  1. $6M for Vaughn or $5M for Lopez would be a travesty.

  4. JR is 88 and drooling. Sports and Sports Channels are dumb. Lets get sarcastic.

  5. I was watching a show with Adam Amin and he asked of the 3 teams in the network who is closest to a championship. The guy said the Bulls, and thought their roster was stacked. The woman said she was going to say the Bulls but she will go with the White Sox, the team that just lost more game than any other team this and last century, saying they were a lot closer than people think. JR probably has already given them extensions.

  8. Dylan Cease, ReyLo, Aaron Bummer. I’d even argue Tatis getting out was a major win. There’s quite a few former Sox in the postseason this year. Weird.

  9. He hit .201 overall with the Dodgers. In almost 500 plate appearances now, he's hitting .175. I think he is better than what he hit after he was traded, but no where near the middle of the order bat Getz was projecting.

  11. I don't think Grady did anything wrong per se, but logic would tell you he has about as much chance as any of us at landing that job. He gets it, and it's the same old, same old, and no matter who is manager, have a great chance at over 100 loses next year.

  15. If you go back to their previous announcements, they said they would be up and running on multiple platforms. Their website would be fully functional well before they were ready to broadcast. They were full of it. But as fans of these teams, we should be used to it.

  16. It's beyond amazing. Then they try the elder abuse thing, yet somehow the man is lucid enough to go to Springfield to ask for a billion plus, and say, hey, this team is worth more elsewhere, I'm just trying to do the state a favor before his son will be forced to sell it to someone who will move them.

  19. “Second baseman Lenyn Sosa, who homered and drove in three Sunday, had the second-highest batting average among AL qualifiers in September. Rookie right-handed starter Jonathan Cannon, who picked up Sunday’s victory, proved himself as a steady rotation piece. Rookie third baseman Bryan Ramos, who also became a U.S. citizen in ‘24, had two hits and two RBIs, as a few examples.” Scott Merkin mlb.com

  20. What Tray said and then some. For so long this organization had been on auto pilot, and it floundered. It used to be that the team had some talent even when it didn't go to playoffs. It reached the point where the club had next to nothing. The 2010s was the first decade since the Seventies when the Sox didn't go to the post season at least once. And back in the Seventies, there were no such things as wild cards. A team had to win their division, and had to be a solid team, not some 80-win anybody. Finally, in the Seventies, the ownership had no money and were lucky to put a team on the field. Getz apologists say he is trying to rebuild the organization's infrastructure. Maybe he is. But there's no excuse for putting a minor league team on the field. I don't expect the Sox to go to the post season any year soon. But they should at least put a credible team on the field. How about 75 wins? The organization has sunk to new depths. Empty promises won't win anyone over. Schriffen certainly won't win anyone over with his totally unbelievable BS. Stone Poney can take a hike, too.

  22. Sizemore is going to interview just like everyone else. If he comes out of it as the best candidate, great. Like I said I just hope they hire a strong staff to help him thru some of his decision making struggles.

  29. Lol. I spent three minutes on their new "website", and I've already found 4-5 errors. Don't get too excited. They went from something a high school kid in web design could create in a single class, to something that student created overnight for homework.... (yes, I have web design experience) They can't even proofread or QA before launching. The very first section of their FAQ says: "We recommend you visit this website for guidance on selecting and installing an antenna and scanning for channels." They forget the actual website/link. That high school student's grade just dropped to a B. Their OTA channel list isn't even up to date: Chicago, IL: WJYS, 62.2 and 62.3 Rockford, IL: (Coming soon) South Bend, IN: (Coming soon) Milwaukee, WI: (Coming soon) Grand Rapids, MI: (Coming soon) Des Moines, IA: (Coming soon) Champaign/Springfield, IL: (Coming soon) Paducah, KY: (Coming soon) Cedar Rapids/Davenport, IA: (Coming soon) Peoria, IL: WHOI, (Coming soon) Sioux City, IA: KMEG, (Coming soon) Quincy, IL: WTJR, (Coming soon) Indianapolis, IN: (Coming Soon) Gray Television’s CBS affiliate WSLN (Ch. 23) in Rockford and NBC affiliate WNDU (Ch. 16) in South Bend, Ind. were announced two weeks ago, and no mention on their "website". Now that student's grade is a C. I'll just stop there, as it's more than enough to prove my point. As I said, amateur hour bullshit.

  30. You mean to tell me that a website with a url of "https://www.247footballnow.com" is not completely and totally legitimate? GASP?! What has the world come to...

  31. Personally I think a working website on day 1 of a sports television station in the 3rd largest market is something that shouldn’t be half assed. And to add to that point, having agreements with cable carriers is a right there with it. i know some have accepted the failures and mediocrity of this man, but I don’t

  32. It's just straight up amateur hour bullshit. Which is exactly what most logical people expected from a Reinsdorf run broadcast network. It speaks to the disaster this has been and will continue to be.

  36. The Sox Board long ago ceded all decision making to their Chairman without oversight. While the Sox Board were sleeping, Jerry was prolonging a dysfunctional relationship with Ken Williams and Rick Hahn who, near the end of their tenures, were almost begging to be fired. And by the way, what was/were the precipitating cause(es) of their dismissal without notice? Possibly a recording of a little chit chat they had amongst themselves mocking Jerry? You don't get shown the door by Jerry unless they showed some real contempt or possibly were caught in some impropriety. Anyway, those two hangers on played the Reinsdorfs and the Sox Board, bleeding the organization for every dime they could get out of them....money that the team now could better use to hire more competent trustworthy management. I welcomed their dismissal but hoped JR would have taken the time to hire a dynamic GM, someone who possessed some of the qualities of a Dave Dumbrowski or Theo Epstein ....a GM committed to do what it would take, including making bold trades and FA signings to turn this team around. Instead they hire a young man who reminds me of another .. well never mind. This young GM warns that rebuilding will take a long time so you know, he has some self created job security during that prolonged process. And Getz suggests that there will not be any major FA signings as the Sox continue to "develop" players - most of whom will never become mlb players let alone difference makers. This entire organization needs to be blown up from top to bottom. Whether that gets done with a major reorganization and retirement of JR or a sale to a Mark Cuban type, I would have some hope for the Sox moving forward. "The Letter"? Not enough, not nearly enough.

  39. It's a next level poverty franchise move and any GM that can't convince their owner how asinine it is to attach Benintendi's mid-sized contract to Crochet is not worth their salt.

  40. If he hits .150 and is out of options, he will get DFA after 3 months. If he can hit .220, maybe they stick with him a few years. Such an unbelievably bad trade. Jeral Perez better be a 7-time all star.

  43. Let me get this straight. Back in the day, JR's supposed reservation against Hinch sas the trashcan scandal. Now the architect of the whole thing is a candidate?

  44. That only works if he can also hit as well. Otherwise he’s a taller Eddie Gaedel. .151 AVG and .509 OPS Vargas is awful.
