in the outfield, the weird situation like just having Baldwin not play for a week with a wrist injury instead of putting him on the 10 day IL, basically telling Yoan Moncada to come back when you’re ready. As recently as 2 seasons ago 5 players in the active lineup were told to not go “too hard” on the base paths for fear of injury. None of these things are normal in a professional sports organization. Hell they aren’t normal in a semi-serious amateur sports organization.3 points

You are going to trust the organization who has put up the worst season in 125 years of modern mlb. That's a heck of a statement.3 points

😆 I love how every single post has now become a mini-roast of the White Sox. They fucking deserve it.3 points

Well, it sure appears that you put your trust in the wrong staff, sorry to say.3 points

Never give this stupid organization the benefit of the doubt. You can almost always assume they fucked up.3 points

There are two mysteries in life. 1. Quantum physics. 2. How R. Hahn gets a pass in this debacle.2 points

Other GMs have tried tanking (aka deliberately losing through intentionally BAD ML roster construction). Getz is managing to outdo all of them. Ever.2 points

According to DVS of the Sun-Times, Flexen going 20 straight starts without his team winning is also a Major League record.2 points

1970 was my first year being a Sox fan. I remembered the excitement in 1971 with new players and new uniforms. Then in 1972 we finished 2nd behind the Athletics. But even the players in 1970 were better than this team. This year has been a total gut wrench.2 points

He is no longer employed, so it isn’t like we can ask for him to be fired anymore. I dunno, I feel like it is implied now and it doesn’t matter. The horse is dead2 points

It’s bizarre Colas or Ramos doesn’t get the call. It almost seems as Getz is calling up the guys he traded for so he can show JR, see, what you had here sucked, even though I was in charge of developing them. The guys most deserving are the guys I traded for.2 points

He might have had more luck at the corner saloon, because whatever this was sure didn't work.2 points

H pe was available during the 2005 playoffs and in 2021. Other than that, he only has time to waste thinking the state will build him a new park. He finally spoke last year and mentioned the fans deserve this situation get fixed quickly. Well, the fans deserve an explanation of what’s going on now. There’s bad, and there’s this. 4-40?2 points

I get the whole as long as JR is in charge nothing will change bit, and for the most part it’s true. But someone else may have focused on someone other than Vargas. Someone else may have selected McCarthy instead of Fletcher. Right there you’re a little better off. The question I would have for you is if JR wasn’t the owner and the Sox were 31-107, what do you think Getzs fate would be? If it’s a goner, wouldn’t that make it the correct move? The last 12 seasons, the Sox have the second worst record in baseball. There needs to be huge change to get the stink out of the organization,2 points

Only public humiliation will do. A flogging or stoning would work for me.2 points

The Sox are obviously a bad organization, but I'm still going to trust the judgement of a medical staff more than a group of 6 terminally online Soxtalk posters who aren't bored by posting the shame s%*# over and over everyday.2 points

if it was a store, it would need to go out of business. It’s totally broken in every aspect2 points

He’s helped develop and build the worst team in baseball history and has made some horrible acquisitions. I will take my chances on a different philosophy compared to his “high floor, low ceiling” bullshit. Getz apparently did an amazing job of convincing people he had no say in the awful acquisitions the past few years, I guess.2 points

Again this whole org needs to be cleaned by a hazmat team. Sheesh2 points

When I made this thread a few days into the season, I honestly never imagined we would see the worst team in Major League history. But here we are.2 points

One thing that needs to be done, no matter what his supposed role is, LaRussa needs to go away. Since his managerial career ended the first time he helped run the D Backs into the ground, went to Boston, Dombrowski got fired. Went to Anaheim, they haven't been above .500 in 9 seasons. Then helped the White Sox reach depths the likes you have never seen. Seems to be a pattern.2 points

Congratulations Jerry Reinsdorf and the ownership group.1 point

I’m for firing Getz because he might be the worst evaluator of talent ever.1 point

The Marlins stat is telling. This was a long time coming. This organization has been on the down slide since winning the division in 2008. Look at the rosters during 1990s and early 2000s. Even when they were not going to the playoffs, they had some talented players on the team. For so long, they have had so few. It gives fans a helpless feeling because there is nothing we can do. This franchise is an absolute disgrace.1 point

39-126 under Getz, but this team nor the one he inherited are in any way his responsibility…🤦🏽♀️1 point

It’s not possible what they are doing. Sox will smash the record.1 point

I can remember sitting in Old Comiskey watching the 1970 team lose 106. They weren't nowhere near this bad. At least owner John Allyn had one excuse. He didn't have a lot of money and he did what he could to keep the franchise from collapsing.1 point

yeah the drafts haven't been great but every team eventually polishes up a low ranked prospect and turns them into a real major leaguer, everyone except the Sox you can't keep blaming the draft, I would put almost all of the blame on Reinsdorf and his GMs, they're the ones who keep putting people in charge of player development who don't know a damn thing about developing a fucking baseball player. we can't be shocked when they f*** up every single high ranked hitting prospect year after year1 point
