  1. Absolutely bonkers to think that the Sox could be the most improved team in MLB next year by 21 games and still be a 100-loss team and likely finish as the worst team in baseball.

  2. I was coached well in creative writing classes.Plus my daddy taught me how to recognize BS. Caulfield is a nice man who takes way more abuse than he should. I don't like people whose sense of humor revolves around making fun of others. It's wolfpack bullying garbage. The one time I got suspended on here was sticking up for a guy I thought was being picked on . Which was ironic being suspended because I felt compelled to agressively defend someone who was being aggressively maligned which is allowed but being an aggressive good Samaritan was not allowed.

  3. Like with the White Sox and Bulls NOTHING changes until ownership does, period. The Bears did everything they could to try to help Williams, except of course the most important thing for a young quarterback, a good offensive line. They are an absolute joke. They'll beat New England then get hammered by the rest of their schedule. They may win two more games, maybe. Then Eberflus will get fired in the off season and another worthless stiff will be brought in. This off season the Bears need to go out and sign the top three free agent lineman regardless of what that costs.

  4. A slightly better version of Chris Flexen....this off season is going to be fun. Your 2025 Chicago White Sox....a slightly better version.

  6. But just think if they actually make the playoffs eventually...? (Everyone's already expecting you to be the worst team in baseball for the next year or two, and you're not adding significantly via Free Agency...) All the credit will likely go to that manager and GM, so you essentially have nothing to lose (except for time, opportunity cost) and the Marlins job is far from a sure thing with the Braves and Phillies in that division, and even Washington on the rise now. Assuming Venable couldn't get any assurances in Texas that he was going to eventually take over for Bruce Bochy, and when that handover was actually going to take place...a World Series team (well, one year removed) is just as likely to go after a more experienced Skip Schumaker, Buck Showalter, Fredi Gonzalez, etc.

  7. It’s just so fucking exhausting to do this every 3 years. It’s the same thing over and over and over again.

  8. And now Williams looks like he's gonna be out for a few weeks. Great job Eberflus. You let your franchise QB get hurt in a game you were down 20 with 2 minutes left.

  9. Absolutely baffling Waldron does not utilize him. Mike Martz all over again.

  10. He's had one good game so far. He looks so old and slow. Almost never open cause he's just too slow. And when he has been open, he's been dropping catchable passes.

  11. Eberflus has lost the team.

  12. I saw something that blew my mind. Jake Eder is older than Juan Soto.

  13. What we thinking the rotation will look like next year? Crochet is 100% getting traded so I think we can safely exclude him from the list. To me, the top four guys below should be pretty much be given rotation spots short of massively bad camps. And from there, I’d probably have an open competition for the #5 role between everyone else. My thoughts are Iriarte & Schultz should probably get time in AAA no matter what, but they will threaten for spots at some point during the season. Flexen can be kept around as a mop up guy, but ultimately we have enough young arms to avoid wasting $5M on a C tier SP. I’d rather invest in some protection for Robert or the bullpen. Davis Martin Drew Thorpe Jonathan Cannon Sean Burke Ky Bush* Nick Nastrini Mason Adams Jake Eder* Jairo Iriarte Noah Schultz*

  14. The one thing the Sox could offer him was to be front and center apart of something like building the team from ground zero. He never really had a position like that in other orgs and always was behind someone else. Hopefully spending time in and around as many good organizations helps him be successful. I still don't think anything changes until Jerry is 6 feet under, but it would be nice to have some type of competence on the field in the near future.

  17. Especially because last year was all about shortcuts.

  18. Considering the White Sox have been rebuilding for a long time, I found the "no shortcuts" line condescending.

  19. Should I drop by and give Getz a summary of what Soxtalk knows he should do?

  21. They lost 121 games. Shouldn’t be too hard to find one.

  22. You're something else. Day after day after day people repeat old news.Sox suck, fire Pedro ,fire Getz, Jerry doesn't like dealing in Latin America/DR and you want him to defend himself for making an informative thread just because you think you know it all already? I'm sorry but there are other readers here who might want to know these things or take a fresh look at it. Soxtalk doesn't exist just for you.
