How we can consider someone with those numbers as trash is hilarious. The guy would be, by far, the best offensive player on this team. I can accept average as a description, but not trash.5 points

People should enjoy watching sports however they want.4 points

So basically our shitty players are still shitty elsewhere4 points

To borrow one of JR's lines, I wish Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall were alive to see this.4 points

This is just incredibly sad. The whole structure of major sports and how much deference individual owners get to torch an entire market like this is so silly to me. This is bad for major league baseball, but every owner will just avert their eyes and is cheerily happy that they can still ruthlessly leverage a communities passion for a team for their benefit. Great job mlb, once again showing contempt for the dwindling population that still supports you.4 points

Fans booing when we won was fun. Pretty sad I have to watch at least another inning of this s%*# tomorrow to see them get the record.3 points

I honestly hope they win tonight. I'll be at tomorrow's game and I'd like to see the record in person.3 points

Paying a guy a minimum salary for zero WAR was actually one of the most productive contracts the Sox had this year.3 points

Intriguing enough stats. I’d rather roll the dice on him than pay $5M for some shitty vet reliever.3 points

Don’t act offended by a White Sox fan existing on a White Sox website. White Sox fans aren’t cheering for a loss.2 points

Sox fans cheering like crazy for the team to lose, and this bozo says the Sox fans are “showing the love”2 points

Ceylon Apple Maker for me. My better half and I peeled and cored a half bushel of Jonagold and a half bushel of Golden Delicious apples de udder day, ran 'em through the juicer and wound up with three gallons of cider with lots of delicious pulp. So you take and pour some Maker's Mark in a mason jar, pour in some pulpy cider and top it off with some ceylon cinnamon. Serve with a chopstick to keep it stirred up for every sip cuz the pulp settles and the cinnamon don't mix in very well but it tastes fantastic. Ceylon Apple Maker I love the fall.2 points

It’s entertainment. People should always enjoy it or find some other form of entertainment.2 points

Even if they lose tonight, if they lose tomorrow, they will set a new record.2 points

5 of the players in the potentially history making game were acquired by Getz, 4 via trade. This is his bed.2 points

This is a heck of a characterization for a franchise that has been trashed by fans, players, management, and national media alike for being the worst run organization in baseball complete with factional battles allowed to simmer for years, not offering anywhere near enough support to its employees, as well as a complete refusal to advance into the 21st century technologically. It's an organization that has been recently sued for discrimination as well. If that isn't toxic, I don't understand the way you are using the word.2 points

Don’t pretend this is by chance. This is the result of the bad coaching and bad training techniques when applied to the modern game.2 points

He was hitting 97-98 MPH , and got K's with 4 pitches, 4 seam FB, slider, CU, and curve. Didn't seem to throw as many curves as he did his 1st start.Leaned on 4 seam up in the zone and slider and both were crisp but also got a couple K's on the CU and curve. Very impressive and well see more of him in the the upcoming AFL league since he's coming back from injuries.2 points

The jury is still out on Kopech and Robert with other organizations. They're still in the prime of their careers age-wise. Giolito wasn't a failure...he just broke down and still has a shot to return. He was already a mess mechanically when they first acquired him before recording two close to dominant seasons. Rodon has righted the ship in NY....although has to be considered a slight disappointment. Burger is nearing a 30 homer season. Anderson Moncada Eloy Madrigal Vaughn have to be considered the biggest mysteries when all is said and done.1 point

Vaughn also started off putrid. He's probably a 1 WAR player when all is said and done. I'm just not as mad you guys. Every single bad thing that could have happened to this franchise actually happened. It's extraordinary. As trash as this organization is, it's crazy that Cease and Lopez were the only parts that actually worked out. Gio, Robert, Moncada, Eloy, Kopech and several other all turned into trash.1 point

Wow. Deep pull, but no. You're thinking of the Big Ragu. He was like Fonzie as an actor/singer/dancer.1 point

Let this be a lesson to Getz. You can sometimes claim relievers that are just as good or perhaps better than the bums you throw too much money at in the offseason.1 point

He’ll absolutely break camp with the team. It will be him and Lee as the two catchers.1 point

I’m thinking he won’t actually be added to the active roster. He’ll just be around for the “big league experience”, which is a funny thing to say at this point. Kind of pointless to have him play 4 games at most.1 point

Those '88 O's, who were already on their second manager before the streak was even half over, ended the streak with a 9-0 win against ... the White Sox. They then dropped to next two games in that series. From 0-21 they went on to go 54 - 86 (.388) to finish at 54 - 107 (.335) https://phpbb3.ultimatemets.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=33629 Mets' fan board following Sox as they close in on 1962 Mets The Mets are the reverse 72 miami dolphins ready to pop that champagne and relieve themselves of this shame 😂1 point

I feel like it’s all gonna start coming out now. The stuff between Herm and the strength coach is interesting and, if still happening, confirms suspicions that the training staff is poorly executed and the reason for all these bullshit soft tissue injuries.1 point

The As have moved about three or four times. I wonder if anyone has tracked how those moves affected the rest of the league? Another consideration. Would Illinois and the city have more political capital to spend on a new stadium for a post Sox move expansion franchise? Wouldn't that be a kick in JRs balls? He moves and the state builds a new stadium for the new team. I almost like that scenario. I prefer the JR sells and immediately after the deal closes a new stadium is announced scenario.1 point

Pretty in depth breakdown of Schultz' arsenal. I love nerdy pitching stuff, so it's cool to hear him talking about seam shifted wake and spin efficiency. I hope Bannister stays with the org for a long, long time.1 point
