I’ve read that Hawk has privately belittled the franchise. Weirdly, I also read that the Dolphins QB is a fan, but isn’t very happy about the direction of the team. Think the article was in the Athletic. ”Hawk, Tua spit on that thing”6 points

Even if they do the impossible and get a streak against these bad teams going, they remain #1 in all of our hearts as the worst team we have ever fucking seen in our lives6 points

So Hawk can't stand Schriffen either. South Side, staaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnd up!6 points
-
I can't wait for the Sox to win a few games later when all the teams are out of it and hear Schriffen go nuts about the momentum they have built for 2025.5 points

Love anything as much as a team owner loves to hire an unqualified guy to do a highly qualified job, in the hopes that he figures it out (and the owner can pay him peanuts until he does)3 points

If anything proves that Hawk is not fit to call games, it's this right here.3 points

It’s gotten to the point I don’t care if they move the team. Everyone in the organization sucks2 points

Eder with his 9.87 ERA at Charlotte should fit in well with the current White Sox bullpen.2 points

No 4 games per month since July would be 9-10 wins. You're exaggerating, it's not nearly that high.2 points

Were these peoples' families threatened or something? I don't understand the loyalty to JR.2 points

Guys, if they lose the next 6 straight, they can break the all-time loss record and the record for most 10-game losing streaks in the same game. Too perfect to actually happen though.1 point

Which is weird because the last time he talked, he said his number 1 priority this offseason was to fix the bullpen.1 point

Shutout again, 6 singles 1 walk 9 strikeouts im already ready for next season to be over.1 point

Free runner scored on a single top 11, putting Kanny down 1-0. Wolkow made a productive out to move their free runner to 3rd in the bottom half. AMak tapped one back to the pitcher, who made a bad throw to give up the tying run on an E1. 1-1 with 1 out, and AMak on 2nd after the error. McCants smacks a liner over the head of the LF to walk it off. Such a gutsy performance from the team to beat the reigning champs and head to the championship series! The pitching was actually insane, 17K combined for Peppers (5IP/5K), Hartzog (2IP/2K), Combs (2IP, 6K!!!), and McLaughlin (2IP, 4K). Intense energy all game and it was getting a little chippy toward the end (including the opposing manager getting ejected).1 point

Getz only got this opportunity by snitching out the incompetence of his direct managers while at the same time not acknowledging his own shortcomings as the head of our player development function. He partially deserves blame for taking advantage of stubborn, gullible old man.1 point

yeah i used to consider myself a diehard fan but i'm far from that now, thats for sure1 point

Getz on the broadcast. Don’t listen if you missed taking your meds. He likes where the pitching is. Isn’t signing free agents. Is counting on the young guys on the roster improving. Holy f***.1 point

This is truly the most pathetic season I’ve ever witnessed across any sport. I almost cant believe it’s real.1 point

They need this trade to work out so bad, they just make it dumber. Ramos isn't a GG at 3B, but compared to Vargas he is, and definitely could improve.1 point
-
At the very least, can we STOP putting Vargas at 3B over Ramos? He isn't a 3B, he isn't....he isn't. Stop forcing square pegs into round holes.1 point

“As long as Jerry’s there, there’s going to be an effort to improve,” Harrelson said. “It’s just that simple.” Do effort and improve have alternate meanings i'm not aware of?1 point

I'm still not sure if his approach is deliberate or oblivious but I can absolutely picture that, yes. Like, the fans could pack the stadium for the potential loss #121, and as the game was in the 9th inning there would be a ton of sarcastic/cynical cheering - but I just know that on the broadcast he'd misinterpret it - "SOX! fans....on their FEET!...trying to support their TEAM! Trying to give some HOPE! They haven't given UP!" For Attitude-era wrestling fans, his delivery reminds me a lot of when Shane McMahon did color commentary on Sunday Night Heat. We're just missing some "YEAH YEAH BOOYAH YEAH!" calls. All that being said, I feel empathy for Schriffen, much in the way that I felt bad when a classmate/co-worker was nice but too earnest/peppy and gradually annoyed everyone around them.1 point

Also they expanded the playoffs that one-off year. They don’t get in without expanded playoffs.1 point

Did everyone see that article in the Sun Times a couple weeks ago on how the White Sox had bullpen pieces on their roster in ST that they let go and those guys have had pretty consistent success this year with other teams?1 point
-
And now he says he's waiting. Isn't that a good thing?1 point

I 100% believe that they thought adding veteran leadership would get them going in the right direction. They spent what $20 million+ on the concept? They probably realized they had a ways to go but no way they spend that much money if they think they’ll be worse. I am not sure if it was “domestic abuse enthusiast” Getz’s idea that he sold to Reinsdorf, or Reinsdorf wanted that and Getz told him it was a great idea.1 point

I'm cheering for the kids more than the uniform. They're fighting for their professional lives and their dream. It makes me sick to watch people gloat when they fail.1 point

This is fucking disgusting. Tyreek Hill arrest yesterday... those cops need to be fired. Don't need s%*# cops like them on the streets1 point
