Ah, yes, Chris Sale is still good, and so were some hall-of-famers. But what about James Shields? Anibal Sanchez? Tim Lincecum? Jordan Zimmermann? Barry Zito? Brandon Webb? Matt Cain? Josh Johnson? Ricky Romero? Ben Sheets? Oliver Perez? Jaret Wright? Rich Harden? Aaron Sele? Dontrelle Willis? Carlos Silva? Mike Hampton? Gil Meche? Jake Westbrook? Jeremy Bonderman? What about Erik Bedard? Ian Snell? John Maine? Brett Anderson? Jair Jurrjens? Julio Teheran? Brandon Beachy? Jorge De la Rosa? Jonathan Sanchez? Jeremy Guthrie? Matt Harvey? Justin Masterson? Whatever happened to Chad Billingsley? Mat Latos? Patrick Corbin? Andrew Cashner? Shelby Miller? Chris Tillman? Kris Medlen? Ian Kennedy? Edinson Volquez? Where did Neftali Feliz end up? Wily Peralta? Alek Menoah? Mike Clevinger? Zac Plesac? German Marquez? Noah Syndergaard? Jeremy Hellickson? Michael Pineda? Remember what a building block Chris Archer was? Reylo sucked, lol. Rodon was a free agent. So they've traded two dudes in the last 25 years you wish you had back? Would that have been enough? Or, I guess three to be fair: Fernando Tatis Jr. could make a difference for sure... except... WAIT! He was worthless PROSPECT! They traded him to GET the established star pitcher! One of them named above! You're right though, John Danks $11m/yr extension, the failure to sign Zach Wheeler, and two short-term sub-$20m contracts in the 2020's are pretty good evidence the Sox will pay top dollar for a pitcher. I'm sold! Let's see if they can ADD this offseason and turn this 121-loss ship around!3 points

What are the chances CHSN offers a radio feed audio option with the streaming app? MLB.tv spoiled me and I'm 100% not paying extra for Schriff to insult my intelligence on a nightly basis.3 points

We really need bats. I get Painter could be awesome, but we got to find a way to add some high impact offense.3 points

Agreed, these knuckleheads clowning each other are entertaining to watch even when the Sox suck.2 points

I do enjoy Chuck and Ozzie, and Frank and Pods when they are on. Gordie is getting better. I might pay to just watch them 😆2 points

The White Sox way… always amateur hour in everything they do.1 point

It looks like the channel listed was wrong, in central Iowa 19.4 comes up as CHSN but there’s just a screen saying programming isn’t available1 point

Can’t argue with you about Painter. Not so sure about Caba. He’s still super young and it was only a very small sample size but he struggled moving to Single A and also appears to have Madrigal power. I don’t think you can have Caba as the top position prospect you get back for Crochet. The lineup is pretty much devoid of any talent, and definitely of star players. I think I’d rather see Getz go after more developed position prospects around the age of 21 or so. He really cannot f*** this up, or else there is no hope for a decent Sox lineup for years.1 point

Based on the CHSN website, they apparently don’t even know which cities they are broadcasting to so I wouldn’t get my hopes up.1 point

Bohm is a nonstarter for the Sox. I also hope they are smart enough to avoid Brett Baty. The guy is not good at 3b and has a pretty good track record of not hitting in the majors. 1 Miguel Vargas is plenty, thanks.1 point
-
Yeah, it sucks. Painter would be awesome but our lineup is absolutely putrid with not a ton of help coming (Quero and Montgomery). But the Alec Bohm suggestion by Rogers is so stupid. If Getz wants a Boras client with 2 years of control left, we are in trouble.1 point

Jesse Rogers is like a young Bruce Levine. Never tells you anything you don’t already know and suggest stupid trade proposals. But I do like the Phillies as a trade partner if Painter is involved.1 point

None of its an actual issue. Installing a antenna isn’t hard, getting a VPN to go around blackouts isn’t hard, dropping my cable and getting a far inferior cable package without internet isn’t hard. i just have zero desire to do it, because they have zero desire to compete. Such is life1 point

The directions for the phone app is in the manual which come with the unit.1 point

Make sure you get the free phone app which will guide you to position the antenna in a straight line to the nearest tower. Fully extend the two antenna on the back of the device for the ultimate reception,1 point

The point was not that the Sox didn’t develop them, the point was the minors did not develop them. None of the above changes my feelings, the Sox drafted both of them based on immense natural talent and brought them up immediately with little to no seasoning. and honestly it’s hard to credit crochet even more as a development win since he took it upon himself this season to make himself a starter1 point

