  6. Bears could've beaten GB, Minny and Detroit with an above average HC. I can't blame the rookie, Flus should have called the TO, SMH

  7. After the initial massive turkey I am cooking, my dad and I are doing a pork roast and a smaller turkey breast and more stuffing for the rest of the weekend! Kids are gonna gain 5 pounds this weekend.

  8. I don’t think they are getting Montgomery + one of the big 4. If they got Campbell and Montgomery alone I’d be excited not mentioning a flyer as the 3rd piece.

  10. Menu ESPNCompare and contrast Sox with the worst teams/franchises in other sports.... 1) Iconic black white and silver logos 2) Unstable franchises...have occupied major market/s but second team to 49ers/Cubs...never found home in LA or St Pete or Nashville 3) Terrible at drafting and signing FA's 4) Al Davis and JR iconic owners who aged out of relevance 5) Bowers/Crosby=Crochet/Robert Davante Adams=Benintendi 6) Proud histories/historic franchises...only major difference the two stadiums and 70s 80s early 90s winning tradition of the Raiders. "The biggest problem is the same one that has faced this organization for years. I wrote about it repeatedly at the end of the Jon Gruden era in 2021, then again when it traded for Adams in 2022. After nearly a decade of poor drafts and short-sighted decision-making, the Raiders are missing virtually an entire roster's worth of homegrown players. Across an eight-year window from 2016 to 2023, they essentially would have done better drafting out of a magazine with 10 minutes of prep like your friend who forgot about his fantasy draft: Earlier versions of the Raiders tried to make up for the absences by getting very aggressive in free agency. The 2024 team is fielding the league's fifth-youngest roster, which is at least a testament to change. They're playing a young group of receivers after the injuries, paced by rookie tight end Brock Bowers, who has been fantastic. The offensive line has three starters on rookie deals, while the same is true for five of the six regulars in the secondary. Young, cheap talent doesn't necessarily equal breakout players, but the Raiders were often too confident that signing veteran free agents would solve their problems. I'm not sure they're any more likely to whiff by giving the same chances to young players." https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/41911328/nfl-worst-teams-2024-which-need-rebuild-roster-depth-chart-salary-cap

  11. There is some truth to that but I'd gladly take what Zisk put up that season in 1977, 30 home runs, 101 RBI's and a .290 batting average.

  12. Another RHH 1b/DH type. Not the kind of guy I want leading this trade.

  13. It’s about accountability, showing you care. I understand sports are different than most other businesses, but in ANY industry, when someone continues, week after week, to put up performances that are not only bad, but cost your organization and puts your brand in a negative light (nationally as well as locally), you don’t keep that person employed for your company. He’s also the most visible member of the organization and the person that speaks for the team. If he’s not capable and not up to the task, I don’t agree, in any business, just keeping the person in place for any longer than they need to be. By keeping Flus, the Bears continue show us they don’t care about getting better or holding people accountable.

  14. A cap won't make cheap asses like Jerry spend with the Dodgers and Yankees of baseball, and a floor only requires him to spend the bare minimum. So long as he gets to bank free money from revenue sharing with no requirement to spend it on baseball operations or player salaries, little would change. Stopping the richest teams from spending won't stop the billionaires at the other end of the spectrum from choosing not to spend.

  16. You're welcome! The White Sox, worst team I have ever seen, kinda deserve it.

  17. These are the types of losses you want when the season is down the drain anyhow. I'd actually be mad about this game had they won the games against Washington and Green Bay, but the team is going nowhere this year. Caleb has proven that he's pretty good when the game comes down to the final drive. That's where this year is much different than 2022, where Fields lost a lot of games late. It's not Caleb's fault the head coach keeps fucking things up. Get him fired and get better draft position for next year.

  18. Chicago sports overall is a huge pile of incompetence, pro franchises being ran by guys who aren't qualified to be there. Nepotism in full effect. At least Sox fans don't turn out when the team is awful, Bears fans just take it up the ass every sunday

  20. A head coach that runs out of time in a close game with a TO left needs to be canned immediately after the game.

  26. I wish the headline was White Sox Looking for a Average Prospect (because Robert had a bad year and there are injury concerns.) What kind of a GM tries to get Top Prospects? Then he would be in the same category as Boras and nobody likes Boras.

  30. I bought a 22 pound turkey from CostCo. I salt brined this b**** for 2 days. Now drying it out until I stuff it with fresh poultry seasoning, sliced apples, onions, and oranges. Going to dry rub the outside with butter, garlic, pepper, and a little brown sugar. Gonna cook it tomorrow morning on my outside propane grill. Should take around 4 to 5 hours at 325 degrees. Grandpa (my dad) makes fresh stuffing from bread, celery, egg, onion, seasoning, etc. and fresh cranberry sauce from frozen cranberries. He also makes fresh mashed potatoes, gravy, and an awesome veggie salad and Hawaiian salad. My 14 and 16 year old boys are going to eat so much they might puke. Going to make sure they don’t eat anything tomorrow until 3 PM or so when Thanksgiving dinner is served. 🤣

  31. If Bohm is part of it, and the Sox should try to accommodate that for Philly, they need to bring in a 3rd team in. Those prospects will be part of the package and could affect what we want/need from Philly. This "flip" stuff never works. I don't think Philly is trying to give him away; heck, they still may be pushing for him to be their main piece, similar to Edman in the Fedde deal. Hopefully Getz performs a lot better this time. As for Robert, I don't see much downside in keeping him around for $20 million, unless the Sox would actually dispatch that $20 million for player they think can be more productive than Robert. Of course the Sox should spend $; need to spend $; Getz can finally make inspired trades and draft picks and it will still be extremely difficult to rebuild this operation from ground zero without spending.

  32. Drafting Buehler probably...May, a whole host of young pitchers before their injuries. Urias before his DV.

  33. Scary that we'll be on the cusp of another presidential election by the time the Sox start to sniff .500. Time flies. In my next life I'm going to pick the Yankees or Dodgers to be my team not the worst franchise in all of sports.

  34. The whole world thought Nick was a high first round pick. If the Sox didn't select him, someone else would have. The Sox failed in developing him. Luis Arraez and Kwan show you that it CAN be done with a guy of his skillset. Granted, they could have drafted better, but don't let that failure, hide the development failure here.

  35. The thing is there is a team out there in our division who turned a Madrigal like player into one of the leading skill hitters in baseball in Steven Kwan. Of course the Sox rushed Madrigal and we will never if taking a more deliberate and intelligent approach to his dev would have changed his path enough.

  36. Hell they didn't act like 2024 was a rebuild year until they got on pace for the worst season in the history of baseball.

  37. What's broken is other teams' front offices. The Dodgers are simply taking advantage of that. Franchises that are willing to spend money on farm systems, free agents and analytics will catch-up - not surprisingly, those teams include the Yankees, Mets, Phillies and Padres. Think of what team has historically fought those trends. *Edit: Forgot to put "free agents" in there. Whoops.
