  1. Yes it's worse to set a record over 99.99% different teams managed to avoid than to simply miss the playoffs.

  3. Admittedly I haven’t even read the article yet but…there’s no way this fucking guy is that tone deaf right? The fucking owner said they didn’t go through an actual search or interview process to lead a multi-billion dollar organization because they didn’t want to waste any time. The guy that was gifted a GM job that he is completely underqualified for and seemingly incompetent at performing was previously in charge of the development system that has completely failed with almost every top prospect. Not they want “patience”? Go f*** yourself Chris.

  4. Now the real question is where are they going to set the new bar at. Congrats to the entire organization - you ass clowns deserve it and we as fans are absolutely stuck with it. Hope this is the final straw to drive real changes.

  5. This level of failure is significant because of the estimated climb back to a competitive team. Come on now, it matters and you know it

  6. See, this is the s%*# that gets me. Everyone here is a fan of this team. We wouldn't be here otherwise. The difference is that you'd rather watch them continue down this road because you think everyone is hunky fucking dory.

  7. Seriously, just sell the fucking team already Jerry…

  8. Imagine believing that it doesn't matter that your team just lost the most games in MLB history, because missing the playoffs is all the same. Come on.

  9. They most certainly are not the same. Lol

  10. Wooo! Congrats Jerry. You did it!

  11. Honestly doesn't appear like there were many "good" guys in the clubhouse at all. Bunch of shitty people and shitty baseball players. Great combination Rick Hahn and KW assembled there.

  12. Nope, sorry. You were given a GM job that you weren’t qualified for based on the fact that you “knew the team and the organization” and could execute a quick turnaround. Since you took over as GM, the majority of your baseball transactions have been absolutely putrid. Go fvck yourself, Chris.

  13. No. Why? Lol. I wouldn't want you to leave, either. This team being God awful will do enough for that.

  14. The more I think about it, the more I think we have to lock Crochet up. He's a beast with insane peripherals and has already had TJ. We'll never get fair value in the trade market. The trade market is dead. He wants to be here. It does wonders for optics and helps the Sox identity. If there's one thing the franchise does really well, it's developing pitching, and Crochet is a monumental success. Pay the guy, promote it and let's use it to our advantage.

  15. Nobody feels good about this season. We are laughing at the absurdity and continued malpractice of the front office, don’t get it twisted that everyone here isn’t as good as a fan as you are

  16. We are definitely in the Bad Place. Gimme that alternate timeline where TLR never happened and Hinch guides this team to multiple AL Central titles and many deep playoff runs…

  18. Setting this record is probably the best thing that could have happened to this team. Perhaps JR will die of embarrassment, and they can move on towards making this an actual Major League baseball team.

  19. Never in the history of human endeavor have so many been so embarrassed by so few.

  20. Instructions unclear, only Moncada has been held accountable

  21. As of right now I’m not remotely convinced that Thorpe is a starter. Thorpe was not a guy who could be a successful starter with what I saw this year. He might come back stronger next year or add a pitch or something like that, but not the guy I’ve seen so far. I will give you Smith and Noah as potentially solid starters if they avoid the surgery

  22. “Check out this hang-time! Yeah Ha Ha Buddyyyy!!!” Plz retire, Schriffen.

  24. 17.1 IP, 2 BB, 29 K in the month of September. I think that’s a pretty strong finish lol. I’m just happy his arm didn’t fall off like everyone was expecting.

  25. Yes. It’s absolutely f’ing disgusting. The guy is DFA material and he has pretty much played a full season. .660 OPS for a “lefty slugging” 1B/RF. Embarrassing. Getz is a turd. 💩
    3 points
  26. Now we all see what happens when the Sox face a major league team (e.g., not the Angels). The Sox still suck.

  27. everything Schriffen says comes off so prepared and fake

  28. I mean, yeah. Chant "sell the team" and all of that until the cows come home. But actively rooting against the players having a walk off was pretty stupid.

  29. This fucking guy has a life time contract with the team.

  32. Seriously, F this guy after his trade deadline antics. Trade him.

  33. I don't think Vaughn is going anywhere. They love his makeup and work ethic. They think he can be a team leader.

  34. People here can't possibly have forgotten Luis swinging with one fucking arm right? The incompetence in this medical staff is borderline criminal.

  35. I am beginning to wonder if the amount of leg injuries, and then playing on them, has actually nuked guys like Robert, TA, and Eloy.

  36. It has been fun to watch the wheel of blame spin these last two seasons, yet never arrive at the right place. Remember when Yas Grandal was the problem?

  37. This. I absolutely think there is an element to him not giving 100% this year and being checked out in far too many PA's, but based on everything we know about the internals with the Sox, he simply hasn't been developed and coached properly, which plays a huge role in this. Baseball has always been in a chess match between pitchers and hitters. Scouting reports evolve, pitchers change their approach to certain hitters, and the hitters then need to adjust, and round and round it goes. That requires a dedicated staff to help players make those adjustments, and I don't believe that's happening at a respectable level.
    2 points
  38. The White Sox broke him. They have absolutely no idea how to coach hitting, and it shows up and down the lineups, throughout the organization. He will go elsewhere, and be a perennial all-star.
    2 points
  39. 1, 3, 4. He was never going to be an OBP dude and I feel like Thames fucking with his approach really hurt him. You can listen to him during interviews saying he's thinking about the strike zone too much. yeah the league adjusted to him, that's gonna happen, but trying to get him to take more walks is fucking stupid. if you want a power/OBP guy, you don't get them from Latin America

  41. We are not even 3 years removed from a failed rebuild, of which the current GM was a core front office member of and TLR and JR are still running ship, and people want to act like we can bank on a future of Schultz, Smith, Colson, Quero, Baldwin, Sosa, Ramos. Look, I've been way more active on the Future Sox board than a lot of you for years. It's why I got here. I prospect hug like no other, wrote for Future Sox (though nothing in comparison to @Y2Jimmy0 and co. right now). In 2018, GMs would have killed to get a package of Moncada, Kopech and Benintendi. Remember this? 10 guys in the top 70. They also had TA, Abreu and Rodon. Absolutely fucking suplexes the current situation if we're going off of projection alone. Except the guy in charge of building depth for that rebuild is now in charge of trades, which have so far been lacking.

  42. Excuse me sir but I have put deposits down on the next 10 years of season tickets because of this streak

  43. I'm sorry, who are these top positional prospects we're getting based on Getz's track record for trades?
    2 points
  44. He was cheap and ate innings. And under control for 2 years. I don’t think it’s a failed signing at all. Much better signing than Clevinger, who never really ate innings in his career.
