As for the Sterling comparison, Ishbia doesn't think that will stand for much longer. Spending a lot of money to try and win a championship but ultimately failing, does not make someone the worst owner in the history of the league. Booker KD Paul and Beal didn’t work but damn man, that’s something you criticize the GM and head coach for putting that group together and being unable to win; not the owner for allowing him to spend it5 points

Even if you wanted to give Getz the benefit of the doubt at this point (and I do think there are some elements of truth to the idea it’s too early to fully judge him) I keep going back to a very simple premise… In what world should ANYONE trust the judgment and decision making of Jerry Reinsdorf? There is MORE than enough history to tell us a majority of his hiring decisions and motivations do not support any semblance of winning results on the field (or court) Because we’re been subjected to so much, Getz is simply guilty by association. Being hand selected by Jerry is a GIANT red flag that it’s the wrong guy. That’s how I know Getz isn’t the man for this job. Because Jerry picked him.5 points

If this crap is gonna happen I rather see Quero, Teel, Elko, Ramos, Baldwin and a couple of the guys on the roster. Hell throw Colas in there too. But these fucks really?3 points

I always thought of the TLR one as a reaction to something absolutely bonkers or that you completely disagree with. Conversely, the Hawk one is for something completely goofy that you like.3 points

is Quero a real switch hitter or a fake one like moncada3 points

Another game with three runs or less and another pitcher with the dreaded "forearm soreness" which will translate to a date with the doctor for TJS, the eighth Sox pitcher to have it this year. Maybe they can get a group discount?????????????2 points

How do you spend so many damn hours on this site and not know who Jeral Perez is? The Dodgers trade was bigger than Miguel Vargas. Alex Albertus is also a legit prospect. Put it in your notepad.2 points

By the way, they're now ranked 15th in O-Swing% and 9th in Z-Swing%, so no longer top dogs.1 point

Things are heating up: - Vaughn has put 40 points on his average since Sunday, is all the way up to .138, but just two points ahead of Robert's .136; - Vargas got a base hit, he is hovering around the .150 mark, a 30-40 point improvement over last season. Plus he won the 2025 Came-To-Training-Camp-In-The-Best-Shape-Of-His-Life award; And, let's try and focus on Getz's vision, his proclamation when he took over the franchise that was one of the worst hitting teams the previous decade: Rebuilding the pitching must be the top priority.1 point

Well if this doesn't fit in nicely to the thread: https://blogs.fangraphs.com/by-meidroth-i-care-not-a-man-can-swing-but-once/ I'm beginning to worry the Sox believe this is a market gap... it's not.1 point

The V boys(vaughn, vargas) should both be released May 1st if they don't have a massive turnaround. Making bad draft choices and horrible trades worse by keeping them on the field sends a message. It says no matter how bad we screw the pooch, our vanity is more important than trying to win. It's time to change course.1 point

Another guy who seems to have sold his soul to JR is Steve Stone. He has become a big time houseman for JR.1 point
-
I’m sure he takes Jerry’s opinion into consideration, but it’s still no excuse for his awful talent evaluation.1 point
-
Like many of JR's employees he loves the nice check and job security. Should he resign? Probably...will he? Nope...he's got a family to feed and much like Williams and Hahn he'll never sniff another job in MLB so he does what he's told.1 point

This has been one of the worst organizations in baseball since the start of the 2007 season. The record doesn't lie: 12 losing years, five winning ones and a .500 season.1 point

When a team is so terribly overmatched, it looks like they aren't giving any effort at times, because they aren't good enough. Outside of a couple of guys, that is the case for almost all of this roster.1 point
-
Also if you put any truth into Getz is the one putting together the lineups, its even more of an inditement to how bad he is at his job.1 point
-
Team looks like it's already quit imo. Our inability to find players with grit and managers that can motivate is a very big factor in why the team is so bad and will once again under perform the projections by 10-20 games.1 point
-
If he would have just made the opposite of every acquisition, they’d be in a better place. Fedde was the best guy he’s signed, and even that has basically become a net negative for the franchise.1 point
-
After putting the worst team in baseball history on the field in 2024, you would expect there to be some sort of improvement in year 2. There is none, and this team looks just as bad if not worse than 2024. I believe the only way that happens is if you don't know what you're doing. This should come as a shock to no one, as Chris Getz was not and is not qualified to be a GM of a MLB team.1 point
-
I’ll be honest, I am starting to lose the little bit of hope I had that Getz wasn’t the shitty Farm Director that he appeared to be and that his failures were a result of being held back by KW & Hahn. I have no doubt that he’s made some structural improvements to the org, but ultimately you have to be able to marry the data and technology and turn it into meaningful actions to drive real change and I am currently unconvinced he knows how to do that.1 point
-
Reading the fangraphs report on the farm system, there just doesn’t seem to be anything close to a difference maker on the offensive side in the system. A bunch of guys that likely profile as 7, 8 or 9 hitters. Braden Montgomery probably has the best chance of reaching a high ceiling.1 point

Getz is historic. He got to 100 games below .500 as a GM faster than Pedro did as a manager.1 point
-
Agreed with this. While some will say "real fans die hard", the truth is the white sox fan base has been beaten to death by poor ownership. At this point, going to the game says nothing about the strength of your fandom.1 point
