  1. Whining and bitching about whining and bitching is still whining and bitching.

  2. Why do you hold water for a front office that has put together the worst team of all time? They are already 26 losses above your preseason projection with 6 to play. So even sucking that is taking a team you expect to win 90 games and having them lose 100. CHRIS GETZ SUCKS.

  3. The comments to the new social media posts, on x, have been almost universally positive. The social media users have reacted positively to the social media posts, even while acknowledging the fact that the team is historically awful. How is that a bad thing?

  4. This article…contains no offseason preview?

  5. It's getting to the end of the season. The person wants a long break and trying to get fired to collect unemployment. Instead becomes a minor celebrity and now has to work harder. It's practically a Seinfeld episode.

  6. Why would you want to tarnish his name by forever affixing it to the 2024 Sox team? Wasn't he experiencing back problems weeks ago? Of it's only to sit on the bench and observe and be inspired to fight for the starting role in 2025...but they would still be short circuiting his development by a half season in the minors.

  7. Intriguing enough stats. I’d rather roll the dice on him than pay $5M for some shitty vet reliever.

  9. This is actually the most bat s%*# crazy sentence ever written on this board. Like, you shouldn't be a sports fan if you're thinking this way, because you're wishing for other teams to fail so yours can succeed.

  11. I'm surprised at the number of "old man yelling at cloud" responses to this. Why not poke fun at this terrible season? I find it pretty funny. It will be interesting to see what the post when (if) the Sox win a game.

  12. A sense of humor is not laughing at other people's misery or wishing more misery on them because you feel they hurt you. It's actually spite or maliciousness. Just thought I'd clarify that for you. The emotion is closer to serial killer than comedian.

  13. . . Between the two periods, there is blank space. A vast nothingness. That's your offseason preview.

  14. Bummer was bad with the Sox. His specialty was coming in as a lefty and walking the first hitter (typically a lefty). That said, he had trade value, because his peripherals were really good usually. Should we have expected a king’s ransom for him? No. Should we have gotten more for him? Yes.

  15. Wow. Deep pull, but no. You're thinking of the Big Ragu. He was like Fonzie as an actor/singer/dancer.

  17. I mean, you could make the case that they traded for "dibs" on these guys, I suppose. But yes - they could have picked up guys like Lopez and Soroka, probably for less money than they ultimately paid.

  22. Look, a LOT of team lost 100 games before. Literally none of them ever came back the next year and lost 120 games, EVER IN THE HISTORY OF BASEBALL. This is not a who could have done better situation. This has Literally never been done before. It's failure on a historical level.

  23. Personally, the all time record for losses in a season matters to me. I also think it matters to 99.99% of White Sox fans. Maybe not you, but you haven't made sense in quite a while. Kudos to you for listening to your idol and embracing the worst record of all time.

  24. That's crazy. Listen to Schriffen. The starting rotation is stacked. The bullpen is fixed. Sosa, Vargas and Ramos are future stars. Benintendi and Vaughn have it figured out. La Pantera is sure to bounce back. Fletcher has earned RF. Korey Lee is another future star. If Montgomery can play replacement level, the playoffs should be a lock.

  26. Goals for 2025 "The White Sox might be the only team in baseball that should be satisfied with finishing last overall next season. This is an organization that needs to follow the lead of teams such as the Orioles and Astros, who fell to the cellar for multiple years before using their draft picks to build a sustainable contender. Still, there are other ways for Chicago to measure success. Even though the team will have a losing record, it should strive to be much more competitive in 2025. It’s time to put an end to memorable losing streaks, and for the sake of the younger players, this team needs to develop a competitive mindset next year. Beyond the scoreboard, 2025 success in Chicago will be measured by the improvement of the organization’s younger players. Position players such as Vargas, Robert and Vaughn need to take a step forward or bounce back. Crochet, assuming he stays with the organization, must continue to establish himself as a workhorse. Young pitchers such as Cannon, Thorpe and Ky Bush need to make progress toward being trusted rotation members. And hopefully, some of the minor leaguers mentioned above can give White Sox fans a glimpse of a brighter future." Not really anything new. Hard to consider Bush a top rotation candidate...Burke would definitely be the rising star possibility after his two starts. Crochet and Robert 90% of focus. And the usual MiLB suspects like Schultz Smith Montgomery Quero. Astros/Orioles comps completely useless if they can't enjoy consistent run of Top 1-5 first rounders over 3-4 years of bottoming out. Stupid Yahoo Sports keeps changing their headlines and then there are numerous others like Bell firing in Cincy under the same link.

  27. I would have hated to see what happened if we went through an actual GM search which would've caused us to take even longer to get this done. We probably wouldn't have hired an international ops guy until 2028 at the earliest.

  28. You have two options. 1) Hope they get lucky and something works out until they have new ownership or 2) Be mad about everything because they have no idea what they are doing until they have new ownership. I'm going with 1 because it's sports and also something I have zero control over.

  31. Then you have to consider the cost of living in Chicago, it should be a $60-75,000 position but they're relying on twenty-somethings to have their parents subsidize salaries and all those kids to remain living at home indefinitely in order to save money.

  34. I believe when Detroit had the chance to own the record, the Twins and Royals lost the final two series to them and allowed them to avoid infamy. So I’m sure the AL Central favor will be returned 😂

  36. For example, treated Benetti more like he would a typical White Sox fan, rather than privileged "insiders" like KW, Hahn and Boyer. Basically, Jason was too "blue collar" in his behavior and not a true BLUE blood. An other, to him personally. Despite the fact he grew up a dyed in the wool White Sox lifer. His effort at putting him in his place or not letting Benetti get too big for his britches backfired spectacularly.

  37. Could help prevent that one win, but the fact that White Sox games effectively end offensively after seven innings and completely disintegrate when leading is a clear indication that this is the worst MLB roster of all time. 0-94 when trailing after 7 and 0-68 after 6 actually might be a more impressively futile stat than 120 losses and that’s saying something.

  38. Detroit has snuck into a wild card spot 1 game ahead of the Twins, so the odds of them needing every win and treating the last series like playoff games are high.

  39. There’s this weird combination of treating his inner circle well and treating everyone else like peons in him that makes me extra ill about him. He could treat his staff better, he could show his customers more respect.

  44. Why is everyone only sacking up now when the team is historically bad? Why didn’t these guys speak up years ago? Exactly how feared is JR that these guys kept their mouths shut so long?
