  1. Some questions have no right answers.

  2. I’ll bite this one - I have found everyone from that trade super unimpressive and at this point am hopeful there might be one decent reliever out of the Cease trade. If that’s the kind of return you get by going with quantity, don’t do that again.

  4. More realistic is you'd take 3-4 pitching prospects over one can't miss one. And no, i'd take the can't miss one.

  5. Considering the teams current situation, I’d trade 2 years Crochet for 6 years of him in a heartbeat.

  6. You can get a TV antenna to either roof mount or attic mount if those options are available for you. There is a web site that will provide the heading in degrees for the CSHN channels 62.02 and 62.03 from your home. Then use your phone's compass app to to point the antenna accordingly. Previously, my house had existing RG-6 cable to a few TV locations in the home for cable boxes. Once I started streaming I repurposed the cable for antenna and tied therm together with a splitter then to the antenna in the attic. Then get your OLED.

  7. Luis was signed, and Eloy was in A ball. That deal also netted Cease, who became one of the top pitchers in baseball. Those trades were actually fine, they netted starters. The problem was just laziness. The concept of trading for good prospects is not unsound because of the last rebuild.

  9. I don’t want to watch Getz and his scouting wizardry acquire a handful of Samuel Zavala’s. I’ll take the highly touted guy over lesser prospects/players that Getz would no doubt choose.

  10. AFL got underway tonight, and Glendale plays their first game tomorrow. Barons' championship squad is well represented. Montgomery and Pallette are looking to carry their momentum from the end of the season into potential roles for next year. Gladney, AHT, Dalquist, and Adler will be trying to make cases for Rule 5 protection. Taylor needs innings, Elko needs to show consistency against higher level pitching, and Turner probably caps out as an org C, but one you trust to work with young pitchers so it doesn't hurt to get him more reps. Elsewhere, a handful of Sox should be getting reps in winter ball as well. Lenyn Sosa is probably the most notable of the bunch after his very strong finish to the season. Anyway, I'm a sicko who already misses Sox baseball for some dumb reason so I'll post highlights and stuff in here.

  11. People on that retro game life. Tube tvs for life. Hmm. I have one of those shitty Samsung "smart" remotes that doesn't have a number pad. Smart tv with a dumb ass remote. I'll have to see if there is a way to still manually add a channel instead of trying to scan for it. Though usually if it's something that has a good enough signal, scanning picks it up.

  12. It's going to annoy me to no end that the main twitter account went with @CHSN__ as it's handle when @CHSN is available. Edit: Lol, it has to be two underscores because otherwise it goes to some kid's profile who hasn't posted since 2016. That's next level.

  13. Unless you count Burger as "good." That one will be hotly debated. It's a pretty sad indictment of the system when Sheets is arguably the next noteworthy draftee after the list of first rounders from above. All of them, though, other than Anderson, with limited athleticism and dynamic impact tools in terms of affecting the game defensively or pressuring pitchers on the base paths.

  17. It's way too early to give up on Zavala. He struggled last year in A+, but showed elite pitch recognition as a 20 year old in a tough league. That's after he put up a 140 wRC+ as a 19 year old in A ball. I'd also be shocked if Thorpe doesn't have a long, productive career as a starter.

  22. Agreed, that certainly applies to players the White Sox have drafted themselves as well, like Vaughn. If they had developed a few more of their own draft picks then we wouldn't be desperately trying to get everyone else's prospects. I struggle to think of the last position player who the Sox drafted themselves who has developed into a good MLB player (with the Sox).

  23. You just made an unintentional argument for acquiring Holliday. Our coaching and development staff has not had a chance to besmirch him.

  24. By that logic you would never trade for any prospect as there is always a risk in any player development from minors to MLB. Any trade for a prospect is a risk, sadly with Eloy and Moncada the White Sox have been stung twice with prospects who really should have been can't miss or at least much better than they ended up being.

  25. I don't think Sosa qualifies as a debut player. His debut was in 2022. I think that's what the OP meant by debut players. This years new guys.

  29. Oh no Caulfield you read this wrong. I appreciate your posts but KC is going crazy. The atmosphere will be different from all other playoff games so far. Yankee Stadium was a morgue last night. KC is going nuts. It'll both be sold out with maniacal noise. No way the Yankees will have many fans making noise there. Hell they were dead in NY for the games. NYY is finished. They need Rizzo badly. That one guy can't even run, I think it's Cabrera. Soto is doing better than Judge but Judge is doing no damage and looks lost. The hack NY is starting in Game 3 will be rocked. The Sox should be ashamed. Watching the last two games I saw a LOT of bad baseball hitters and pitchers. Baseball is in trouble with this kind of talent. KC goes from 106 losses to possible AL champs. Wow. Get it together White Sox. p.s. Pham is hitterish right now.

  31. That’s business as usual for the White Sox. Instead of getting one or two great players, split it up and go for mediocrity. Holliday is obviously not on the block. But not wanting him due to some MLB ABs as a 20 year old, he’s younger than Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith, is crazy.

  32. I know you’re being a sarcastic asshole but my solution was to acquire several high upside prospects instead of one “can’t miss young guy.” As stated earlier in the thread, I’d prefer a package of Crawford, Caba, Saltiban, and DeMartini over Holliday alone.

  36. Moncada has been healthy in only 3 of the 9 years he's been in MLB. When he's healthy, he's a stud. When projecting Holliday, it's assuming he stays healthy.

  37. A year or two ago? Sure. But today Jerry won't acknowledge fans after literally the worst season in baseball history, I don't really feel the need to acknowledge his organization.

  41. Can you do a thorough interview of a managerial candidate, when he’s coaching his team in the playoffs? I’m really not interested in the Sox hiring the bench coach of the Reds. The guy for the Dodgers sounded pretty good to me. Hope they give him a long look which may require the playoffs to be over.

  42. I gotta believe they will stream this with some services...right? I mean we are all Sox-centric here but no way the Bulls/Blackhawks are going to go for no streaming (I know the White Sox/Bulls are the same)...no reason the Bulls wouldn't attract eyeballs! How accessible are the OTA channels in Chicagoland? How far do those signals reach?

  46. I have the Sox as my regional sports team with my Direct TV, Marquee is also part of the package. If I can get the Sox free on antenna, then I will drop regional sports package. It doesn't sit well with me that Ricketts is getting my money. Interesting article in the Tribune Chicago Sports Network to launch Oct. 1 on DirecTV and free TV (chicagotribune.com) (sorry pay wall ) PK Wrigley built the Cubs fanbase on free tv, the Sox are targeting the 15% of people that will never pay for tv
