  1. Keep improving that draft pick.

  2. Jerry hates Sox fans. Nothing new here.

  3. Can't wait to see the 34 year old reliever that we traded an 18 year old for in hopes he pans out so we can trade him for an 18 year old reliever in July.

  4. Poles has to go. He has missed so many times on high draft picks. Too many projects. Too many guys on the OL t hat remind him of Poles as a player.

  7. It's just had to win less than 50 games. OVER is an easy play. Only 11 teams ALL TIME have won less than that.

  8. I’m firmly in the “over” camp. Just seems really hard to win less than 50 games two years in a row. You would need to be very very bad and a bit unlucky. We know they are very very bad, so I’m banking on a few more things going their way this year.

  10. Haters of bad baseball ≠ Sox haters but I know the distinction is difficult for someone who thought this team would be decent last season

  11. Oh, so you don't donate them or participate in the neighborhood at all? I've always been a little curious. Most of us from the neighborhood put our tickets up as bingo prizes or trivia prizes at Maria's and Bernice's and Skylark and Simone's. I was always surprised I've never run into you in real life. Make yourself known this year. My name is Tyler. I'd love to meet you.

  12. I always pass on them to let others enjoy Jerry’s stellar product. My good deed as a Sox fan. Let others enjoy the Soxperience!

  13. They should just do free admission if you buy two beers. If I buy two, I'll probably buy another half dozen.

  15. Caleb has actually gotten worse at getting rid of the ball quickly as the season has gone on. The inaccuracy on deep throws has been really disappointing. All his other struggles are pretty normal for a rookie in a badly coached offense. He really does need a reset and the Bears really need to hire an offensive head coach to get him in the right space. There's definitely times where he plays hero ball and doesn't get rid of the ball when he should, but there's also plays where he just has no chance because there's no actual checkdown for him to go to.

  16. Takes a lot more than a half dozen beers to beat up the first base coach. Any respectable bartender knows when it's time to cut someone off.

  17. And Caleb missing easy passes in the middle of the field. Ridiculous. Every QB in the league can make that throw

  18. I've never seen a team need a bigger culture reset than this. And I'm including the White Sox in that. This is just pathetic.

  19. They lost 27 games this past season where they took a lead into the 7th inning or later.

  20. $72 million opening day payroll in 2018. This upcoming season will be even lower. A new low for Jerry to reach.

  21. 63 wins. They're starting out with a better whole rotation than '24, better bullpen, new manager, rookies competing for jobs instead of lifetime under-achievers getting injured in the first 11 games. They also have their RF and 5th starter in camp from the beginning.
    1 point
  22. Yeah, they were obviously incredibly bad last year, but you need a lot of bad luck to lose that many games. Plus, didn't the bullpen blow like 35 or something games when they were winning in the 6th or later?

  23. The roster is worse than last year but they'll still win more than 50.

  26. That too. Like I said, I have no idea why anyone would ever lock themselves into a game plan with this team when this is the case as well. It’s like burning money, just like what Getz does each offseason.

  27. If you were Lincoln Riley would you leave College head coach money behind to be an OC in the NFL? Dude makes 11 million a year at USC, unless his seat is hot I have to think that is a really dumb move for him Edit: for context, the highest paid OC in the NFL makes 3 million a year. I can’t imagine him leaving 8M on the table https://frontofficesports.com/highest-paid-nfl-offensive-coordinators/

  28. I was wondering when the "I am a better fan than you" crowd would show up to talk down to us mere heathens.

  29. Would Lincoln Riley come along as Carroll’s OC? I really wonder if that’s the sales pitch. You have a lot of parts here that connect with Riley, Carroll and Williams. If I was Carroll, and knew Poles was desperate, I’d throw out the idea of immediate success. “We can save your job and turn this around right away! I’ll rebuild the culture and have a hand in the defense, Riley will work with Williams.” Why would Poles care what happens three years down the line? Or if Riley leaves the following season? The man is trying to survive. Ben Johnson is personally still my number one choice. But I really believe that Carroll has a shot

  32. That would be great marketing but I doubt the Sox want to have another William Ligue and son or Eric Dybas incident, right after the magic bullet lie, I mean incident.

  33. Damn, you special. Good for you. I hope you guys donate those tickets. I'm sure some neighborhood kids would appreciate them.

  34. My company and family and friends give away so many Sox tickets, I can’t imagine ever paying for a multi-game plan.

  35. Upper reserved 20 game plan for $280? I'm in. We should be able to move around all year and games were actually fun as hell last year. We were so bad that people were just there to drink some beers and have a good time. They're so cheap I won't even feel guilty about skipping all the games into late May.

  37. I definitely lost the love for the game but still love stadiums and being in them. The NFL is boring (to me). Too many short passes. At least the games are three hours, no longer unless OT. Once in a while it's worth watching the fourth quarter. Hockey is nonexistent to me. College sports have too many time outs. Volleyball had a chance til they went time out crazy. College football and bball have too many replays and time outs.

  39. Here are some Soxtalk legends: Fathom: (I envision him as a nice guy in real life; knows his stuff, used to get mad when we lost to Cubs, I think he played baseball longer than most on here). Caulfield: Same as Fathom. Seems like he'd be a nice guy in real life. Used to make interesting posts about China. He and Fathom seem like kind souls. Harry Chappas: Not only has ties to Brother Rice but has reasonable posts and also never gets mad on here. Seems like a nice guy as well and a proud southsider me thinks. WhiteSox2023 also has Br. Rice ties and seems to have his head on straight. He hasn't been around as long. Milkman Delivers: On the list of most likely to punch greg in the face if we met. I just don't think he likes me much. I could be wrong. Ron883: I think he is ok with greg. He's posted a long time, seems reasonable. I think we've disagreed on some players' value in the past. Texsox: Seems like a nice guy. I think we would agree on political stuff in real life. Mabe not. Those few come to mind right now. Peace on earth to all over the holiday season.

  45. Our tank job was disgusting. If we'd have kept Sale with Abreu and run an organization like most other ones (prospects, spending a little bit of cash) we wouldn't have needed no stinkin' rebuild/tank job. The way the Sox run rebuilds ... you have ZERO good players on your team while you languish. Crochet is gone so we allegedly have one good player left on our roster (Robert; Beni is at least worthy of a big league uniform).
