I'm all for trying to fix once top prospects but man, you don't target that kind of guy in the trade of your best asset traded at the deadline.6 points

I’m not a professional so I may be way off, but the Dodgers couldn’t get him to hit or field, so I’m thinking the Sox will fail.5 points

I’ll never fault people for going to games. I had season tickets over 30 years so I’ve paid to watch my fair share of bad baseball. And I understand the love of being there. Maybe that’s faded for me a bit. I used to go 65-75 times a year. Last year was the first year I gave up my tickets. I went to around 20 games. This year I have gone to 1 game. In. Milwaukee. I’m at the point where I cannot give JR my money for this crap. I just can’t. I still watch most of the games, but at least I get my time spent traveling to and from back. My company has tickets to all the pro teams in town and occassionally has a raffle when they are available. They are all primo. The other day, the White Sox were the first where no one was interested.5 points

No talent teams typically still win 50 some games. The As won 50 last year. The rebuilding Os won 47, 52, and 54 (COVID in there). This isnt just a lack of talent.4 points

The most sickening thing about this whole disaster is the fact that we are going to get the 10th pick in the draft after having to suffer through this nightmare MLB should be making rules that specifically hurt garbage owners like Jerry. Instead they made a rule that saves him $ on a draft pick and further punishes the fans. Hit Jerry where it hurts him the most, his wallet. Or force the clown to sell (I know that will never happen). Instead, they made a rule that will make it even harder for the team to pull out of this tail spin. And Jerry still won’t give a s%*#. Unbelievable. Forget there being a light at the end of the tunnel, there is no tunnel. This franchise is buried 6 feet under until Jerry is the same…and even then it will still be a long road back.3 points

It’s really amazing how little they have to show talent wise for all the moves they made the last 14 months3 points

Fire everyone, Getz should be ashamed of this3 points

He has been a field coordinator since 2018. One of the many instructors that Getz hired, has done nothing to show value, and gets promoted anyway. "We don't tell him, we do drills, he's done these drills, not sure why it isn't working!?" This is a great quote from clearly a very good professional baseball coach.3 points

A quote from Rick Telanders piece today No, it’s not a nice thing. But this failure should be honored as a symbol of badness, of what can happen when nobody at the top gives a damn. Or, maybe worse, when they do care but are too dumb or arrogant to know they haven’t a clue.3 points

Where is luol Deng from? Meningitis spreads quickly. When someone from my daughters collegiate team was sent the the hospital because they thought she had meningitis, she didn't but had a spinal tap, they quarantined her and separated the entire team from everyone until they got tested. You don't think they are going to be overly cautious during the NBA playoffs? If others around would get it, it would endanger everyonein the locker room and stadium. You stick with your informed, objective opinion. I'll stick with my 35 years of working in sports medicine and we'll disagree.3 points

Remember a few months ago when Kenny Williams said he no longer follows the White Sox and had no idea they were as bad as they are? I wonder what Rick Hahn and Rick Renteria are thinking right now? Renteria is probably laughing.2 points

Chris Getz should be banished from baseball and forced to live his remaining days on a desert island with his former partner in crime Rick Hahn. This 2024 squad is the biggest embarrassment in the history of professional sports and dude should not be given a second chance under any circumstance.2 points

Here you go from my interview with Jimmy: ML: Sox ownership decided to go with the SportsVision experiment in 1982 and you were removed from the play by play booth while Harry left to go to the Cubs. You wound up doing the pre and post-game shows. The Sox started out like gang-busters but by July were a .500 club, then one night Tony LaRussa apparently had it with some of your comments and drove down to the studios after a game and confronted you. I have never heard of such a thing happening before or since at least until the Steve Stone / Cubs controversy. What happened that night? JP: “I had said during a show that whoever was coaching the outfielders wasn’t doing a very good job. They were out of position; they were throwing to the wrong base. It was a bad situation. So one night about 11 or 11:30 at night, LaRussa, Charlie Lau and Jimmy Leyland drive down to the studios. They told the guard they had an appointment to see me and he let them in. I’m in the studio and they march in. LaRussa’s yells, “Are you trying to get Leyland fired?” I didn’t know who was coaching the outfielders so I said “no, but whoever he is he’s doing a lousy job.” They started to act tough when one of our producers walked in, he was a real big guy, about 6-4 and when they saw him they left. I tore Tony’s ass from then on. LaRussa acts real tough but he isn’t and Leyland is nothing but a little phony.” “All I can say is that Tony’s real lucky he’s had great players in Oakland and in St. Louis because he is a terrible manager.”2 points

If you ever wondered how it felt looking at one of the worst professional teams ever assembled, now you know. Getz and JR really did us a great service, it's all up from here!2 points

Because the Dodgers have the best organization in MLB, they know how to evaluate talent with excellent scouts, know how to instruct and develop players in the minors without rushing them to the big club and then to cut bait if the need arises. The Rays are pretty good at this also but of course don’t have the money that LA has.2 points

Can Frank give him his 6-4" 250lb frame? Otherwise Vargas is going to keep struggling. I hate the athletic profile that Getz keeps bringing in. Small guys, maybe a little speed, but very little in the way of long levers or explosive profiles and these guys aren't EVEN GOOD DEFENDERS!2 points

Wait till the Winter. They will probably get 2-3 Vargas type guys for Crochet. All of the prospects humpers and media will rejoice and history in most bad organizations prove the haul and stocked farm systems is nothing but a myth. If you aren't good at identifying talent in drafts I don't see how getting other team's prospects is gonna change that. If we see it this way do you think other GMs are blind to this?2 points

Straight from Deng’s own mouth. He says the Bulls medical staff misdiagnosed and provided bad recommendations for his medical issues multiple times, not just with the meningitis (flu) incident… https://youtu.be/bqL3xNjVGJw?feature=shared2 points

"Insular, sad sack franchises – the Chicago White Sox, Oakland Athletics, Miami Marlins and Colorado Rockies, to name four – belong in a separate category. Those teams barely even bothered to try."--Ken Rosenthal "It’s hard to do what they’re doing. Correct that. What they’re doing was once thought to be impossible. A lot went into this utter ineptitude. Bad trades, bad drafts, bad managing, bad payroll, bad ownership. Where is chairman Jerry Reinsdorf? What possible excuse can there be for this? How does it feel to have gotten so many people stained with mud? But this failure should be honored as a symbol of badness, of what can happen when nobody at the top gives a damn. Or, maybe worse, when they do care but are too dumb or arrogant to know they haven’t a clue." -- Rick Telander2 points

I’d rather see them lose out, finish with 100 more losses than wins and set an unbreakable record for consecutive losses.2 points

The Sox are obviously a bad organization, but I'm still going to trust the judgement of a medical staff more than a group of 6 terminally online Soxtalk posters who aren't bored by posting the shame s%*# over and over everyday.2 points