The Orioles are in no position to laugh at anyone. They lost in the 1st round of the playoffs 2 years in a row and lost their best starting pitcher. The clock is ticking on their window. We have no idea yet how much money Baltimore's new ownership is willing to spend. If Crochet is willing to sign a reasonable extension with a contende because he believes deep runs into the postseason are potentially harmful to his career, that makes him much more valuable . The potential for the proverbial haul is higher if teams believe this. People were pissed about an extension which threw a monkey wrench into the TDL chances of a Crochet deal but it honestly couldn't have turned out any better. The plan that he and the Sox put together worked like a charm and he pitched way beyond the innings anyone thought he could , stayed healthy and was in near or 90%+ in many Statcast pitching categories. He's worth considerably more now than he was then. I never believed the haul talk for Cease because there was doubt . He looked like a typical Sox prospect starting to regress . Crochet is quite valuable for 2 years and beyond if there's some way for the the Sox to get a higher trade package letting the trading team work on getting Crochet to sign an extension. I need help in knowing if that's allowed.1 point

I don’t have a link but you can order on-line. Best Buy would be your best bet. Hope this help. Model ANT1268EV1 point

At this point I hope the O's keep prospect hugging and continue to make early first round exits at best.1 point

I don’t think the price is that bad if the only reason you pay for a YouTube TV or Hulu TV is for live sports in the first place (which you would cancel).1 point
-
The prices for the network are ridiculous. Talk about being out of touch with your fanbase. I was literally a phone call away from cancelling DirecTV and going to YouTube TV after trialing it. But I didn't because I want to hate watch the Sox next season, and there's no way I'd pay $20 a month. It sounds like many people are having luck with an antenna, but you'd need to be pretty close to the source. My daughter has an HD antenna and lives in Plainfield. I'm going to see if I can pick up the signal there.1 point

Dream trade from the Red Sox would be Mayer, Montgomery, Zanetello, and a filler piece. I would do the same trade with Mayer swapped for Campbell.1 point

I’d certainly take him over Coby Mayo if those are the top two prospects being offered by Baltimore and Boston.1 point

Coaching and the OL is the ultimate problem but yikes, give me Saquon Barkley over D’Andre Swift and Nate Davis. Guess who cost more? Gotta love the “THANK YOU GIANTS!!!” chant by the Eagles fans as Barkley is being interviewed in the postgame show. Poles needs to be on the hot seat at this point. He recognizes star players about as well as Getz. Keeping Eberloser around for another year and hiring Waldron should only give him one more season to prove himself as GM. And Kevin Warren has done absolutely nothing. Poles worried more about adding a ton of offensive weapons (Keenan Allen and Swift, LOL), while thinking a piece of garbage makeshift OL could protect long enough for a rookie QB to sling it around. Poles is a dipshit just like the rest of them. He would have been better off acquiring as much OL as he could and played Roschon and Herbert at RB and less Allen at WR.1 point

Someone has to milk a Chicago sports media job. It may as well be a boring old fogey. He thought about asking hard-hitting questions back in his 30’s, but then decided it would be a better idea to milk an easy career into his 70’s.1 point

I’m 90% optimistic that Getz will get a really good package for Crochet. The other 10% fears that Harold is Getz and we are going to do something really stupid.1 point

Heyman reporting Sox should get a blue chip prospect and more. Seems to think it will be a huge haul.1 point
-
Yeah silly for people to think the Sox would say no when in reality the Orioles laugh at you and hang up the phone.1 point
-
You're not making any case for anything by quoting arbitrary ranking numbers. And you're not disproving that the Sox ~$850k in slot space can bring back a similar legitimate prospect. You seem to feel that unless a minor league player is ranked #1 in the game, they're worthless, which is silly.1 point
-
I think he or someone else may have mentioned Joc Pederson, but he’s been good enough over the last three years to sign a short term deal with a contender. There’s no reason for Joc to want to come to the White Sox unless they way overpaid him.1 point

How about $240 for the worst team in the history of it's sport?1 point
-
The likelihood of them going 9-8 is on par with Chris Getz saving a year of learning by a new GM. If everything went right they were not finishing the year 4-4 based on the quality of opponents. They needed to be 6-3 at this point to maybe make the playoffs.1 point
-
Players throw (and are expected to throw) way harder now too. You can't throw 95-100 for 250+ innings a year unless you want pitchers to throw every other year only because they need TJS after every season.1 point

I'm moreso amused that there are folks who ACTUALLY give a bit of thought to this organization having a snowball's chance in hell, of getting a guy like Roki from Japan. How easily some forget the current level of ineptitude, all around.1 point
