  4. A slightly better version of Chris Flexen....this off season is going to be fun. Your 2025 Chicago White Sox....a slightly better version.

  6. Like, it was a thing did in ONE off-season. People have hobbies. Baseball guys have f*** you money. He probably had someone write the music and that video did not look like something that took anything more than a day or two max to shoot.

  7. Only if he can stay healthy and start hitting the ball in the air more. Someone will take a chance on him I guess but I wouldn't expect much given his track record.

  8. That may be a good idea considering Getz seems to mostly go after terrible players.

  9. Should I drop by and give Getz a summary of what Soxtalk knows he should do?

  11. I hope they addressed not only Tyrique Stevenson's hail mary problem but also being a guy who tries to poke people through their mask. He got what he deserved. It's just sad it was at the Bears expense. That poking people through the mask s%*# should have been shut down the first time it happened. I know its been at least 2 times now he did that. I was onboard with giving Eberflus this year but now I am good with moving on.

  12. My goodness. Some crazy takes in here about what a new manager says and judging how much effort someone gives. You called it loligagging but not everyone sees through your eyes. I see it as a series of mental errorss. He clearly misjudged how much time he had. He took his eye off the runner going to 1st base and kept his eye on another runner. He also could've tagged the runner going to 1st. For the less talented or rookies we often hear about how things move much faster at higher levels which require you to speed up your thought proceseses, increase your preparedness, train harder, eat better, sleep better. It's not enough, you just can't do the right thing often often mentally or physically to get to that level. You could make a massively long lowlites reel of bad play for every team in baseball. Did Judge want to screw up a routine fly ball in the biggest baseball stage in one of the most important days of his life ? That whole inning was a s%*# show. There are mental and physical errors, concentration lapses, plays that you make while doing things wrong, and errors you make while doing things right. They play through pain that slows them down , they may have a sick family member. Yet fans get on here and think they see lack of effort through body language. When you lack talent you look bad against the more talented .It weighs on you, it brings you down . Sometimes the less talented win because they are all better than 99 % of all players wordwide so even the Sox can beat teams far more talented on ocassion especially in a sport where pitching can dominate and make you look bad.

  13. You joke, but I'm certain the phpBB crowd is more qualified to run a professional sports team than most front offices.

  14. Would make some sense as a veteran starter but I doubt the Sox want to pay him $5.5 million.

  15. At one time, the Sox had a talented group of young players consisting of Robert, Eloy, Cease, Kopech, and Moncada. Four are no longer with the team, and in reality, only one lived up to expectations. I wonder if the FO ever asked itself what happened. But don't worry. Another 100-loss season is on the way. Perhaps two.

  16. Now, now. Let's not be reasonable here.

  17. Shocking really. 3 years ago, if someone said there was a decent chance Eloy and TA would be done by the end of 2024, even the biggest pessimists would have laughed.

  19. Kind of scary to think that Eloy could also just be done.

  22. I suspect that Venable agreed to a long term rebuild plan similar to Getz' concept of a rebuild plan, i.e., exploring all low cost in-house options for talent, "developing" those players for a few years and meanwhile, abstaining from spending on free agents.

  26. I like him because he has to be legit a psycopath to pick this team over other options. He's probably already invited ozzie and AJ over for a slap fight.

  27. I disagree with Sosa, In 1990 he was the only player in baseball to have double figures in the following categories: doubles, triples, home runs, stolen bases and outfield assists. He started 1991 off well as well before he and Walt Hriniak, much like Cory Snyder, simply disagreed on the approach to hitting. He took it personally and fell into a funk. Not saying Hriniak was wrong but maybe if he gave a little bit Sosa would have responded better.

  28. Eh, I think it goes both ways. Yeah Cole should've ran over but in my opinion Rizzo also should have charged the baseball instead of letting it come to him...it was a slow enough roller to do that, and then his momentum would have carried him to first making it a close play. Both players should have been aggressive, at the very least one of them, but both were passive, and it was costly.

  29. That play will haunt Cole for the rest of his life. Get your dumbass over there.

  31. More important than having a top notch analytics group is having structures that implement the findings. There are 1000s of great baseball analysts out there who can do great work. There are still differences in quality of analytics but the key point is how it is implemented in scouting and coaching. What makes the really good orgs good is not that they are super cutting edge but that they are very good in communicating and implementing it across the whole Organisation. I read some posts by drivelines Kyle boddy a couple years ago where he claimed in some orgs reports by the analytics department are put into the bin without being read. Or slightly better but still bad others where the reports are being read and then guy reading it says "cool, that's interesting, now what should I do with it?" What will make or break the sox is not hiring a couple smart guys but having leadership implementing structures that forces everyone to actually implement the stuff. The sox did hire some smart guys in the past like for example Ryan Johansen who is a biomechanics expert but it clearly wasn't implemented as many of the sox hitters had a groundball, opposite field focused approach with a lot of chase. When the sox want to do it better this time they need to create better implementation structures and remove structures where old school coaches are laughing off analytics and just continue their way

  32. I see the same old Kopech that can get away by being on a much better team. He has control issues. The last 2 weeks the manager might have 70% confidence as him being a closer. If he wants to be a starter for the Dodgers he has to cut down on balls.

  33. I don't really understand latin music, Moncada or that guy from the Mets but I know it's boring and annoying just like them as players. Partying to garbage that sounds like Celine Dion except with a hispanic guy singing it sounds like me partying to Celine Dion batting the last few years, who was more valuable as a player by just not being on the White Sox roster. What's Selena's OPS? Who gives a f*** about these guys? What he'll put up an prospected average of a 2.0 WAR if he played150 games which he won't play because he'd rather put together a fucking boy band. I hope he signs in New York with that other idiot so they can sing their way to 78 wins while the White Sox hate fun and win 50.
